Just so you know new info... I just booked a Princess Cruise for 2020 and there is a change in how the Premium Package works. The package covers beverages up to $12 each. It used to be that, if you ordered a $15 drink, you would be charged the $3 difference. The booking agent just just told me that they now charge you the whole amount of $15... so be careful!

Oh, we're pretty sure things have changed since we filmed this video back in October 2018. Cruise line policies / packages are constantly evolving. Along with that......there may also be a difference between what their corporate office tells you and what the actual ship does.....and also different from ship to ship. That's why we always tell people to check the dates of any video they're watching from any KZread channel out there. Thanks Denice for the info.

This is great information. I'm going on the Grand Princess February of 2020. We are heading to Hawaii on a 15 day cruise. When we booked we got the premium drink package included for the first two in the cabin and a soda package for the third person. I was wondering what all the premium package included and I'm glad to hear it includes specialty coffees. I',m sp excited about this cruise. This will be my first time on Princess. I love they have high tea. My sister and I will enjoy going.. Thanks so much for the very helpful information!! Luv you!!!

Just off Ruby Princess on September 29, and had the Premier Beverage Package. Beverage packages can be bought within the first 2 days on ship. Both passengers in the cabin do not have to buy-can be just one of the passengers. Also, most alcoholic drinks are $12 or less, and if you buy a $15 drink, they charge you the entire $15 (plus gratuity), not the difference.

My husband and I are going on a cruise with Princess cruise Regal in Nov of this year and we both bought the Premier package we only drink beer so do you think we should cancel one package..

I know you all are NCL guys, but we loved Princess. We don’t drink liquor but hubby loves soda. We do not feel he got his $$$ worth. Paid $59.99 each for soda package and we didn’t drink $10 each per day in drinks. Next time we are just buying a half case and bringing with us and save $100. Lesson learned. Love you guys! Bringing extra bag for drinks, when empty (after drinking) we will use it for souvenirs and shopping.

I meant $59 appx for the week each. Card was charged about $120 for soda and a couple cases of water in room too.

Hey guys, would you consider doing a video on all the paperwork you get on a cruise daily delivered to your room? It really took us by surprise. The “Patter” was just the start of it, reviewing it every evening to see what we wanted to do the next day...then there were tons of shopping offers tons of spa offers jewelry pushed like crazy and information on the port history, shopping and safety that we are about to enter. I really felt like I was in school all night after a long day of touring. But I felt like I was going to miss something if I didn’t pile through it. Help! What could we have done to lesson our homework load?

...one clever tip I got was use your phone camera to take o photo of the daily event sheet....that way you car refer to it later....got that from you tube somewhere.....

They also offer the premium drink package on embarkation day, but only that day 😀

Hey Frank & Kevin 👋 Great video 👍& very timely also because I've been considering a Princess cruise. I'd love to attend an afternoon tea time. Also, Princess has food & desserts that always look delicious on vlogs that I've seen. You know how we love a good dessert. 😃🍰🍩🍦Just an F.Y.I., since I've been researching I've found that some of their offerings/policies have changed. 1. Both parties over the age of 21 no longer have to purchase the Premium Beverage package. 👏👍👏👍👏 2. 🍸Drinks over $12 will be charged @ Full Price, you no longer just pay the difference. 3. There is no longer a punch coffee card & unused beverages no longer carry over to your next cruise. They load your "coffee package" with your number of drinks directly onto your cruise card. ☕ Just thought I'd share what I found out. Take care guys. 👋

Very interesting. The beer prices are comparable probably to your higher end bars. $5 a bottle is pretty normal where I live unless it’s happy hour or its on draft. Our local small bars it’s $3 or $4 a bottle. I don’t drink beer but my boyfriend does.

Do they offer other beers to purchase as you want it - like craft beers. I'm a bit of a beer snob. I won't drink Bud or any of that. Give me a Great Lakes ale of some sort. So, no beer package for me is what I'm saying, but I wondered if they offered the "good" stuff anywhere on the ship. TIA

Not sure what package your considering as Princess has multiple options as we covered in the video. If you want bottled water to be included then you will need to purchase the "Premier" beverage package. It is the first package we covered in the video.

Price for the soda package has gone up to $9.99 per person per day plus 18% gratuity and hot chocolate is no longer available there is a premium coffee soda package which includes coffee , soda and hot chocolate -unlimited speciality coffee. coffee cards are no longer these are electronically placed on your room card or medallion, they can not be taken from ship to ship only if you are doing a back to back cruise. soda can package is in room only not available in the bars. all gratuity''s are 18% now

Hey guys. Do you have any insight into why espresso drinks are extra? I recently sailed on NCL Gem and had the Ultimate Bev. Package. Although I knew “specialty coffees” were not included, I assumed that meant boozy coffees. It did not. Although my cappuccinos were delicious, I don’t understand why I had to pay for a cappuccino. I thought this was weird but seems to be standard practice on cruise lines. A $4 cappuccino is way under the $15 value of my drinks. Any ideas why?!

Princess Cruises (Coca-Cola Products) On board you will find Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Sprite Zero, orange soda, tonic water, club soda, and Barq's Root Beer. Like Carnival, you are allowed to bring sodas on the ship with you if you have a particular brand that you enjoy.

Great info on Princess beverage packages, as we are sailing on Princess in 2020 for our 20th Anniversary on the Royal Princess for the Pacific Coast cruise. My wife drinks water so that was great info on that water package. and prices are not too expensive. Thanks so much on that info !!!

Nice - we are on the May 9 2020 Royal Princess Pacific Coast cruise and can't wait. We have been on Regal and know that the Royal will be just as gorgeous! Coffee package now a per cruise only package and tied to your cruise card (or Medallion on Royal now). You can't carry over unused coffees anymore. However, still an excellent deal -we love the Americanos in the morning from the International Cafe! Enjoy your aniversary cruise!

Thanks for the information. I'm planning a princess cruise in 2021 to Alaska for my 20th anniversary. I had a question. Sometimes I see people getting freebies when waiting to sign up for a drink plan when they arrive on the ship. I know it's typically just a free cup or mug, but it's something that's important to my wife, so it's important to me. I prefer to pre-pay for as much as I can so I don;t have to worry about it. What's your preference? Do you wait until you arrive on the ship to sign up for a drink package, or do you sign up for one when you book? Thank you in advance for your time.

We never wait. We always purchase as much as possible. If the cup is important to her than you can buy her one once you board. The pre purchase price will usually be better so will have some extra $$ to buy her that cup. 😉

Never been on a cruise so I have 2 questions. What's the difference between the soda package and canned soda package (besides the price) and can you order any of these packages more than 4 days in advance, like maybe a week or month in advance.

As we stated in the video....the soda package allows you unlimited soda, mocktails & juices for a $ fee...per person/perday. But the canned soda package is a flat fee. You should be able to order it online, like a lot of the other cruise lines do from their website on your cruise reservation site after you book.

Yes they only do the 5 for 4 beer deals, on beer varieties for the masses. Not on the Alaska Brewery beer that is quite good, unfortunately.

I don't know where you are getting your information about having to buy a package for all people in your room, because not only is that NOT on the website but my wife and I have purchased one because I was not able to drink on one cruise and never had any concerns with this.

Thank you for your comment. We get our information from experience as well as directly from the cruise line corporate office prior to filming. If you notice the video was released last year and rules often change, as well as vary from ship to ship. We always advise viewers to check the restrictions and guidelines prior to purchasing and sailing as things often change and evolve.

Doesn’t the coffe card also count toward purchases at the gelato shop?

We believe that all the punch cards are gone at this point. The $ amount purchased is put on your ship card now. And we think that you can interchange your purchases between Gelato & Coffee.

Best she not be with you at the bar ordering them. Otherwise, they would ask each of you for your cards to scan...she would not have the drink package and either she or you (buying her a drink) would be charged.

Sorry but the coffee card did change in 2018. You cannot use those cards, or if on your medallion, on your next cruise. Also if you do not use 15 coffees, you lose them. I also believe that if the loaded dollar amount is on your medallion, one cannot share it.

Love you guys! Taking our 1st cruise to Alaska this summer- we're cruise 'newbies'! So much to learn! Your advise certainly helps. QUESTION: You advised that there is NO SHARING but does that apply to the BOTTLED WATER PKG.? 12 bottles a day is much for 1 person- can the hubby partake in my water pkg. too? Assume we cannot share the New Grounds COFFEE PKG. either. I love coffee but 15 coffee drinks per day- yikes! Thanks again!

You are confused. We never said PER DAY as it pertains to Water Packages & or Coffee Packages. If you choose the water package then 12 bottles of water are delivered to your room. Just once!! NOT PER DAY!! So you are able to share the bottled water package. As for the coffee package, it no longer is a card. It is attached electronically to your sail and sign card. You get 15 coffees TOTAL for the cruise. NOT PER DAY!! Hope that helps.

Would be nice to have a smaller liquor package for senior citizens who don’t drink that much but would like a package.

@@willgaukler8979 - that's what I'm going to do. Debating on bringing onboard two bottles of wine to enjoy on the balcony. My husband doesn't even drink. Maybe I should just bring one!!!!! Or maybe we will make new friends and invite them to our balcony for a drink. Hmmmmm :-)

Hi Doreen !! Did you read the Princess site for these items....... www.princess.com/html/global/personalizer/ssv/beverages/coffee-physical-card-disclaimer/ . Some of our subscribers have said there is no more punch card...it is now part of your sail & sign card. You can purchase the pack of bottled water either after you board the ship or check on your princess reservation webpage.

They still have the coffee card program. The difference is that it is just loaded onto your sail and sign card and you can not carry over to the next cruise anymore.

Yes, definitely !

Why would you buy a water and soda package when you can bring your own water and unlimited soda on board with you. You can also drink the water from the tap. It is distilled water so it is fine to drink with medications or fill your travel mug to go ashore. Also, bring your own wine with you. My wife and I generally bring about 1.5 liters each for each week of cruising. You want to save money... bring your own!

If you brought it from home it wasn't free. You had to buy it from somewhere. Not to mention haul it with you, along with your luggage. If you want to drink the disgusting tasting tap water than more power to you. Enjoy. As for wine, the policy is 750 ml bottle per adult. Most wine drinkers however would drink that at one meal so if you can make the 2 bottles last a full 7 day cruise then congrats. We are all for saving money but sometimes you just have to spend a few bucks to make your experience more enjoyable.

@@Cruisingwithwheels - I agree. I have a friend who bought a 24pack of water. He must have gone back off the ship while he still had time to lug that water. No thank you. My back hurts thinking about it. We will probably opt for the 12 bottles delivered to our room and then maybe refill from the tap (saw on another video). Just hate the nickel and dime stuff. For as much as you pay for the cruise, everything should be included or else put it in the price and just offer it. Sheesh.

I just looked up the conversation of USA money to Australia money and 36.00 Australia is 25.64 USA. Team USA 🇺🇸
