► This video will guide you through the essential process of performing a head-to-toe assessment in nursing. 🩺 In this engaging tutorial, you'll learn from a practicing nurse as she demonstrates a systematic approach to evaluating patients, using a comprehensive yet practical method from head to toe. The video features Brandon, a patient who aids in showing the critical skills needed for this assessment.
Discover the real-world application of combining different systems like neurological, musculoskeletal, and cardiac into one cohesive assessment. While the video won't delve into every assessment detail, it provides valuable insights into performing a thorough evaluation. The expert nurse also emphasizes the importance of engaging with patients and addressing their preferences during care. 🙋‍♂️
As the nurse demonstrates, she highlights key points such as introducing yourself to the patient, assessing cognitive status, and ensuring patient participation. You'll also learn how to identify normal and abnormal findings, such as bruising, lacerations, and changes in oxygenation. The video emphasizes the importance of checking vital areas like the eyes, mouth, and skin for any abnormalities. 👁️
In the latter part of the assessment, the video covers crucial areas such as the chest, lungs, heart, and abdomen. The nurse showcases how to properly auscultate lung sounds and evaluate the heart's rhythm and rate, followed by a careful inspection of the abdomen. The video also includes tips on assessing strength, circulation, and coordination in the arms and legs. 💪
Throughout the tutorial, the importance of assessing areas like the pelvis, groin, and buttocks is addressed, with advice on recognizing potential issues like ulcers, infections, and pressure sores. This head-to-toe assessment video is an excellent resource for nursing students aiming to develop their skills, build confidence, and excel in their studies and future careers. 🚀

This is not necessarily a good representation of a real person speaking, because she has both learned a script and is being helped by the power of editing, but if you are truly asking, I found myself greatly improving my way of speaking by constant reading!! Sometimes speaking slower is also a great way not to stutter, because there really is no need for one person to speak that fast, which I think we sometimes tend to do, specially if we are nervous.
