hip hop was always competition. check out all the mc battles, dj battles, b-boy battles and even the beefs between graffiti bombers. they were always messing with each other to see who is the best. check out the history before you talk something. fun rap like salt n pepa or kid n play was just one facette of this whole hip hop thing.
