I was at the 2002 Chicago Auto Show. After seeing/smelling the burnout, I said to myself, "I have to have one of those." As a 21 year old college kid, that dream would have to wait until November 2015 when I found a low mileage, 03 DSG at a fair price. Still have it today as my daily driver. As for the 2002 Chicago Auto Show, I took some pictures with my über sweet 35mm camera. Took them to a one hour photo place to have them developed. Still have the photos today. Sadly, I only got shots of the red convertible 03 once they moved it off stage. I keep the photos in a firesafe box and when I am in the box to get documents or a passport or whatever, I see the photos. When I look at the pictures, I can still hear and smell the burnout.

All five destroyed?? NNNOOOOOOOO, I really wish they kept these cars because they would have been worth allot today. Zinc Yellow, Colorado Red, and Comp Orange...nevermind all the colors for these Terminators are cool. I love these Cobras and always wanted one since I was 18 (2003) but could never afford one, even still to this day. I was 18 years old and driving my 97' GT around town and then I heard this whining high pitch sound pulling up next to me. It was a Zinc Yellow coupe with MagnaFlow Exhaust and I fell in love at that moment. I never liked Yellow until this car and it looks sweet with chrome. I am curious as to how they can save parts from the crusher and then wheel them back to the production line for new cars. This is a great story and one of my favorites so far. Thank you for the video and Terminator knowledge that I never knew.

Lately ive been goin back to the terminator and although i love all 3 mustangs all 3 are special the terminator is it for me...theyre just so iconic and timeless and it is amazing how a car from nearly 20 years ago competes so well in the modded world against the modern cars and there easy to make horsepower ways.

@@Bendejo6517 this is what happened to me. I wanted a cobra since 2002 and when I finally got in position to buy one circa 2019-2020 the early gt500 were just as cheap and sometimes cheaper I ended up grabbing an 07 gt500 for 16500 with 100k and a clean title. It isnt perfect it is a driver 20 footer but looks great and runs excellent. Cheapest one I ever saw that wasn't totaled lol. By this time it was impossible to get a terminator for 16 grand unless it was a piece of crap with 250k and salvage title lol. It was hard for me to justify paying so much more for a terminator when the gt500 is the better car top to bottom. Years ago when the terminator was half the price of gt500s it made perfect sense and was much better bang for the buck but today the prices have twisted so much the gt500 is the better buy lol. But lately both have been appreciating in value and I think they will continue to. The rods were better on the cobra but everything else was better on the gt500. They can still take 700-800+ to the wheels on a stock untouched long block with a blower swap. The irs vs solid axel depends on what you want to do with it I prefer solid axle another win for the gt500. I will always love terminators but the prices have gone up so much now I'm not sure I'll ever own one but at least I got a good deal on a gt500 before they started to sky rocket after bottoming out on value.
