Prepping the inside of the of the 69 Mach 1 for red epoxy and schutz coating.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey Gang, I'm making more progress on the Mach 1 Cobra Jet. I work on prepping the inside of the car for seam sealer epoxy primer. I used information from Jerry Heasley to help make my decisions. I used products from PPG, 3M schutz, and BASF. Good things are coming.

Your Gopro is learning bad habits from mine I see. The car is looking great. Just imagine if the paints and sealants we have now existed back then how much longer the cars would have lasted and how much better shape they would be in now.

This channel has given me plenty of ideas for doing two of my future projects. A 1970 Torino GT and a 1967 Mustang. I’ll keep watching because I’m sure there will be more little kernels of knowledge that can help on my projects.

You can use wd40 on you glove to wipe the seam sealer and it will be very smooth.

Among the many things that I love about you, Barry, is your modesty. This work is meticulous and excellent. Smashing job! Also, I think you'd make an excellent teacher. Your videos are super informative, and you have endless patience.

I like the factory look with seam sealer. Chrysler use to run the car bodies through a vat of primer that covered inside and out about 24 inches up the body nothing above that. Some cars I’ve worked on had primer under seam sealer but most not. I think seam sealer person was on break when body passed or reloading. And got sealer down the line. Sometimes looks like applied with fire hose😂

Well, you have to remember that water vapor collects at the top of things, to, if your blocking the top, its all gonna collect at the top and sit there n be the last to dry.

I noticed that You said You didn't want to put to much metal on the roof joint - I guess You're talking about soldering the seam here? I've solved this problem - where I was restoring the surface from pitting, by using only the primer - the tinning stage. Saved a few classic motorcycle fuel tanks, that way.
