Pacu nursing: I am a Pacu nurse and I would have to say the most important thing to know in the first part of the recovery phase is actually ABC's. Breathing is something we closely watch as the patient first arrives from the OR to the PACU as the anesthetic medications greatly suppress a patients ability to breathe on their own. We use a lot of oral or nasal airways and jaw thrusts to protect the airway until the patient is awake enough to protect their own airway. The most important thing in any situation as a nurse is always ABC's.

The only time its CAB is during CPR, because they found that starting compressions immediately leads to better outcomes. ABCs are not now known as CAB, it's still ABCs

Michael I have my first OR experience tomorrow where I will be observing and will be responsible for the initial post- knee replacement surgery. I was nervous but your video had put me at ease. I now know what to focus on as a priority (ABC's definitely) when you asked that question at the start of the video, I answered as "safety" but I think ABC's takes a priority for sure. Thank you for the well done information per usual!! :)

Good video and I like the active energy. I'm trying new ways to learn rather than just read and re write in my notebook so I figured when my brain hurts I'll give it a rest and just watch videos on the topic instead

That is NOT all a CRNA does. The CRNA shares the same responsibility for the patient an anesthesiologist does. Just saying, nice videos though.

You have excellent content/tips to share, however your vid is very sloppy and includes a critical factual error. A surgical wound hemorrhage is NOT something that "doesn't matter" in the assessment of ABCs (CAB according to latest guidelines). Also, you didn't use correct medical terminology. Please either remake this vid or remove it. See my email for details.

what right have you to question how much the Nurse anaesthetist receive? Have you bothered to find out the route they took to get there and the amount of work put in? Are your videos for educational purposes or to attack other professionals? Grow up or go join the politicians if the remuneration is insane to you.
