The speech of Charles Henston...left me in tears. How the mighty have fallen 😥
Beautiful, heartwarming, the flag and the national anthem were respected, we were not censored, nor were we ashamed to sing out publicly ~ GOD BLESS AMERICA ~ "marriage" was still a sacred institution and the bedrock of family and child-rearing (not some twisted kind of unisexual, contractual partnership), and the word "Gay" was still a synonym for the word "happy." I am thankful to be growing old now because almost all of our genuine America has passed on, and I no longer fear death but anxiously await the day that I can catch up with the America and these Americans I miss so much.

Looking from across the Atlantic in chilly UK and looking back with fondness on the graciousness, humour and eloquence of President Reagan, our thoughts are with our American brothers and sisters that they might rediscover some of this charm and hope today.
I’m British but I was lucky enough to live and work in the US for ten years. I loved that country and am saddened by events. How I wish I could get back to this - the world would be so much better !
I started bawling at Charlton Heston all the way to the end. Dear God, how I miss those times. Our country has changed so much, it’s almost unrecognizable. God bless you, Dutch.

I was in high school on a naval base in Europe when President Reagan was elected and later shot. We loved our country; we loved our president. I couldn’t find anything “wrong” with him. I agreed with him. He made sense. He wasn’t harsh or hateful. My parents always voted Democrat; I became a conservative!! My heart breaks over the divisiveness of our citizens now.
There's a genuine sweetness in this program that had already started to fade in the 1960s and, today, is gone completely. The Reagans and these stars may have seemed old fashioned to the hip and the young, but what did those mulletheads know anyway? Flock of Seagulls, Bonjovi and Berlin were over on MTV. Reagan and his friends and wife were traditional in all the positive ways that made us happier to have known their genteel civility and kindness.

Amen to that truth!
I sat here and reminisced and wondered just how far we've dropped off the wayside to perhaps the lowest level since the Reagan Presidency about common decency, respect, loyalty and honor. Lord only knows how far away as a Nation we've drifted apart and away almost in oblivion. Charlton Heston's said so eloquently in his speach not only to the Reagan's about the core values and embodiment of our Four Father's Legacy's. But the reason why it should remembered, honored and cherished. RIP to the Reagan's and some of the participants in this unique celebrations of perhaps one of our greatest US Presidents to date.
Back in the days when our Presidents and First Ladies truly were Presidential. And when most of America's media was far more respectable of the occupants of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Watching this video reminds me of what's been missing for far too long from American leadership. Thank you for putting this video on KZread! Andy McKane, 9 January 2023.
Life so simple back them, and love all the movies, TV variety shows! We need those days again were all got along !
Thank you for posting this. Though the times were turbulent back then, times seem more turbulent today with Covid19 and social unrest. God Bless America.
What a man and a beautiful voice . President Reagan was a true great of our times. When you compare what the USA has got now in the top job... night and day
