He's a big beefy boy. Definitely agree that he gives off the Powermaster vibes.

Great review Michael Mercy!!!!!!! Rodimus Prime is one of my favorite Transformers figures from the power of the Primes line. :D I sometimes use the inner robot as Rodimus Prime and have him stand next to Titans Return Hot Rod, and then the large robot that is made from combining the trailer I call Powermaster Rodimus Prime. :D Keep on being amazing.

Glad you enjoyed him as much, and in all the same ways, as I did, Moon! And not at all surprised (plus a little relieved) you found all the same flaws in him. He's tops as a Powermaster G1 addition... and the less said about the rest, the better ;)

I have this figure myself, and would really like to get those upgrades for him also. I feel that those little tweaks would make a huge difference in his appearance as a figure, for sure. The idea of THIS guy being a Powermaster is pretty genius, and looks fantastic alongside G1 PMOP! (I'm hoping that Hasbro will eventually give us a bigger, more articulated version of PMOP, done correctly, as a BIG & BULKY figure in his G1-esque look & style, but based on the basic concept mechanics of the Titans Return/PotP PMOP figures, BUT WITHOUT the massive flaws of BOTH end results, released as a Commander Class figure.) Anyway, having a Powermaster HotRod/Rodimus Prime in my G1 collection would be awesome, so I think I may look into customizing a Powermaster engine for him as well. I have been wondering what I could do with this guy, once the Kingdom Rodimus was announced, and now I have the solution. This is great! That said... Michael, I REALLY think you SHOULD pick up the movie version Rodimus Prime... If you don't, I think you'll regret it later, because there's really a LOT going on there, same with the "voyager" HotRod... These are basically MP figures in a standard format, for all intents & purposes, WITHOUT the insane MP price point for each.

It never came across to me that this guy could be used as a Powermaster Rodimus, but now it makes total sense. Now that I got Kingdom Rodimus I think I'll just join the bandwagon and have him be alongside my G1s. Depending on how the upgrades look in the next video I might have to get them too. It's also nice to see Rodimus get some love.

I liked him from the beginning. I love that he combined with the trailer. I know he's not screen accurate like the Kingdom version but this one was the first to look like a proper soldier and leader.

@24:00 in I agree with being able to transform the figure without looking at the instructions. Used to to collect more masterpiece than mainline. But as I get older i just wanna relax and flip a figure back and forth without it taking 10-20mn lol.

You definitely gotta check out the kingdom rodimus prime along with alot of the kingdom studio series 86 line. Kinda like the idea that this is a powermaster rodimus

I like this rodimus for what he is.

I have this toy, but I now have the Kingdom Rodimus Prime and he looks amazing. I like how he has the sword of Primus. The POTP Rodimus Prime was good for the time it came out but still too chunky. Michael I reccomend getting a Kingdom Rodimus, I know you said in one of your livestreams you were going to pass, but he comes with a lot of cool stuff. Also yes Kingdom Rodimus can Spartan Kick

I'm eager for Kingdom Rodimus, as he seems very "Unfinished Business" to me with all the stuff his trailer can do like Optimus's that the G1 original could not.

That is an awesome Power of the Primes Rodimus Prime. The colors and articulation is great and Master Piece like. I like how the chest separete from the body and becomes Hot Rod and then transforms into the Cybertonian Hot Rod vehicle, it is so awesome and exciting to watch in your video. You have the coolest stuff Michael and you so totally rock.

Very '86. What a chunky beast though! Probably the toughest looking version. You're the master of posing transformers Michael!

I think it's about time for my yearly rewatch of the 80s Toy Museum Virtual Tour. I've kinda slacked off of Transformers lately because I have other more expensive hobbies but I still love 80s toys. Great work as always, Mike.

I have the kingdom rodimus and love it but (besides the back) I can’t see what people don’t like about the look of this, I really think It looks amazing. After this video I’m considering buying this.

Got the Rodimus Unicronus version of this....it's a great toy...but it reminds me of Lemmy from Motorhead!!

I have the rodimus Unicronus version and i also got the upgrade kit and i replaced the hands with possable hands

For what it's worth, the guns on mine have held together fine, so it's not an inherent defect.

I own his evil counterpart Rodimus Unicronus and I keep him in Giant Robot mode about 90 percent of the time because he looks very cool and he towers over most of my collection. If I wasn't a mold collector ( which does limit me) I would probably own this figure. He's pretty much in the top 5 of my collection due to his sheer presence.

I guess the people at Hasbro were thinking “Why have just power master Optimus prime, we need to make a power master version of Rodimus as well“

I didn't like this model and ToysRUs actually gave me my money back as it seemed a lot of ppl were returning it too. Used the money for the Rodimus Unicronus and just kept it in the box after i opened it once to see what's different.

Idk if it is the light but your rodimus head on this toy on the video while he was still in the box, looks like he has alpha trion's bread lol I can't be the only one that can see it

Strike that last comment, after seeing the hot rod (from the elbows down absolutely terrible), hot rod car mode and rodmus alt mode, this is a big no, but rodimus as robot looks amazing I believe anyway.

Gorgeous figure.

It's a good figure but I wish for a better face sculpt.

Yeah the adult collector market is over complicated with various different small little parts that you have to change to complete the transformation it's too complicated

Does the matrix fit in G1 Optimus Prime?

Was never a huge fan of this one, especially now that we have better options in terms of both Hot Rod and Rodimus with SS86 and the Kingdom commander class release. It's not the worst figure ever, but...dunno, just never liked it that much. I have mixed feelings on the Prime Wars trilogy in general, honestly, especially now that we've had Siege, Earthrise and Kingdom. There were some decent releases but some just...weren't that great.
