Did you learn any other tutorials or methods before trying this out? if i were to say my level im pretty intermediate, struggle a bit with barre chords on acoustic and no nothing of scales on the fretboard besides pentatonic (a bit). should i know more or it doesnt matter. what was your routine before this?

@@BeatsShay I bet you can try to learn it, I learned the main riff on my accoustic guitar (folk) while being intermediate too, and, actually, the first comment is right, my guitar playing really evolved since I learned this riff (I also learned GOAT, The Worst, the feat with No Trust, and lalala, again just the main riff)

@@BeatsShay I'd recommend learning hybrid picking. A lot of their riffs use this technique and it is something I wished i started practicing sooner. I'm actually in the process of relearning how to pick because a lot of their songs were impossible with the way I had originally played

What's more impressive is his hybrid picking in his right hand. As a fingerstyle player, I couldn't play it like that if I tried. I've learned the intro with classic fingerstyle.

@@Ghostynovus I agree with Mark here! Just keep practicing with fun! ^^ I play for 13 years now but switched styles a lot and never had a practice routine besides learning some songs. I always feel embarrased when people ask me for how long I play guitar because I could be way better (secure/ efficient/ fretboard-knowledge/etc.) :D Good luck on your journey!

That’s pretty cool. When learning a song by watching we have to translate the horizontal positions when looking at the fret board of the player. In this case we get an aerial view, how we naturally see out hands when playing. More intuitive It would be cool if more guitar vids/tutorials did this. Learning the bossa nova section currently, and will see if this makes a difference in terms of learning more efficiently.

I'm mainly a metal guitarist, and not that good but love writing stuff and challenging myself. Sat down this morning and decided to buy the tabs from them and try learning the intro. This is so fucking hard. I can barely get the first 4 bars right at a slow pace. Thanks for this video Tim, it's super helpful to see your hybrid picking. I've only ever used hybrid picking for simple slow stuff. Never like this. It's dope.
