PRINCE 🤴 SAID "GETT OFF" 💎 🔸️ AND PEARL'S ARE FOREVER!!!!!!! 🎉🎵🎶😊
I used to go to a rock club in Glasgow, Scotland called The Cathouse. It had two rooms. It was all Van Halen and Guns 'n' Roses and Scorpions et al. One night I got bored downstairs and went upstairs for a change. As I walked through the doors, the music was driving and hypnotic. I was like, "What IS that song?" HAD to go and ask the DJ. It was Gett Off. And so began my journey into the wonderful world of Prince. Rock music fell by the wayside very soon after that and I started listening to all things funk, soul and groove. Been there ever since, and I am eternally grateful to Purple Yoda for that 🥰

I used to have few drinks and listen to this song at home and it was so beautiful
Man, that Little Man sure plays a mean Big Guitar! I grew up with him, he's one of the G.O.A.T.
Prince may have been reluctant to adopt hip-hop in the ‘80s, but “Gett Off” demonstrates his interest in experimenting and innovating throughout the 1990s. This persistent, gyrating beat is a trailblazing dose of ‘60s-era funk, hip-hop, and hard rock, complete with Rosie Gaines’s smooth harmonies and Eric Leeds’s exotic flute lines. In the bridge, Prince offers a sonic homage to the Godfather of Soul (“I like ‘em fat / I like ‘em proud / You gotta have a mother for me now move your big a** ‘round this way so I can work on that zipper, baby”). “Gett Off” shot to #1 and #21 on the Hot Dance and Hot 100 charts in 1991, respectively.

One of Prince's greatest dance songs IMO. I never get tired of this. I don't think I can easily explain why. Well, that percussion is amazing. Of course it's pure sex. Well so are a lot of Prince songs, but this puts it over more strongly than most. I suspect a lot of people were inspired to get busy after hearing this song. Prince's vocal work is excellent here. The rap/singing thing, great. That scream. The song is a bit complex with all the moving parts, but Prince was a master on instruments AND in the studio.

Emanuel Rice yeah. I remember it.
One of the best dance acts ever for me. And that "Oh my God" is perfect!

I'd be honored if some Prince fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of DIAMONDS & PEARLS and MONEY DON'T MATTER 2 NIGHT on my YT channel in tribute to the great D&P album. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and RESPECT to the genius of Prince.
I love Prince he was a musical genius There will never be another artist like him
Genius... smooth and edgy... top 10 Rock stars ever
His facial expressions are everything.
April 2024 and still gets me dancing
When I first saw this video debut I thought Diamond 💎 was the FINEST woman Prince 🤴 ever had! She was that good.
This was the jam back in the dance clubs when it first came out. This was usually the song that, by the time you were done dancing to it, you knew who you were going home with that night. Electric. Good times. I miss Prince.

DAMN, I wish I was around in that time. I mean, I rather bump and grind on someone to this song than what's being played today ugh lol

Because it's tantric...and meant to be :-) Prince always "went for the jugular" with his lyrics. He was scary good at placing them on top of his music.

Everytime I play this song, my phone wants a cigarette., and wants to be charged.. huh... 🤣🤣🤣. 💜✌️
I’ve said once and I’ll say it again if you grew in this era you are apart of a very lucky group !! Prince , Janet , George Michael , just to name a few we had the best music and artists of all time !!! There is a reason this music is as good today as it was 30 years ago . The crap put out today isn’t even close !!!!

He turned the double entendre upside down; where the sexual meaning was upfront and a 2nd meaning (usually spiritual) was hidden.

well, yeah... he happened to say things like these after joinin' some random cult... but OMFG what a musical HOT beast! No-one can listen to this and stay like "maah... I just don't feel it..." :-D

Anaël Honings he never joined a cult. He just became a jehovah witness which isn’t a cult it’s a worldwide religion that branches from Christianity
Prince is reallly funny in this video, He shows a real comic side of his multi-personalitys.
Prince was just too friggin talented! Not only did he produce this brilliant HIT fused with funk, jazz, rock with a touch of Egyptian soul...the choreography in this video is insane. His subtle moves and gestures coincide with the beat...not to mention, how DIFFICULT it is to do a split while holding his guitar! Otherworldly Brilliance!!!
Prince..always they best
That flute was killer in this song...There is another version of this a Club version that's even more funky than this. It's INSANE.
