Great class!

Just replaced my previous AO Smith Power Vent residential 40 gal GPSH40 Honeywell with the one in this video with AO Smith Power Vent residential 40 gal model G6PVT405ONV it is noticeably quieter. Got 11 1/2 years out of the previous one. Pipes (water & gas) lined up perfectly although the unit is taller so the PVC for the power vent required minimal modification.

Thanks for technical details. What is the exhausted air temperature? So it wont melt PVC pipe. Like to see comparison between power vent vs power direct vent

I bought this AWESOME new Power Vent to replace the "ole-School"( 23 years!!) power vent. 2 questions: 1) The 23 year old install had a 3" PVC exhaust as well as 3" combustion air supply... Can I discard the 3" air supply ( Dang Drafty in the north at minus 20 degrees in the winter!) 2.) Installation gives me the option to use the 2" Schedule 40 PVC which will be way better in my mechanical room; Can this be Common Vented with my 90%eff Natural Gas furnace ( also power vented ) ??

Can I jump the pressure switch after the inducer comes on just to check the p/s is at fault?

How about letting me hear the sound of the blower?I just want to know if its as loud as my last one because heating water on the stove is preferable to listening to the blower go off & when my cats were in the basement the sound scared them & they ran upstairs.It a lot more peaceful around here since my AO Smith quit working.

Hi +coldfreshwater! Unfortunately, A.O. Smith does not measure or provide the decibel rating for this blower, so we’re unsure of the noise level, too.
