Wiley The legitimate knockdown that Ugas did give to Porter was in the 12th round, check time: 38min:26sec, slow the speed down to .25, and watch Porter's "hip axle" get knocked off its equalibreism or " out of true" to see that Porter's right foot hydroplane 3' to 4' back WITHOUT TOUCHING THE CANVAS, landing "Showtime" on the CANVAS. And remember Porter fights orthodox, but was caught southpaw while retreating.

Lewis snidley states, "Well, he's doing what his corner wants". Seemed like an avoidance tactic to me. The level of contrived behavior is crazy. Look at the dirrel fight when he gets his title!? That stoppage is crazy! Contrived boxing matches are boring. It seems to me that these staged fights for a vacant title both this bout with Porter and Dirrels bout both for WBC vacant straps were made to order... Not to mention that I scored this bout and I could only give Porter the first round. Crazy and not respectable Sir.

So much respect for Shawn Porter, what an incredible athlete he is and the sportsmanship he showed here but with that being said no one deserved to lose this night.

@Marvin Davis That's not how rounds are scored. Of course the pressure fighter will land more punches, but crisper shots are how you win the fight. If landing more punches is how you score than DLH and Pacquiao would never lose, and Floyd would've gotten some losses

Those 2 judges that stole the fight from ugas ought to be investigated and then put in jail.

After the Spence fight perhaps we learned Ugas is even better than we thought. I felt Ugas deserved the nod here. Being Cuban Ugas is not very marketable in the US. I hope he gets a shot at another top PBC welterweight because he definitely deserves it!

Ugas controlled the center of the ring against Porter, more than every other champion Porter has faced. Porter has made every boxing match, a fight at some point in his fights, but Ugas didn’t allow Shawn to press him often. He even showboated against Porter, which I’ve never seen another fighter do. “Cuban boxing skill” is one of the highest levels in boxing.

I think the build up to the spence fight and all the anger is what kinda numbed him. Ugas was catching him a lot cleaner tho. If I remember correctly He fought Spence shoulder to shoulder mostly and would turn him on the ropes.

@@MrElaboy Ok, then. I still think Ugas won the fight. I boxed my whole life, until injuries causes me some serious neurological problems. Spence will not lose Saturday night, unless he gets knocked out. This will not happen. Here is what you will see: Every punch Spence throws the announcers will go crazy, and the fans will go crazy. Texas is notoriously crooked for it's judging. If Lawrence Cole is the referee, I won't buy the fight. No matter what Ugas does, they will not give him the close rounds. It's not happening. Back to the Porter fight...I'll rewatch but I felt like Ugas won 115-113.

I think this fight prepared Ugas for Pacquaio. Because Pacquaio`s style is similar to Porter. The biggest difference is that Pacquaio is a south paw and he was not moving around the ring. Ugas was using a lot of upper body movement to slip Pacquaio`s flurries, but in this fight he was not doing that. Also he was using backward movement more in the Pacquaio fight. Plus Ugas was throwing more varied punches.

He's terrible at being on his toes and boxing. I'm not a porter fan. He has to go in there and rough u up on the inside throw 10 crazy hooks to land 1 and hope he wears u down. Gatekeeper at best.

Rewatching this fight just let’s me know that a more focused Spence fought Ugas than he did when he fought Porter. Porter changed his whole game plan after a couple of round with Ugas just to save his belt

@@TheAb390 You can clearly see Porter's back foot slip so it wasn't a clean knockdown. It might have been a knockdown, but calling it a clean knockdown is not quite the truth. Also, Porter wasn't even wobbled.

Tough fight to judge. I see it as either 3 scores. 115-113 Shawn Porter. 115-113 Yordenis Ugas. 114-114 draw. The breaking point for me was all the showboating Ugas was doing I wasn’t fond of it. Also the punch after the bell in round 6 and the blantant trip by Ugas in round 11. Ugas was just doing to much extra shit that wasn’t boxing. I would’ve given it to Shawn Porter to.

You dont judge a match off of showboating you dummy. Fighters do that to try and get inside the other fighters head and Ali and Roy Jones jr were masters at it. Ugas won this fight but at least 3 rounds because of the knockdown even if the fight was close he takes the lead with that. Plain and simple dude was robbed. Now go watch football or something because you know nothing about boxing.

Can't leave things in the hands of the judges. That was also a knock down called a slip. Porter didn't do anything to look like the champ. Sorry ,I was giving his belt away.

Had to watch this before the Pacman fight. Hope Ugas had enough time to prepare cause if he did Pacman is gonna have his hands full. Ugas is a much better boxer than Porter and his longer than Errol. This is actually gonna be a great fight, hope Errol gets back in the ring soon. BTW that was a robbery ✌🏿

Ugas deserved the win in this fight. He fought strong in most of the round with good timing and punching accuracy. Absolutely not a walk in the park for Manny but those showboating from Ugas definitely will not works against the legend.

Check 39:39 to 39:43 Porter's score from 140 then 142 while the ref was trying to separate them. hahahha

The commentators said they gave Porter that round because he's the champion and was the aggressor despite ugas landing more punches? You resort to ring generalship if there is no clear winner of the round in terms of punches landed, it's not primary. Secondly, you can't give Porter rounds because you think he landed better punches, it's based on who's landed cleaner shots, not your favourite punches. People make boxing more subjective than it needs to be..

Great fight. I think Shawns strategy of moving and boxing rather than always charging worked for him although could of gone either way

@@ctdesign1503 All the rounds where Ugas was stalking Porter with his gloves up, but NOT throwing ANY jabs, and missing with MOST of his Lead power attempts! (THOSE ROUNDS!) You casuals REFUSE to understand that simply Ring Generalship ALONE DOESN'T win you the fight! ALL aggression has to be effective in the form of inflicting damage, while avoiding damage. Ugas wasn't inflicting much damage at all! It only appeard that way because Ugas was winning the ring Generalship. But Ugas was not very effective. I honestly believe Porter exposed Ugas, as to NOT have an elite jab, And mediocre offensive combinations. Shawn landed the More effective/Damaging punches consistently throughout the fight. But he did so in ugly fashion, because he allowed Ugas to control the pace. Errol Spence will STOP Ugas in rounds 7-9! EASY WORK!!!
