great refresher!! I was trying to do these the other day from memory, and it's so good that you've posted proper technique here for us...
Thanks for all the videos Chris. I hope this becomes a series. I find that its more difficult to find information on Olympic athlete type material. Especially information this good, and as easily understandable as you make it. Please keep up the good work.
Great coaching tips
awesome video chris, would love to see more and this becoming a series
High quality and a great video!
eliott needs to shout out your channel every now and then! only just found it and i love it!
Chris, you r THE MAN! for us runners! I run the 200 meter. I love what you have to say especially in detail.
That was a fantastic explanation.
Thanks,this was really helpful
very imformative, great job
your choice of music is amazing my good sir!
I love this test. For those of you saying you can broad jump 11ft, you're lying through your teeth. That is an extremely advanced broad jump (more than likely an elite level/pro athlete). My best jump is 10'9 or 3.27M. I am a college long jumper. Video proof on my channel. I can give tips!

+Curtis Ray Wich gym exercise do you think is the most useful to increase the broadjump? Let's say in 2-3 months. Thank you
@Crayzyy
8 жыл бұрын
+Jokin Great question. In order to improve a movement like broad jump, you need to strengthen your fast twitch muscle fibers. This is a quick exercise, so you want your muscles to move fast and be explosive. Avoid heavy deep squats that are slow. Olympic lifts like power clean are great, or possible a heaver 1/4 squat, moving the weight fast is the goal.

+Curtis Ray Thank you i'm already with 1/4 squat, i'm gonna do power cleans and see how it goes. Probably i will increase volumen on those squats :D. Thank you for the answer

Great video Chris!
Awesome vid!

Sick editing.
Amazing video Chris that was insane. Can you do one for the 40 yard dash like this please? Or maybe 5-10-5.
Can you please make a video on tips for walking on the play college football with the top exercises/drills to do in preparation.

that exercises should I do to increase the jump in long stationary
Your advice please. I'm competing in a Senior State Games (I'm 52). Jumped 8'10" last year. Want to jump over 9' this year. It's at a track, long jump pit. Should I wear sneakers or track spikes? Any advantage to one over the other? Thanks !
that exercises should I do to increase the jump in lunho stationary
Whats the name of the instrumental used in the intro?
We are going to take a PE test the day after tomorrow. Some key points in the video like 'hips follow hands' is really helpful. Thanks a lot.

Is there any standards for female athletes at this current time? Currently broad jumping an 8'0 even @ 5"6 height. Box jumping 42 Inches.
And how would you say that can be done? As in, what will be the difference in training?
Hey are you available for questions..
do powerlifters need as much protein as bodybuilders? might sound like a stupid question, but you always hear that you should take about 2g of protein per kg bodyweight. would you be able to make progress on the main lifts (strength, not muscle growth) whithout increasing calories and with a decent protein intake?
PLS TELL ME WHAT IS THE SONG AT THE START
What did he jump? I'm just starting a program @ 8' 7" tryna improve
thanks.
Is this a single jump or a double broad jump? If it is isn't 11 feet not far at all?
He is so good he jumps so far
Can you talk about landing without hurting/injuring your knee? I've done 5 x 5 for box jumps and broad jumps and I messed up my knee for about a week. Haven't jumped since but I found it incredibly fun and want to continue.
@wickedhyperstyler
5 жыл бұрын
I know it's late, but for the box jumps try to land on the ball of your foot. It absorbs the shock of the jump. As with usual running/jogging most knee injuries happen by using the heel plus stretched knees, which results in big shocks for your knees.
The dramatic music is not necessary.
Hi, my son is 2 inchs away from breaking the parish record in our home town. He's 8 years old. He jumped 6ft 8 inches. He's had no previous training at all. I can send a video him jumping. I appreciate any help. Thanks Mike
Chris, you showed your vertical is 45", what is your broad jump
Also similar to a long jump

Best way to increase bench, squat, hang clean, vertical and board jump?
@PikeFitness
9 жыл бұрын
The best way to increase bench, squat, hang clean, vertical, and broad jump is by doing bench, squat, hang clean, vertical, and broad jump. It's the principle of specificity. If you're looking for more general adaptations, do other similar movements. Deadlifts and RDLs couldn't hurt.
12,3. The jump is fucking ridiculous
i'm 17 yrs old and I jumped 2,8m. How can I get to 3m?
I'm 13 and i jump 2,42m. Is that good?
Wow this is the soonest I've ever watched a vid..being Mexican I could really use this.
Would improving reactive/plyometric strength increase your broad jump?

I am not sure exactly what kind of program would be optimal if you weren't bulking. Something a bit less intense then what you would do if bulking I would suppose.

well thought out but i feel its definitly a movie for sales.........
Yes you can increase strength without gaining weight. Gains will be more difficult but it can be done.
I'm 15 and in 9th grade. My longest broad jump is 7 feet 0. Is that good?

Camera guy training for the next Bourne movie
Man I've always been good at these. The farthest I ever jumped was 11ft 4.5 when we had a high school competition. I did it in awkward shoes and cargo pants but had a big crowd cheering me on. Then I go into my backyard, properly stretch and have workout attire on and I only got 11ft one time. Felt bad man.
i'm 27 years old, 1.70m and 76 kg but only did 2.05 metres, however I am on a starvation diet, opioids, muscle relaxants and dehydrated. fuck the NFL
My best broad jump is 246cm or 8'1" I know one guy that has a 11'4 broad jump my goal is to one day have a 300cm broad jump

yo elliot! braaaaa bra braaa braaaaaaaa
he was talking kgs
2g per kg is more than enough. Do some Google searches, and remember that (pro) bodybuilders can use more protein on account of other "supplements".
I am 4 feet 11 inches and I can jump 7,2!
I must be stupid, because I can't work it out the arm thing while jumping. I'm doing like 7 feet broad jump, I need to increase it to 11 feet in like 6 months.
@viator22
10 жыл бұрын
Move your arms fast, get through the hip, hinge at the waist. 11 feet from 7 is ridiculous though, that's an elite level standing broad jump
@Wabbasha
10 жыл бұрын
viator22 I've been training for it and I quite try to do it as you said, but when I use my arms, I don't get high enough from the ground and land too soon. I actually go further when I focus to get more airborne to land further. I think I said the numbers wrong. Sorry, I'm from Brazil and we use te meter system. I'm doing around 6 feet and need 7 feet. I'm sorry.

Camera-man stop moving the camera while shooting the video, the motion is very distracting.
2grams sounds like to much. 1 gram of protein per pound of LEAN body mass is really all you need.
I am 6 ft tall 150 lbs 11ft broad jump!
Yo good tips and all, but can you stop moving the camera around
I am 5ft 3 I can jump right at 7ft not to good but getting better
Cade os dog da PRF kkkk
