Yes it is. And - we have been signed up to the European Convention on Human Rights since 1950, not 1997. In fact, we wrote most of it. What Blair's government did was make it easier for us to start an ECHR case - before 1997 we had to take the case through all British courts before we could go to Strasbourg. After 1997, British courts apply the ECHR directly, from the word go.

OK Liz, what happens to the Northern Irish peace process if Britain leaves the ECHR? The Good Friday Agreement uses it as a foundation part of the peace.

...shreds? Sliced, diced and chopped more likely 😂
In all seriousness, she’s clearly mad. Former colleagues have said so.
I was fully expecting her to say “Britons have been free for many, many years…and it’s about time this government ended it.”
Let's just listen to those words again. "We've got to leave the European Court of Human Rights, Abolish the Supreme Court and abolish the Human Rights Act." Those are the words of every dictator ever.

She is at least saying the quiet parts out loud - nobody can claim "Well she didn't _seem_ like an authoritarian dictator". So if she keeps her seat at the next election then that'll tell us a lot about at least one part of the UK.

You can be sure the people your parents worked for are fine. No financial worries at all. Their salaries reflected the work they did minus a big skim for the mangers. The median (typical) income in the UK is laughable.
Her ridiculous support for trump makes her an embarrassment to the UK. Never should have been a PM

Should never have been an MP! Standards were set so low when the UK electorate voted buffoon liar Boris as PM..
She does have a “unique perspective”. Nobody else looks at the world with their head so far up their own backside.
Utterly delusional. A _total_ waste of space....10 Years To Save The West? Every time I hear that, it reminds me of: "Flash, Flash, I _LOVE_ you, but we only have 14 hours to save the Earth." Only, _that_ was more profound. The West needs to be "saved" alright. From, her and Bannon and Trump and Farage and Braverman and Patel, etc. etc!

With Lizzes courage, we wouldn’t be in the deep mess we are now. Wrong footed hedge funds, Bwankers and all the greedy, selfish people living on huge debt couldn’t stomach the reality of their fake world. They will in the end take everyone else down with them.

One word: delusional
Abolish the human rights act? Absolutely bonkers.
It's simply astounding, the sheer amount of delusion Truss has. If she ever IS remembered, it will be for her catastrophic "go" at being PM. Just one in a line of Tory MPs having a go at the top job. She really has all the qualities required to make an adequate deputy manager in a regional Marks & Spencer clothing department.
