Laura’s is always the most realistic/real world interior design with it’s proper elements Alvin’s is just a bit more luxurious. Could be seen if the client doesn’t have specific wants or a budget. Costly but beautiful. Lula’s… Definitely not my favorite, always out of the box, only would be acceptable to few clients/spaces. Living in California, Laura's space is that elevated ideal bedroom that is practical and soothing. Alvin's bedroom would be the perfect warm space to step away from a busy city. Lula's is a dream bedroom and I would spend so much quality and intimate time there. I love this series and all designers!
Alvin wins this one for me, hands down. The warmth and agreement between the shapes of the furniture and archway, the echoing of the lines in the wall and the light fixture, plus the addition of that one "weird" piece in the chaise. I'm not much of an MCM fan, especially not in a bedroom (it veers toward hardness for me), but Laura did a great job if that's your style. Lula's had that crazy billionaire's pad feel, which is fun and creative.

@@equanimityzen58 nope, I'd be ecstatic.
I love this series. In my opinion, the interior designers should accept the given spaces as a positive constraint and not get too caught up in fantasies, no matter how tempting they may be. Under these conditions, Laura has created an inviting warm and livable bedroom. Alvin a luxury variant with somewhat more extensive interventions. Only the additionally added sofa seems superfluous to me.
I love all the designs, don't love how easily window's/light is narrowed & how easily walls are torn down for new windows. I get that they have no limitations, but without limitation anything is easy to change into a dreamy idea, an idea that isn't achievable. I'd like to see this format but either with pricing, or, basic limitations. That's more interesting, because we can either copy-paste the inspiration at home, or understand what it actually takes for this design to be achieved 😊
@copycooks9850

Yeah agreed. If they are given a floorplan for the entire house, and a general location, I feel like we'd have a more genuine render rather than imagining that making windows in a wall won't be windows into a kitchen or bathroom. They are all amazing but I’d choose Laura’s. I liked her references to sustainability, and the overall aesthetic was great.
I liked Alvin's design the most. He looks so confident and professional at his work. The second one I like was Laura's idea of that vacant room. I love her energy as well as how she adds a built-in dressing table with white color. And last but not least, Lula's concept and she's tried her best to describe her thoughts. And how to design the room however I guess her design is so straightforward. Yup. Thanks for this concept.🎨
I thinks Alvin's design takes the crown this episode. Incredible design!
I find these 1 room - 3 designers videos very interesting and useful. I like Laura's simple, clean, super-practical layout including the desk facing the small window and 2 armchairs. I like Alvin's warm and luxurious atmosphere and furniture style (except for the bed foot sofa). I don't like Lula's design at all. In my opinion, as a private bedroom it's absolutely horrible, even terrifying, but I think it might work well for some really weird honeymoon beach or mountain hotel.

Came here to say exactly this. Lula's bedroom looks like a first attempt on a design game app. Utterly impractical. (Seriously, a fire pit and a fluffy carpet? You're asking for trouble!) Though I can appreciate Alvin's design, Laura was the only one who actually designed for a client rather than herself. She doesn't say 'I' at all in the final notes. Very professional.
Lula's design is so artsy and creative like you're living in a fantasy (fantasy in a sense of not coming from this world like something I would see in a story) but not too much as it's not good to living bc it would be completely impractical AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH I love unusual interior designs

Her designs are ridiculous. How’s she even a designer with no concept of reality. That bed hanging on two wires? It would 100% tip if it only attached to the bed at 2 Points. And she changed every single thing about the room. Why not just make it into a sauna room with a helicopter landing pad and swimming pool and bowling lane, and add a second story and loft space?
LOVE this series! I would like to see dimensions of the room added in the future so each designer can understand how big the room is. While Lulas room is beautiful, It feels like her proportions and scale are way off - She assumed the room was massive, while the others assumed the room was modest.

Completely agree. The bed itself is extremely clunky and does not seem stable at all, especially with 2 thin chains that arent near the middle, it seems that if you lay on just one side it'll go lopsided.

Alvins eye for especially bedrooms is so unique and his take on color & print and detail! I loveee!
Alvin's room takes the crown for me. Beautiful, warm, cozy and luxe! Love it
I love elements from all 3 designs, but in terms of the overall design, I think Alvin's is my favorite. I love how modern and livable it looks. Although Laura's is definitely not far behind! I love all the natural elements. I would love to have Alvin's room in my main house and Laura's as a bedroom in a vacation home. Lula's is very fun and I love the circular shape, but I don't think it's the most practical and the color palette isn't really me. It also doesn't immediately read cozy. Perhaps my younger teenage/early-20s self would choose this one since I loved ultra-modern designs back then. But as I get older, I prefer a mix of homey and modern. :P

Love love loveeee Alvin’s design oh my god. The attention to detail and the creamy earth tones he used in the bedroom is so perfect. Really appreciate it when designers can transport a space/room and add diff cultural elements. 10/10 would let Alvin design my room 😍
In each episode, I find myself drawn to Laura's practical yet comforting designs. If I had my own home, and the money to hire a designer, it would be Laura FTW.
Of the three designs, I love Laura's design. Thank you, designers.
I love Alvin’s take it has the right mix of design, color, texture and also practicality. 👍
Laura's designs are always my favourites, practical, natural, sustainable and easy, love them 🥰
Lula: there’s an undeniable aquatic/beachy theme here, which isn’t necessarily a bad it’s just very niche. I can’t imagine decorating my bedroom like that if I don’t live somewhere coastal. It’s also very empty, like it’s literally just a bed and a little sitting area. Nothing wrong with minimalism, but there’s not even anywhere to set a drink down! I detest the hanging bed, it’s so impractical given one of the more common activities done on a bed 😅. My last gripe with this design is the lack of diversity when it comes to the silhouettes she chose. I mean there is not a single straight edge in the entire room, everything is rounded off. Overall, I really don’t like what she did with the space. Laura: by far my favorite! It’s just so classic and versatile. My favorite part is the French pocket doors, absolutely genius way of dividing the space. Alvin: I do like his design overall, but it’s not something I would do with my own home. The color palette is way too neutral, and I think the hammock is cliché. I also just cannot get passed the fact that the sofa at the foot of the bed is taller than the bed. If you were to lay down and watch TV the bottom of the screen would be cut off. Speaking of which, I really respect the fact that he included a TV. Why are designers always so averse to having one?? No, they’re not the most attractive but they’re a necessity. That’s like designing a bathroom but not wanting to have a toilet because it throws off the aesthetic.
Alvin's feels personal and livable beyond sleeping. Laura's has a corporate extended stay feel with the desk and sleek cleanliness of it, starched. Lulu's seems best suited for a resort type, or house for short stays. For those reasons, I pick Alvin's, (except I'd pick a different chandelier).

The Jetson-esc design of Lula isn't inviting enough for a bedroom to me, but as a hotel suite it would be great! Laura's design was very grounded, but it had no layers or pizazz though it did remind me of Cali. Alvin had layers and texture with style, luxury and cozy, maybe he spoke to my city girl heart, but his room had the best overall dream bedroom appeal to me!!
I love Laura’s the best. It’s peaceful, warm and inviting. I couldn’t sleep or rest in Lula’s design because of the bed. I’d probably rest better in a bathtub.

I LOVE their mutual admiration for each other’s designs !
Alvin's design is so warm and cozy, looking at the room from one end and it feels cohesive. Its the best of the three designs!
Laura’s space is so thoughtful. Huge fan of the super long desk under the window

These series brings me so much joy. Please don't stop making them.
I love Laura's sliding doors and sun room. I like Lula's walls, side wall windows and carpet. I really like Alvin's lighting, the bed and night stand.
Lula's design is dreamy but so impractical and unrealistic. It's a retrofit of an existing room. Where does the fireplace outlet to? How are you going to keep that carpet from accumulating dust? How can you recess the floor? What are the implications of knocking out the windows? And that bed... gravity doesn't work like that.. And who would want to sleep in an unstable bed like that?

Yess You won’t be able to mount that bed 😅 If it is a 2 pillars holding it, maybe But she said chain🥲
For the “floating bed” idea from Lula, I think a little modification could work. I would put a “transparent” circular base at the bottom of the bed in white or very light beige or some kind of metal that can hold the weight of the bed. The chains are too awkward and there are just too many safety and practicality concerns for everyday use. Aesthetically it’s also an eyesore to see two strings/chain link to the bed…
Lula is so creative and the room is such a pretty aesthetic
love lulas style!!! it’s so refreshing and unique. i think a lot of ppl are missing the whole point of the vid where they specifically say that there are no limitations. also hanging beds are a thing ppl. in fact they’ve been a thing in india for a very long time and it works just fine.
I didn’t think I would like Alvin’s because I don’t usually like luxe or modern, but he did something unusual and made it so warm and cozy, instead of stark and cold. I’m surprised at how much I like his design. The one I was least likely to like is some how my favorite lol. But I like all 3 for different reasons.
Lula's design always amazes me ahah Laura's is always the more down to earth and Alvin the more lux style. I like 'wow' and different so I would go for Lula's even though I think the bed would need more cables, physics will send the bed all over the place, jumping into the bed would send it crashing on the wall ahah It all just comes down to personal taste, all 3 are pretty good.
For me it’s an easy choice…Alvin would be my designer, hands down. Laura’s design is okay if simple basics is what you are looking for in a bedroom. However, I want something more when it comes to my bedroom. The feeling I get when looking at it is that of a dormitory rather than the warm and welcoming feel of a private bedroom. Lulas’ design would certainly be the most expensive to achieve and hardest to change, considering all the custom designed windows, wall coverings and furniture. It has an interesting and prominent fantasy-theme to it, but to me it lacks the comfortable, warm and inviting feel of home that I desire in a bedroom. Instead, it feels more like a theme-based hotel room in an amusement park, such as Disney World. While that is wonderful if it’s what you enjoy, I fear it would be something that I would tire of very quickly. Alvin’s design is warm and inviting, and feels like a space I’d like to spend time in. Very comfortable. All three are an amazing difference in each design.
I can imagine actually living in Lauras design, it blends art and comfort so well with added plant companions.
Hey this one is so cool! I was wondering if you could make a series where you will teach us the basics of architecture. Honestly, the subject architecture seems so fascinating to me, but at the same time I have little idea about it,like it's one of the crucial things to build houses and other infrastructures. But I would like to know more about it. I wanna know what it's really about and what kind of subjects is involved in it, such as physics or chemistry. In my point of view, that would be a super useful series. Like I wanna know everything about the subject architecture.
Love the Laura`s design so much. It brings me French vibes, like I`m sitting in front of the window and watching romantic view in Bordo.
putting a couch in front of the bed is such a bizarre choice. it would've been so much better with a chest for storage in that space (or nothing lol) and extra seating in one of the corners
i absolutely loved alvin and laura’s designs. lula’s was nice too but it cant be my everyday bedroom; gives a creepy bedroom in ur dreams vibe
I love this series! AD finds such amazing designers. Beautiful perspectives!
Three great designs. Lula’s seems a bit gimmicky and not really livable. People don’t just use a bed to sleep in - they sit on the edge for any number of reasons - especially in s space like hers where there is no other seating in the main area of the room - and I would not want to have to sit on the edge of a hanging bed. Also, how is she planning to do the recessed floor in what is obviously an upper floor? Also, there’s just a ton of empty space and no place to put anything. Conversely, Laura’s space has good functionality but, let’s face it - that desktop is going to be cluttered if it is actually being used and that visual clutter will detract from the serenity of the room. I do like how she made use of the small window though and I love the French doors. Of the three, I prefer Alvin’s, but I’d love to see his design incorporating a French door or similar feature. (And the hammock is a bit silly. )
All three designs are well done. Lula knocked it into another dimension - a dreamy bedroom - I love the circle window, the ceiling feels so ethereal. I want to live in that room, hang out in that bed, sit around the fireplace in the winter and enjoy the summer breeze sitting in that arch window. Awesome! Alvin's design rocked it for elegance and easy living. A relaxed style with a designer's eye for giving warmth and presence to neutrals. A wonderful bedroom! However, Laura's design felt too functional and a bit like a hotel room to me personally. Separating with extra doors does not feel mysterious to me but rather makes me feel closed off or closed in, takes away too much light, and diminishes the use and enjoyment of the focal point of the room. Great series, love it!
I absolutely love this series. Always interesting to see such different takes on the same space, and be transformed to a completely new one
Laura’s is obviously the most livable and the most bedroom-comfy. You can tell she does a good job not only keeping in mind the project at hand, but budget (no matter how low or high), the clients desires, practicality, transitional ability and luxury while simultaneously pushing HER vision for the space and expertise in the field. She seems like the most transitionally capable designer. Lulo is GREAT for grandiose, high concept design. She REALLY is talented at recreation and reenvisioning (or even originally envisioning) a space as something BEYOND the average. She would be an AMAZING design hire for public spaces or even super high-end audacious mansion design for the wealthy. Alvin is EXACTLY who the rich (rich is very different from wealthy lol) and famous would and SHOULD hire. His concepts are very clearly high-end, chic and tailored. He seems to be very well versed at resourcing amazing materials from seemingly obscure foreign/international sources. He seems to really be able to extract the true aesthetic and potential out of natural elements i.e. how to translate the aesthetic/of a tree or a forest or the ocean into designing a livable functional space. He seems the most likely to be able to construct original design from the ground up. He’s a happy medium between Laura’s luxurious sensibity and Lulo’s high brow conceptualism. They are all really great designers. Good job AD.
I wanna know how an interior designer can change the view out the window. That's a serious trick.
Lula's ideas were so cool. She's so creative! I feel like not many people would be able to imagine something so interesting and magical just by looking at a plain room like that.
I love these episodes and learning more about each designer's perspective and strategetic taste for interior design. Please release more :)
This was wonderful. I genuinely enjoyed getting to see their perspective. All such beautiful ideas!
Loved this video! Great to see 3 different design concepts! 💕
Laura's design is stunning...just LOVE it !!!
Laura's design is warm and earthy. It would've been a nice touch to have sliding doors in the sun room, opening to the outside, Parisian style I suppose. The smaller window, depending on the view, stain glass might be interesting... Clear textured or subtle colours. Personally, a fire place with 2 cozy chairs, gives me a sense of balance. Both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Emphasizing the warmth and earthiness.
Lulas design was marvelous 😍it had all the elements that our planet has. So creative and gorgeous
I like Alvin's the best. So luxe and comfortable. But I would also feel very happy in Laura's room. I think Laura's probably has the most mass appeal and is the most doable if someone wanted to achieve one of these looks for themselves in real life. Lula's is really fun but very specific taste so it feels like it could be for a movie set design that needed a unique and memorable bedroom look.
I got so excited when I was that Lula was going to be in this video! I love her room especially the windows. I did want to see some storage to complete the look, I don't know how I wouldve incorporated that to fit with the theme while not overcrowding the space, but I know that Lula would've thought of something. I also love Alvin's room as well, especially the window room. I love how he added the hammock and just how relaxing and warm the space was. I'm not a huge fan of the wallpaper & rug. Even as interior designers, I think Lula & Alvin are people that I would enjoy working with.
I love these type of design segments. Please keep them coming. This would be a great TV show!
They are all so beautiful and stunning in different ways.Very gifted designers and was fun to watch their ideas flowing.
Hands down to Lauras design! Simply beautiful and appealing! Something I would like for myself!
Alvin's is lovely, warm, and cozy and probably my choice, Laura's is nice and the most realistic for most ppl, ...and Lula's is..interesting. Her design is pretty, but she created an entirely different building. lol. The original is clearly a condo, so making exterior structural changes with the windows is unrealistic, (the right wall without a window is also presumably a joining wall with another unit,) so while whimsical, it wasn't really in line with the project imo. Still interesting anyhow.
I really love Lula's mystical and magical way of designing
I love this series - thanks AD for this concept. These are my 3 favorite designers. Lula has very imaginative designs - she’s not afraid to move and add structures. The big elements don’t limit her vision. Laura is the most practical - she’s not going to give you a theater room for a bedroom or a bedroom for an office. Alvin’s designs are my favorites. He dresses spaces in bold, interesting textures, which envelopes you and take you away from the ordinary without breaking the bank.
I'd like to see how they will arrange and decorate my tiny studio. Or more challenging layouts.
Alvin's design is my favorite, but they are all pretty fabulous.
I admire how each of the three designers has their own unique tastes and styles, yet they remain supportive of one another.
A beautiful view should never be covered up! Laura always understands the assignment 👌🏼
I loved Laura's design! And Enjoyed Alvin's too. Lula, I mean yes it's a blank canvas and you can go crazy but at the end of the day it's a bedroom with the purposes of sleeping and relaxing. There are so many windows in Lula's design, how am I gonna sleep? The bed should come with a weight restriction. And I hated the fact that she had nothing to say about Laura's design.

Yes, I also noticed it. She does not appreciate Laura's design, perhaps.
Lula's designs are PURE MAGIC! She's so artistic with her designs yet they're totally livable. This is not a bedroom, this is a sanctuary. I can't say enough about this amazing series.
I really love this series! Thank you SO MUCH for the reminder that there is no right or wrong way to do design! There's just different ways! And I ABSOLUTELY NEEDED this reminder right now!!! THANK YOU again!!!!
Laura’s room id like to be in right now. So beautiful, elegant, timeless and practical
