    Awesome video! I have a question. I built my daughter's power wheels Jeep to 12v switchable to 24v and back parallel 😎 used 2 12v 18ah big boys under the seat. What motor would be perfect? I would like it to be as fast stock motor on 24v. So when on 12v it's still same or slightly faster. Thank you for any help. Cheers!

  • @daveprototype6079

    @@mikesheely5599 Motor to first gear is high rpms off motor; second to third gear has a great reduction in rpms so there is less torque on the gears. Therefore they can handle the forces on them and do not need to be upgraded.

  • @kkustomz1

    @kkustomz1

    @@mikesheely5599 the electric braking system is what would want to break the first gear tooth, with increased voltage and increased speed throughout the gear box, when the kids lets off the accelerator it will try to instantly stop the gear box and first gear will break….which is not needed in a performance power wheel application. (I would never run a metal gear in a one of these gear boxes) Now stripping a stock power wheels first gear tooth is normally done by increasing the voltage and the increased friction on the gear shaft melts the plastic housing allowing the pin to move away and now the gear strips out. Installing roller bearings in the plastic gears resolves this issue as next would be to install a esc.

    Looks like the. Shaft that u installed the new gear and the bearing. Is going to pop out. Through the side u used the tool to punch out the old shaft. Because the diameter is smaller than the old shaft and with the friction little by little looks like is going to pop out of place and fall out through the gear box ?

    Power wheels cars has DIFFERENT gear ratios and different Internal gears. The Porches has 17T Pinon.............13" outside dia wheels The Mustang or Lighting has 19T....11" od wheels ( gear box in video) The C7 corvett has 23T pinon.........10" od wheels (smaller pin for gears) I have different powerswheels....ALL of them have DIFFERENT gearbox,lol Not all brushed motors are the same....due to size , wining. magnets. more RMP = LESS TORQUE....( lower Turn whining such as 10T has more torque)..Stock power wheels are 12T...( 12-18V) You can run stock set up on 18V on pavement ( the back wheels spinning less grip...acts like slipper clutch...so it wont damage the gears. If you install 770 motor ( BIGGER..to handle the 24V) You need to install 23-25T PINON...770 has LOWER RPM. 770 also has bigger SHAFT diameter. ( stock pinon wont fit) ML TOYS SUCK with customer service..... MOST PARENT..dont know about different power wheels SPEC , different gearbox or even understand the electric motors ratings... to ask for the correct parts they need.... MLTOYs...customer service....dont HELP YOu must take the gearbox you have apart...to KNOW exaclty what you're dealing with. It depends on the kids/ weight. ( kids will be kids)..some bounce on it...when they're driving..lmao. Anyways....it's the gripping on grass or slamming in the cars to reverse that will strip the gear... ( the TWO GEARS in the CENTER...are what strips on mine.lol) Not the one he's replacing.lol FU$K THat...They want $40 -ea just for that gear..you need 2-ea.. but you'll still need the other gears...(money pit) It's cheaper to just purchase USED POWERPOWER wheels to replace gearbox....out just get different used power wheels...every 2-3 months.. It depends on the kids...Some out grow it..becuase stock arnt fast.. Or just install 24-36 500 WATT SCOOTER motors live axle or 48V 1000watt for the older kids... Bascailly convert it into a Go kart.. ( 10-20 mph) You dont have run it on 48v.....There's speed ( governers) on ESC. The cars go as fast as i wat them to go...( I install the batteries.lol) So they can drive it...until they're 10-12 year old. It's a $250 investment...but it's worth it. Or just do kids go kart conversion..you can get used kids racing go kart form $300-$500..you dont need it working. The gas motors (NOISE) will PISS off the Nieghbours. just install 1800-2000watt BRUHSLESS motors. ( $150) YOu dont need it that fast....until they're 12 years old.lol If you have the motor/ live axle....you can swap it to different wack/hack powerwheels cars...( my grand kids are spoil....they like to dive different cars)..lmao It's just the BODY.... My grand kid havnt out grown them...becuase I make Them FAST and fun to drive..The 20 month old is on 18v LIPO or 24 lion....doing donuts and power slide...even she wont drive in on 12V...lmao

    Well shucks...How do we normal dads get our hands on a piece like you made with the two large bearings that fit with the little bearings? I'm thinking we need a 3d printed gear that fits with the factory shaft and bolt and then somehow fits into the circular metal gear piece. Someone make this. I will provide you a drawing :-)

    Dave Prototype ..ive done that..it stripped the steel gears!!!...to much heat from spinning the rpm i was spinning...right at 45,000 rpm..it had the plastic tires without the traction grips..i personally think the plastic gears handle the heat better..but with any type of traction , they will definitely strip faster..

    Is this video just to show how cool you are that you can make your own Parts? I fail to see the point in watching a 10 minute video where you slowly unscrew/screw and provide bleeding detail about how to do all the obvious things and then quickly gloss over that you made some parts and not providing any specs on how you created or acquired those parts that really seem to be essential. Possibly you didn't think this through very well as or may be very obvious to you how "to make this part that just fits in here"
