Marriage is being trashed today, because clearly Beelzebub knows that marriage binds the family and the family is the smallest unit of society. Destroy the family and society goes with it..

The phrase ‘women being taught to be more whorelike in their behaviour’ caught my attention. When women look at pornography their behaviour is described as ‘whorelike’, but what is the word used to describe what men’s behaviour is like when they look at pornography? Of course, looking at pornography is a disgusting thing for either sex to do, but it seems to me that there is a culture of women being more frowned upon than men if they look at pornography. We are told that women who look at pornography have behaviour that is ‘whorelike’ but men who look at pornography need ‘sympathy’ 🤔.

My wife divested herself of me in 2019. Painfully she went to be with my best friend. We have been married for 11 years and I've been low of spirit for the past 3 years she moved out last November and I've been heartbroken since she revealed she had feelings for him. We have a son and we are sharing custody. I've been incredibly angry and sorrowful but not with her. The way things have progressed it feels like it was planned to destroy my spirit and leave me to drown in a sea of heartbreak. I've since returned to Jesus Christ Almighty. Lord save me from the sorrow and pain of this loss 🙏🏽☦️.

You stopped fighting for your marriage long before she left. It's not all your fault though. Modern idealogy, cultural norms, and sedative habits all shut down your natural warning bells to some degree. Once you supress those natural warnings you end up like that meme with the dog sitting in a house fire: "Everything is fine". And you probably truly believed the lie. But your not alone. We're all in the same struggle. Help others wake up to those warning bells. And most definitely help your son. God bless.

It’s a terrifying thought really. “Unknowingly” means you don’t know. So you, me, this man speaking, could all be worshiping the Devil in ways we are unaware of. It’s like saying there are sinners who are aware of what sins they are committing and then there are sinners who unaware of the sins they are committing. Unless we decide this man speaking is 100% pure, holy and righteous, which no humans are in my belief, then there must be sins even he is unaware of within himself, no? I’ve idolized Christ for 30 years, and in that time I have been repeatedly shown where I was falling short. When I was younger I had a stronger tendency to blame it on other individuals, groups or society at large, which I see is still a popular approach among people of any faith, or lack thereof.

The "exception" in Matthew 19 is speaking about a remarriage, not a legitimate marriage. A remarriage is adultery as you said, therefore it is sexual immorality to be "married" to another while your original spouse is still living and in such case you should divorce that person and reconcile to your original spouse. The only exception given to marry another is if your original spouse passes away, then you are free to marry another and it isn't adultery. When Jesus was asked about why Moses permitted divorce Jesus said it was due to the hardness of their hearts that he wrote them that precept but from the beginning it was not so. Hard hearted people do not enter the Kingdom of God. God bless.

@@jamesbarger5241yeah, that's pretty good! Divorce is terrible, and grave. But adultery is even worse, as it is a sin against your own body and it is against another. Marrying another after divorce is adding one sin upon another. I don't know why Christians do it. And I'm trying really hard to say that in a non-judgemental way. It just seems contrary to Christ's direct words, as you reference in your comment.

I have never been able to be vulnerable to my wife until I kicked those demons. I did it with Christ’s help, as this was something that was as much a part of my life as eating meals. When I made my view on marriage known and that it would be best for her not to give up on it, she point blank told me I wasn't allowed to discuss marriage/relationships with her anymore since our views are so different! She now complains how hard it is to provide for her 2 daughters financially, how tired she is, the daughters' acting up since she "acts one way at Daddy's house, another at Mommy's". Instead she still believes that dating a felon, smoking pot, and who knows what else is what's best for her and her daughters.

I have such deep respect for Orthodox Christian priests, especially the ones I’ve heard so far in this channel. Here, in particular, Fr. Josiah, being very gentle in his manner of speech and respectful in his choice of words, and yet very authentic and straightforward in presenting the convictions of the church. No need to add flair or to emotionalize. I’m a Protestant inquiring of Orthodoxy, and I’m greatly blessed by the richness and depth of this sermon. Glory to God! 🙌

Yes, so men have been practicing whoredoms for centuries. Referencing women as whores and not men is double standards. Whores are whores regardless of biological sexual classifications. God has one standard of goodness and righteousness for all. You are right about feminity being a man made tradition. Aside from reproductive organs and secondary sexual characteristics masculinity and feminity are qualities that we all have and can develop. Kindness, gentleness, compassion, patience, tenderness, etc., aren't feminine qualities. Assertiveness, mental endurance, courage, sound mind, just, wisdom, mercy, are not masculine qualities. And any other qualities and characteristics you can dream up are not masculine or feminine but human. Possible for mortals. Moreover, aren't we all to embody the characteristics of Christ? Did the Bible say, there's male and female in Christ? The male and female serve the sole purpose of propagation of our species. How a husband and wife at any given time work out the responsibilities and obligations of running a home and raising children is between them. Certainly, there's no continuing type in history. People did what they had to do for survival. Men, women and children still labor side by side under the sun. Naturally from the dawn of time there's been class differences as well. I hate when men start touted about things they have no understanding of. The whole duty of man (fe/male) is to keep God's commandments. Nothing more or less. Seems people want to dictate how we should all live and every aspect of our lives they want control over. Smh Christ is sufficient.

As a Roman Catholic, there’s always one thing that I respect deeply about orthodoxy, and it’s their priest direct nature they do not beat around the bush. A tough love approach. I’m not saying a Catholic priest can’t but in my experience they tend have a more gentle approach and I’ve never heard them Use the words “whore like.” And I gotta be honest I not only respect it, but it is incredibly refreshing.

Yes, they are not cruel or mean. But they do speak straightforwardly even as every priest i have dealt with has been deeply kind. It is part of facing sin for what it is and naming it.. for our salvation.. No obfuscation. Letting their "yay be yay" and their "nay be nay". From the outside world, based on what is out there, both in ways that try to just gloss over sin and not face it or to be haranguing about it, going to Holy Confession seems something to be frightened of. Actually it proves to be a great, great relief to lay down those burdens. Holy Confession is one of the greatest blessings in the world. As i type this i find myself deeply longing for everyone to have that blessing. I wonder what the results would be in our world if they could feel those burdens lifted? ☦☦

@@keerankenny4374 it’s human nature to desire a partner. I’ve always wanted a partner to have a future with, grow a family with but I was focused on me first then that later. The whole point of us on earth is to “be fruitful and multiply” so let us be fruitful ! Let us bear the fruits of true love and happiness only given by God himself. Marriage is a reflection of Christs relationship with the church. You dont have to get married, in fact Paul says in Corinthians “I hope you all stay unmarried as me so you can focus completely on God” but we have the choice. Getting married doesn’t make God love you more. But marriage is holy and a reflection of him. I want to serve my future husband just like I want to serve my father in heaven.

They have never been perfect but they always worked everything out and got where we needed to be. They always loved us and supported us and taught us how important marriage and family was. My father always told us that we would never be truly living until we had a family of our own. Boy does that man know what he's talking about! I always tell my father, I credit him for my wonderful family because if it wasn't for him, none of it would be possible. I chose a good strong man because I was raised by one. I want to be a fantastic mother and wife because I was raised by one. Just so very important Godly and family values into my children so that they have a Fighting Chance in This world. My love for God and my love for my family is absolutely everything to me. I am so appreciative of people starting to focus on what's really important and pushing away the evil that is trying to tear us away from that. God bless you all!

This video came out at such a perfect time for my situation. I have just finished watching it now and it has just ticked past midnight over into my wife's birthday. I cherish her a lot, although struggle with pornography consumption and whether or not we are orthodox (both of us are through birth) or something else. This advice will help me get on the right track and strengthen our bond. Thank you Fr. Trenham for the great advice!

My dream was to be in a faithful marriage unfortunately after many years of marriage and having children I found out my husband was living a double life he is gay. My life was shattered and the blessing of a Godly family setting shattered me. I still after 20 years carry wounds but I have been blessed with wonderful children.

In Catholic exorcism when husband demanded they pray above him his wife stopped manifesting demons (when they were not able to pray above her). You are ONE BODY, you can pray to our Lord that He can make your husband lose any wrong fleshly desires and come back to you since you are one body.

Exactly. It is very wrong to suggest that marriage is a necessity of the Christian life. The celibate single life is just as worthy.

When I was a young man, my home centered around making money--the more the better. I was not exactly like this, myself, but I did want a career in politics and to matter, somehow, in this world. I thought of casual sex with women as a business transaction. I'm now divorced--but was married to two women who used my own fleshly desire to strip me to the bones. At age 44 I surrendered and made Christ my savior. I'm now 62 and not married, but I have a great deal of peace in my life, a peace that passes all understanding. I understand why many, many men are no longer interested in marriage, even if it means they are no longer get to enjoy the blessing of marital sex. IMHO, men have not become afraid of women; they've become afraid of the state. Again, IMHO, the state is out to destroy people, by first destroying the family. It is as if the head is being removed from the body--and our culture is in doom if we head down this path. Thanks for reading.

Having been married to such a beautiful women and now that she's home with Jesus and me now learning to live without, really brings home what a good marriage is, by the things I'm missing. I've tried looking for a similar happiness that I remember, but can't find it. Something holy, beyond human is happening in that God given bond. This message is what this world needs. Thanks for this teaching. God bless!

Social media has contributed to mental health declines, but people won't admit it's mostly the real cause is the lack of faith and marriage. Teens and young children complain on TikTok about their depression, it's due to their loneliness and not spending time outside with other people. Adults no longer find comfort in others like they used to, going to volunteer, community and church. People complain about being alone while isolating themselves and thus struggle to find a partner. And the world wonders why it has such low birth rates.

We have only recently discovered the orthodox church, and in just a couple weeks our hearts have become so much more full. It always felt as though there was something missing in other denominations for us, and for years we left the church completely. In the last year, we've been searching for a sign as to what would be best for our little family, and I feel so overjoyed and filled with love to the point of tears in the thought of raising our sweet little boy in the Orthodox church and teaching him to love Christ. We've replaced our time in the evening watching news and podcasts into watching these videos and reading our Bible together instead. We can not wait to find a church and begin the process of conversion, so we may earn our place in the church family. God bless you, Father, and thank you a million times over for sharing this beautiful gift with the world.

But based on the kind of videos I watch, KZread suggested this and I thought to listen for a few minutes and more on but was I hooked to the very end! And I intend to listen to it again this tie with my notebook. Thank you sir

No one doubts that love, respect and unity are very important in a family, whether it is Christian or not. Also the downfall of Christianity in modern times is not merely due to it being persecuted by external demonic forces, but also by corruption within its own institutions.
