This upgraded Rodimus Prime looks like he can pick up and throw Galvatron even further than he did in the movie! Amazing that just a couple of upgrades have made him look even bigger!

Hot Rod/Rodimus is one of my favorite characters. This is my third of 3 in my collection of him, I have currently four different Optimus Primes including PotP. I ordered this kit and can’t wait to add it on

Pretty sturdy too! I've installed that shoulder piece a bunch of times and it doesn't feel like it's going to crack. Just the perfect amount of flex to it.

The upgrade kit actually looks really good on him especially the chest piece.

Where can I get that power master gun?

I had considered getting this upgrade kit until the Kingdom Rodimus Prime was revealed. Now my PoTP bot stays in the space Winnebago mode which does look better than that newer figure. There is another upgrade kit for this mold that gives him articulated fingers and dual pistols called "Shockwave's Lab SL-34/36". The dual blasters are nice weapons for the Hot Rod component itself. However the hands on that kit seems overkill, the fingers are articulated to the point that they feel too weak to hold on to weapons.

Very good video and thank you for showing how to make one of my characters a better figure. Do you know if the maker of the add on kit also did a version for the Rodimus Unicronus?

Not sure. The auctions don't show him in vehicle mode with them so I'd guess not.

That shoulder piece kinda makes his shoulders look a little bit too high and not much of a neck. It doesn't look horrible or anything, just my opinion.

I could see it if you're using this Rodimus on an MP shelf. Otherwise I agree pretty redundant considering how good Kingdom Roddy turned out.

I'm not sure the vehicle mode of Kingdom Roddy is the best tbh.

@@TF80s I think it's much better than this one. The kingdom one doesn't have terrible stickers that peel off when you play with the toy.

@@TF80s I can concede the alt mode is slightly better than Kingdom. I actually really enjoy the attack sled in bot mode though. The old FP hit both(alt and sled)slightly better than either figure, but Kingdom core bot completely demolishes them both. I consider both FP and TR obsolete as a Mainline Rodimus Prime. That's not to say everyone needs to feel that way, just my opinion.

Because as collectors, we still keep and collect all variations of a character new AND old. I've never understood the "Out With The Old- In With The New" Mentality of collecting. 🤷🤦 Upgrading an older figure of a character is still 100% worth it, as well as purchasing the newer version of that character; and so on and so forth... 👌 😉
