If you bridge the diaphragm switch, should the heater pilot ignite? I'm having the exact symptoms you mentioned, but when I bridge the switch I can hear clicking, but I do not have a pilot light. I was wondering if perhaps the igniter may be bad?

Yes, it should. Look closely, with the lights off. The ignitor should be sparking. If it is, its fine, and your gas valve is likely not turning on.

Why would a power vent water heater plastic hose continuously drain water

I just got a brand new Rheem hot water heater with the gas then on top. But why does the fan run when I’m not even running water or need to use something that to heat up the water? I thought I would save more on my electricity, bill and water bill but it’s just quite the opposite.
