@y_r_m_p do you use traditional amps? If so, it sounds like you need an amp modeler or sim and dedicated free time after the kids are in bed. That's what helped me get more time in, I sold all my amps and went digital and haven't looked back since

@@mattschmitt9924Get a cheap guitar if you don't have it already and put it in the place in the house you're in the most. Pick it up every day. doesn't matter if you play, if you have it in your hands you'll naturally want to start doing stuff. Never let life get in the way of things you enjoy, it takes up only 10 minutes to do some fun stuff but a lifetime of waiting around and regretting things

@@AmericanNationalist852 Been playing for 20+ years now, can play some polyphia songs, an amp modeler has definitely helped make practicing easier, but when i was younger I used to have no responsibilities and minimal hobbies. Now being 29 with other hobbies and a career etc, it has definitely limited my time to practice. I'm lucky to get an hour a day to practice nowadays.

Really is amazing seeing top-tier guitarists do stuff like this. Way back in the day, you'd never, ever see anything even close to this, or if you did, it was being sold on a direct-to-VHS deal. And here's Tim (and the rest of Polyphia), doing it all for free multiple times a year.

It screwed me really badly when I started using one even with a violin but it gets much better over time and nothing beats something that's actually consistent 99.99% of the time compared to our brains which may not be as consistent. @@pixelgamer5614I have seen them live. Unfortunately they only really played Euphoria and Nightmare (love these songs all the same, but they're pretty much the only tracks off that album that are played live anymore) so maybe unlucky for me setlist wise. Would've loved to hear songs like Ivory, Culture Shock or Paradise. That said, I do wanna see them again so maybe that will be the one for me haha.

@@Luje_YT2020same here. That record for me is like the perfect middle ground of modern Polyphia vibes and sounds. R&B and hip-hop influences in some places, melodic Vai era virtuosic playing (and whammy flutters up the wazoo to boot haha) and great grooves. a bit of thumping (bittersweet), etc . All their stuff is great of course but there's just something about that album in particular that just hits right the entire way through for me. I really can't say enough good things about Renaissance as a whole.

If not, it's all good brother, I've spent 10$ on W6RST things.. can't wait to see your show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤙

Just got back from the show. They weren't mic'd! No shout outs :( but show was amazing and it was a lifetime experience to see these guys live and up close. Only crowd interaction was Scott getting everyone to chant the main riff to Champagne. (Awesome performance on that track!) Clay A looks like a beast in person.. Way bigger than he seems in videos. Clay G teased us with only the intro to Crush... Damn you. Scott was doing a bit then someone yelled "Fuck you Scott!"... and Scott couldn't hold in his chuckle.. it was hilarious. Tim honestly seemed to be having the best time up there on stage.. rockin' and bobbin' away. Really liked how he played his part of the intro to GOAT when he and Scott are doing that call and response after the opening riff. So stoked we got 40oz, Goose and So Strange on the setlist! I am happy to see Polyphia get the traction that they've seen over recent years.. The line up started almost 3 hours before doors opened Come back anytime!

Tim , I have to say man , I think you and the band , are stellar. Whats more amazing is this sorta style is your wheelhouse , and the complexity of the arrangements just are so unique. You sort of play a guitar with a finger style that is almost identical to a slap and pop bassist , and it makes the notes when in unison with the bass , its like an extra enhancement to an already almost unbelievable arrangement. Its has a similar play style to what I know as banjo but with some strong popping and thumping. Very unique sound. Its inspiring to see your creativity. Obviously this is banjo on cocaine however , the range you have on a 8 string , and even the six string is so overwhelmingly unique. Love it man , keep those vibes coming. You got some serious chops. Your bassist and drummer have the same amount of skill , both of them are on fire. I bet even Steve Vai watches what you three have done and is like , wow lol.

@@0din673 I know they have had him in one video but lets be honest , vai has his flavor and its unique and very good , but what these guys are doing , at the age they are , is way more complex that anything vai was doing at that same stage. Nothing against Vai , hes a god in his own right on the guitar but the complexity of the arrangements is what makes this next level. Dropping harmonics like EVH but at stellar accuracy and speed without missing anything. The alternate picking /sweep picking , thats something , expected. The way its incorporated between the harmonics and the accuracy of all notes , is not.
