Pride month has NOTHING to do with the pride in the bible. There are much more famous homosexuals in history and presence than you think, because homosexuals do not identify over their sexual orientation but over what they do in their professions. Many marry now and raise adopted kids in responsibility.

My Orthodox friends have all gone to public school, and nearly each one has something bad to show for it. One friend now has mixed feelings about whether homosexual relations are sinful. Another has begun swearing and using foul language occasionally. And my younger sister has become increasingly distant from her family. I know these people well, and I have full faith that they will move past these issues with Gods help. As for me, I am still homeschooled, but I have sinned by viewing pornography. Please pray for us Orthodox teenagers, the current world is very hard on us. Its hard on everyone.

I've been telling people, we can't accept heterosexual fornication sin, yet condemn homosexual sin. We have to be able to differentiate between our personal prejudice and our calling to tell the truth. I'm just a man that wants to be better, and i need Christ to help me.

  • @doriangray7723

Not just heterosexual fornication but the pornagraphy and lust. Even if a man looks upon a woman with lust he has committed adultery with her in his heart. Moreover, the issue isn't same-sex companionship, i.e., life partners it's sodomy that's the abomination. Sodomy is both oral and anal sex and is not exclusive to same-sex relationships. Heterosexuals need to also be called out for sodomy. It is the abomination because it's a perversion of what God intended reproductive organs for. This is also an abomination in the marriage bed. Again it's sodomy that's the actual abomination not same-sex relationships which can be intimate and non-sexual.

The difference is that one is how God intended it at least as far as mechanics, the other is a d3viation that causes medical harm in males (and in women who allow men to do so, which is equally as bad). Both are fornication in this scenario, which is sin, but one is more h3in0us than the other.

  • @doriangray7723

@LadyMaria NO! One is not worse than the other. Sodomy is both oral and anal sex and is an abomination in God's sight. It is perversion of what God intended for the reproductive organs. That's propagation of our species. It doesn't matter who is doing it.

  • @doriangray7723

    @doriangray7723

    3 күн бұрын

@LadyMaria SODOMY is an abomination regardless of who is engaging in it. SODOMY is both oral and anal sex. It's a perversion of the reproductive organs and propagation of our species. This is not exclusively a homosexual issue. People need to call out the abomination of sodomy not specific people. Same-sex attracted people can have non-sexual unions. Who we share our life/time with is choice. You do not have to be in a sexual relationship for intimacy. No sin in that. Some people simply have no desire for the opposite sex and sexual relationships with someone of the opposite sex. Some have little sex drive or no sex drive, making them asexual. We are all different.

This guy is not a seraphim. That sounds like pride. Taking on the name of the highest order of angelic beings. More over pride is an individual issue which many have. The other matter here is its not same-sex relationships that's an abomination but, sodomy. Sodomy is both oral and anal sex and is an abomination because it is a perversion of what God intended for the reproductive organs. Sexual immorality is rife in heterosexuals too. Today 80% of males and 40% of females are addicted to pornagraphy. Most men gay or straight look at others with lust. According to the Bible that is likened to committing adultery in their impure hearts. Pornagraphy falls in that category. Why people want to throw stones at one group of people is mind boggling. Homosexuals can choose their life partner. Homosexuals can have non-sexual unions. No sin in choosing a life companion. Marriage and propagation are individual choices.

GK Chesterton said that when men stop believing in God the danger isn’t that they won’t believe in anything but that they will believe anything. They will believe that a man can become a woman, or that being a woman is simply a state of mind, or that men can menstruate or give birth. A very short time ago these ideas would have rightly been judged as absurd…but no longer.

It's like saying that you can't use a computer mouse if you're allergic to rodents. It only works in English, because you use the same word for two different concepts. In Polish for example, what is promoted in pride month is called "duma", and the sin is called "pycha" "Duma" is pride from your accomplishments, from who you are, or not being ashamed. It's used in sentences like "I'm proud of my son", "I'm proud of successfully finishing university" or, well... "I'm proud to be gay", meaning "I'm not ashamed of my sexual orientation". "Pycha" is a lack of humbleness, being full of yourself, or "pride" as you call it. One of the 7 deadly sins in the Catholic Church. Do you really think parents can't be proud of their children, or that you can't be proud of your nationality? That would mean that patriotism is sinful.

Others identified them with their sexual orientation, and they were killed for it. They had enough and exited the bars and said they exist. Even now, within this video they are all grouped as one so they became a family. Because the Christians kicked then out of the church because their sin might infect others. They were told they are an abomination, some have never even heard the good news. Christians take pride in following Christ. Vegans announce they are vegan. All minority groups label themselves.

None of us are Godly. And it would be arrogant and heretical to say that we could be as such. Even the best of us, the chaste monks and nuns, even they cannot come close to Godliness. Thus is why penitence is what we should strive for. The orthodox Jesus prayer is such a wonderful example. We ask for God's grace and mercy all the time.

Just throwing this out there: the Bible advocates for a balanced parent-child relationship, where respect and honor are mutual. Parents are called to exercise their authority with love, wisdom, and compassion, so as not to cause pain, resentment or discouragement in their children. Too often people take the text literally ("the rod of correction" - Proverbs 29:15) and abuse children thinking they're following Christianity. But the goal is to guide and correct, not to harm or humiliate. When you've had abusive parents, honoring them does not mean tolerating abuse or maintaining a harmful relationship with them for the rest of your life, but rather setting limits, and honoring your own mental health first. They may have given you life, but that has never been a ticket to justify any kind of abuse. Your healing process is a form of honoring your parents by not allowing their actions to define or control your future. Here are some relevant examples from the Bible: OT: Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Deuteronomy 4:9; Proverbs 13:24; Proverbs 19:18; Proverbs 22:6; Proverbs 29:15 NT: Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:21; 1 Timothy 3:4-5; 1 Timothy 5:8; Titus 2:4; Hebrews 12:7-11

Our hearts should break for people who support Pride Month, which should lead to Christians reaching out with the Gospel. It's awesome to hear a preacher speak about sexual sin across the board, and not just the LGBTQ community. If more Christians admitted to the problem of sexual sin for hetero-sexual people (many who are Christians), I believe God would use that to open the door to many in the Pride community to reflect on their sinful behavior.

I think when someone has experienced trauma, they don’t have the guidance or help to know how to unpack that & heal. And may take comfort in whatever “sin“ they’re in. When people say "BEING gay is not a sin!"....within the narrow (and incomplete) definition they hold of the word "sin", they are correct. It is not a transgression of the Law. It is "merely" a manifestation of the effects of Adam's sin on the human race. But when we realize/discover that "sin" is also defined as "not being fully what God has intended us to be", or in other words, "missing the mark", then yes it is a "sin." Unfortunately the West has cast aside the "missing the mark" definition and concentrates solely on the "transgression of the Law" definition.

I thought that given that Jesus was tempted yet he did not give into these tempations, shows that being tempted is not the same thing as falling into sin. Just asking, because I'm basing this question of Hebrews 4:15 that says : "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin."

Or are they still something that shouldn’t be in the church at all? Like I said I disagree with the use of pews but I can see why they would need to be in my church. God bless ☦️

Never have I found a parish that is in complely english that's not ecumenist or western rite. So pls do stick to a ethnicity, if they have english liturgy's along side the ethnic one, no problem.

Indian is not Orthodox, it's from the Oriental communion. The others are in the Orthodox Church. Greek, Russian, Ukranian (not OCU), Bulgarian, Romanian, Serbian, Georgian, Orthodox Church in America, Antiochian, etc. These are canonical. I recommend the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR).

There are no coincidences. There are those that celebrate the sin, in the name of sin, and the sin celebrates in their participation. Do not be mistaken, you don't need to be gay or trans to celebrate the pride of those sins. You need only contribute to the celebration, or even just stand idly by while your neighbors turn to sin. Love your neighbors, speak out against satan's madness, do not tolerate the festivities of degenerate wickedness.

It's an American thing. Every June they have Pride month, meaning "proud to be LGBT" (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender). It's a cultural thing for them, a lot of companies and organizations having events, like parades or publishing books, etc. cultural events in recognition of LGBT people over there. That's about it. They also have a Black History month (to honour black people and their history in the US) and there are others, but Pride month and Black history month (I think that's in February) are the most famous thematic months. Don't think of them as official celebrations, as much as cultural, informal celebrations.

You mean they would dedicate a WHOLE MONTH to sin? Why would someone do that?

I am Orthodox and I have never in 17 years of Orthodoxy heard anybody Orthodox say just merely having a temptation is a sin. I've heard it said that that is the devil throwing darts at your mind and if you grab ahold of it and give into it that part is the sin. But just merely having the thought enter your mind is a sin? You cannot always control the thoughts that enter your head.

It depends if it is the same thought that repeatedly enters your mind. Then there is something about you that invites that into your mind/heart. Thus you are in some way participating in this connection and thus you are involved in sin. If a thought enters your mind once and you cast it out by prayer or fasting or simply positive thinking as Elder Thaddeus and others have said, then you are doing battle and you are closing your heart off from such attacks. But if you repeatedly have the same thing occur then you are not fighting that hard enough. So as with many things in Orthodoxy it is not simply yes/no. It's both and. So to have those thoughts is sinful, but to act upon them and entertain them is to engage in them and being sinful. But having sinful thoughts and combating them with proper conviction and faith then you are a sinner, but you are a repenting sinner and your heart is softening to be a growing fruitful ground for the word of God. Hope this helps.
