I disagree….I don’t think toast is that socially awkward. I have many bread-based friends and even the lightly grilled ones I know are very confident and cogent, fiscally astute and would be insulted to be compared to a big wet lettuce like her…. (….my lettuce-based friends are, on the other hand, all pricks)

Yep, she’s an absolute embarrassment. But Masterclass? She crashed and then swerved every question into another car crash. This wasn’t even amateurish politicianing! This women can’t even think on the spot to come up with a bull response to literally any question 😂 just stock responses…. It’s honestly so entertaining and I’d be laughing if it wasn’t our futures on the line. Currently trying to get a mortgage and I’m terrified to pull the trigger, and I honestly can’t right now. Which is devastating to my family. We’ve been renting for 6 years and it’s been train wreck after train wreck from this government making it impossible to confidently buy our first house. I’m beyond furious, this all feels like a nightmare, a sentiment shared by most… most who aren’t rich anyway.

I hate her pretending she was from a poor background in the north during the 1980s. Truss grew up in a leafy suburb of Leeds (Roundhay), the daughter of a senior Math professor. I grew up nearby in similar circumstances. We did not struggle as she makes out. Roundhay elected a Tory MP throughout her time there.

Roundhay leafy suburb! Christ when did you last go there? It's an extension of Harehills and Seacroft now. I left Leeds over 45 years ago. It's now unrecognisable and more like Kabul in some areas. So it probably was a bit rough in her day. Thanks to Tony, Gordon and Hillary.

Average house price is over £550,000! in Leeds ffs! As for Tony and Gordon, they had their faults but compared to the current lot of incompetent hard-right extremists, wrecking the UK, they were world-class statesmen. Mind you, even Jeremy Hunt looks good compared to Leafy Liz.

The growth we need is spiritual, through the Holy Spirit. This is the only strand of meaning the 2020s have had to offer, so focus on on that sign and message. It has been made easy and glaringly obvious for us....

She didnt answer any of the simple direct questions!! She just reiterated the waffle she already said. You don't become a great leader by ducking and diving and avoiding tough questions. You meet them head on. The reason she was avoiding the tough questions was because she doesn't have a plan or any amount of confidence behind whatever plan she has. Oh, and the pound took a hit straight after this press conference. She's finished.

Yes, well, there aren't many to choose from. If only David Davis could be persuaded to have another go at the leadership. David Cameron only became leader of the party because he was a fifth cousin of the Queen and the better man was NOT.

It’s like we are watching the work experience intern run the company for the day. I know not everyone in politics is gifted with being a good public speaker and in q and a mode but if you want to be PM you need to have that skill.

I’m so sick of being depressingly right about everything and having to sit and wait for all the “clever” gobshites to catch up. I said from the start that Johnson had purged the cabinet of any experience, ability and integrity, and stuffed it with a bunch of sniffers whose only qualification was their unquestioning support for him. It brought us Hancock, Raab, Patel etc… and Truss and Kwarteng. I said immediately that those people were not even up to the job for any ministerial role, and lo and behold we had Kwarteng as Business Secretary, never offering any glimmer of insight or original thought, but just parroting the party line in response to everything. And we had Truss as Secretary of State for International Trade, with her dramatic proclamations about cheese, trying to sell the myth of a post-Brexit world falling at our feet to make trade deals. The idea of her as Foreign Secretary was a bad joke that became real. But the idea of this pair becoming Chancellor and Prime Minister… words failed me. Neither of them had a clue what they were doing, as we have now seen. And finally, at last, the “clever” gobshites have caught up with me and understood what I said years ago.

Politicians pursue careers for power, not social or economic responsibility. That power and political influence is where they make wealth. PPi, track and trace, covid testing contracts are recent examples of corruption. That’s why Boris built a team of untrustables! Mad thing is, that conferences from Truss was so bad, she couldn’t lead a dog, and yet, she’s probably less corrupt than Boris, and that’s why the big industry players don’t want her. So now we have the tail leading the dog, which explains everything that is wrong with government and power!

An OECD study found "corporate income taxes are the most harmful type of tax for economic growth, followed by personal income taxes". You can't possibly u-turn on both and then frame yourself as pro-growth.

I grew up in Bradford Liz and the poverty and what ppl will do for money is genuinely shocking, saddening and tragic. Tax breaks for corps and billionaires won't help. I think everyone should contribute to a better society and should also give their TIME and EXPERTISE for mentoring and training. Words are empty when u give no money or time to the electorate and none of them do. Why not start by sharing ur experiences and training to young students? Is it because, perhaps, u gained privilege through inheritance and didn't actually learn anything or gain any practical skills through ur elite education?!

I got triggered because after leaving home at 15 i trained students with special needs to have a better future for 5 years whilst living around drugs and crime and my mum worked, raised two boys and earned a degree and it's not easy at all like they make it sound. Guess I'm still triggered! 😂 We earned a future and it wasn't guaranteed. I believe in democracy and just wish politicians were more diverse and could speak to experience or moral imperatives instead of just playing the game. Heart on your sleeve, win big or lose hard. That would give us some hope! There's no talk of meaningful change for citizens at all

God bless the king and God bless the kingdom ! That is all that the Brits can do nos ..Hope that God exists ..if he/ she does, hope that they get the blessings !

The country indeed needs growth - SPIRITUAL growth. In 2022, we see huge evil and huge chaos, yet we also saw the wonder and beautiful simplicity and meaning of love between monarch and people. We saw unity, beauty, strength, forgiveness and order then, and the contrast with Putin's evil and ordinary politicians' incompetence and lack of answers was made abundantly and beautifully clear. What the dry- and dull-speaking Liz needs most is the Holy Spirit, which is what I wish her wholeheartedly. Indeed, we pray for her regularly. Yes , Liz, you DO need to deliver the mission in a different way, and may God be with you on that!!!

@@confusedbutok Not that old chestnut again! Whichever God it is that is associated with the beloved Holy Spirit I referred to - who paid me a very helpful and life-changing visit on 28-2-21. I believe there are quite a few of us who would be OK with that God, but the entity taking the action all around us, doing the endless spadework, is the Holy Spirit. I love Him, and am tremendously grateful for His kindness and mercy shown.

It really does get worse. I want to wake from this never ending nightmare.

She was taken away from all the mess, but she performed her task to the end by reminding us that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life...
