I’m a Brit, and looking at Ronald Reagan from a non political point of view, I think he was a nice guy who tried his best. Seemed like a very approachable guy with a sharp wit and a deep sense of duty doing a very difficult job. After all, you can’t please all of the people all of the time. The world, as I see it, needs more people like him.

President Eisenhower was beginning his second term the year I was born and the Johnson Goldwater 64 campaign was my first vivid memories of a President. My first vivid memories of Reagan started two years later when he was elected Governor of my home state of California. I thought he was a good Governor and a great President. He was the greatest president of my lifetime and, so far, he still is! As an aside I often think about Kennedy and the promise we saw in him before he was cut down and his promise not fully realized.

Well Sir, Ronald Reagan has been the best President of my adulthood (I'm 57). He was a true American, Patriot, Statesman, Leader, who truly cared about America and it's citizens. He protected America, it's people, and it's honor. When terrorists murdered American citizen Leon Klinghoffer on the Achille Lauro, President Reagan sent the military after them. When General Dozier was kidnapped by the Red Brigade in Italy, he was responsible for Dozier's rescue. He put Gaddafi in his place. Can you imagine how much better off America would be if he'd been in office on 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Minneapolis, the Coronavirus pandemic... And I too wonder about JFK and his brother and the good they would have been able to do had they not been assassinated. I think about President Truman who was Vice President and became President when FDR died. Truman was regular people. One of the FEW presidents who wasn't a millionaire. He and First Lady Bess received the first two Medicare cards ... Neither he, Kennedy, or Reagan would have stood for the pitiful social security benefits that people have to live with today. None of those Presidents would have dared to publically express like for a quote by a dictator (Mussolini) who was responsible for the murder of thousands of Italians from 1923-1945. America is in dire need of someone just like Ronald Reagan.
