    2 things.... You can use chalk, like chalkboard chalk to silence the belt ( it fills the voids). Also to check belt tension you twist the belt and it should be able to twist to no more than 90° using medium to heavy force

    Thanks for the video... I've been messing around with the belt tension quite a bit and wondered if you had a very difficult time trying to align the motor? I did the same as you and used calipers to measure where the bolts line up on either side within the slots and find it extremely difficult. The amount of upward force on one side and downward force on the other to align the bolts makes me worry that I'm actually damaging the threads.

  • @motomachinezuk8786

    Yes just applying a little pressure and holding it still with the screwdriver. Motor moves so freely that this helps keep it still and in place. Mine is so much more quieter now not sure why it got louder tho that needs investigating. Unless it is just because belt drying out. Thank you and glad to hear it might help some people.

    Put a metal bar through big drive belt rotor so it locks it in place and put a wrench on the small belt nut and stand on the wrench and give a little jump on it and put all weight down on it and it’ll come loose.

  • @motomachinezuk8786

    @motomachinezuk8786

    3 жыл бұрын

    It could be the belt dry and stiff. I find mine can squeak when not used for a week or so and was cleaned. If its not tight then that probably the noise. It will go after a bit. Also I use 303 that was recommended to me on my belt now and I'm alot happier with it. Wonder if washing up liquid dries belt out a little. If belt is too tight then won't last long, could even effect bearings. Is if aligned correctly?

    Paid 4600 for the road version. Done 190 miles, cut the restrictor wire, because it was dangerously slow on a real road and the belt frayed and snapped at 196 miles. It's in the shop. Hopefully I've not voided my warranty. 4 days old 🤢 also never went above 35 and that was for like 5 seconds

    303 aerospace protectant is what I now use as quality stuff but that cheap belt protector aerosol is a very short fix personally I've not had joy with. I said that only my experience. Yes belt protector is like chain lube, a con. Only use 2stroke oil on chain with a brush to prevent rust. Keeps it looking tidy.
