OMG! I have tried to learned ABG's for a few days now, using the tick tack toe method and the ROME method, and it was so confusing for me to learn and remember. I watched this entire video, took notes, and the marching band uniform method he used was SPOT ON!! Exactly what my brain needed to learn and retain this information. I am so grateful to Simple Nursing for his videos! They have been a life saver so far in nursing school! Thank you so much!!

This is so awesome Nurse, Mike! You have saved the day, yet again. This made no sense when I was reading my book but the analogies that you use, make it practical and easy to understand! I finally got it after rewatching for a second time! None of my professors even came close to this level of presentation. I was hung up on the partially compensated side, but I completely get it now! ABGs are so easy using this method, Idk why I was so afraid.

I originally was an MLT going to nursing school now. You made alkalosis and acidosis soooo much easier than they did in MLT school.

This video is INSANE thank you!!!! the only thing ive added to avoid a simple mistake of a panicking testing nurse student is to refer to the PH as the 2 3 1 (P)(H) method 1 PH 2(P)aco2 3(H)CO3 just to not forget the order with those test anxieties because it can throw the whole values out of whack :)

I absolutely loved this video. I learn ABGs in just a short amount of time. I was confused at first when my professor was trying to teach this to us. After just watching this video, I am confident in doing ABGs now. And since ABGs are now on every exam for my med surg and patho exams I can now ACE them. Remember if the Kidneys fails, acid prevails. Thank you for teaching me compensated and partially compensated as well. I will be looking at your other videos as well for chest tubes, DKA vs HHN and etc for med surg.

Thanks so much for posting. Your way of explaining concepts, is similar to how I try and understand concepts. Also, the method that you teach for interpreting ABG values is golden. I can confidently interpret values after watching this video. I learned more from this video, than I did during my oxygenation lecture.
