I think that was the best check left hook knockdown in pro boxing to date. The way he set the trap down to the reaction the way he threw the way it landed how he dipped out underneath Ricky all of it was just perfect. @@tonyebiere551 Yeah that one was good for sure, but where I'm at with that when comparing the two... the rolly ko, was an opportunity that presented it's self to tank and tank took advantage of it. In my opinion what I think makes Mayweather's better, is Mayweather set that up and baited hatton into that check left hook and it was so short and fast hatton never saw it and Mayweather had already dipped out and under hatton before he went down leaving hatton face first into the post 😂. It was just cleaner to me, but again tanks was great as well take nothing away from tank for that highlight reel KO. Just my opinion.

@@ilovelulu8492 I agree with you on the baiting by Floyd, it was in fact genius. However, considering that Tank was much smaller, shorter and less powerful than Rolly and also considering that Rickey Hatton had been worn out for 9 whole rounds and was weaker at the time he was caught in the 10th round making it hard to recover, not taking anything away from Floyd, I would say that a 6th round K.O when Rolly was still very strong and was in fact the one wearing Tank down has to be my number 1 pick.

+QU3STION5 That is a bunch of bullshit right there. When Floyd was at Lightweight Ricky Hatton was fighting at Jnr. Welterweight already. When he fought Arturo Gatti Ricky Hatton was at the ringside and was already a Ring Magazine champion at Jnr Welterweight. My point is, if you have been following boxing and even better if you are a fighter, you would know that for a naturalized Jnr Welters, making a Welterweight is very easy. So your excuse for Ricky Hatton here does not fly. Floyd himself was once a jnr Lightweight. Just give credit to the guy.

Watching this back as an adult now with more boxing knowledge. This man Floyd really fought Hatton’s style of boxing duking it out inside for 8 rounds getting Ricky tired knowing his cardio didn’t compare. Then he (Floyd) completely turned up the heat and switched back to his own style in the 9th and finished Ricky not much long after. Mayweather was really a master boxer. 🥊 The strategy was impeccable.

@@tyrossbaekon8610 Floyd shouldn't have fought Hatton to begin with. Hatton was a smaller man, fought his entire career at 140 except for one fight. Pac fought Hatton at 140, Ricky's best weight where he had never lost a fight. Floyd fought smaller guys many times. He fought guys that lost or had a draw against weaker opponents in their last fight. He waited to fight guys he feared until they were past their best, and he had to be embarrassed into fighting them. He also fought guys that never fought outside their own country, making them lesser quality opponents. In his very best prime years, from 25 to 30, he fought these guys; Demarcus Corley,..Carlos Baldomir,..Carlos Hernandez,..Philipp N'Dou,..Victoriano Sosa,..Sharmba Mitchell and Henry Bruseles. Those 7 guys when Floyd was in his prime is an embarrassing fact. Only Baldomir wasn't 'c' level in that group, but he was past his best at 36. Floyd was about 9 years younger. Cotto was in the crowd watching him fight Bruseles. Cotto anticipated fighting Floyd soon so he went to check out the fight. Cotto was undefeated, in the same division, but he wouldn't fight Floyd for 7 more years. Floyd came out of hiding after Cotto had 5 brutal wars in a short period of time. Instead of the 7 bums Floyd fought, he could have fought Cotto, Mosley, Kostya Tzsyu and a long list of others that were much better than the 7 guys he cherry picked. Floyd challenged Winky Wright publicly in the ring, Wright had his manager there in 2 days with a contract. He gave in to all of Floyd's demands, he wanted to fight Floyd. Floyd started acting scared and he backed out after calling Winky out. Floyd also took a vote from his fans. He told them whichever opponent they chose between Khan and Maidana, he would fight. They voted overwhelmingly for him to fight Khan; Floyd fought Maidana. After all of that, he lied to his own fans. After Maidana pounded lumps on Broner, Floyd was scared of him as well. He bribed Maidana, paid him an extra 1.5 million$ if he would agree to wear the soft pillow gloves that Floyd picked for him. Maidana accepted, it was doubling his salary for the fight to 3 million$........ Maidana had more than 40 fights, none of his opponents had any problem with his gloves, he wore the same gloves in every fight. Only bitch Floyd whimped out, secretly bribing Maidana to wear marshmallow gloves. That's a coward if ever there was one. Imagine Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson or any fighter for that matter, asking his opponent to take it easy on him by wearing soft gloves. Then Floyd still has the nerve to claim that he's the GOAT. He's not the Goat, but he's definitely a horse's ass.

@@marcusclarkson2657 Pac beat every one of them and beat them much easier than Floyd. You don't want to go down that road, Floyd is the bigger man by 10 lbs. or more to begin with. Trying to compare him with Pacquiao as if they're the same size is nonsense. Even though Pac was always smaller, he beat the same guys that Floyd fought and beat them more convincingly. Pac beat guys Floyd ran from. Thurman beat the brakes off of Guerrero, then Floyd made Guerrero his next opponent. Ortiz just fought Peterson at 140, had to settle for a draw. If Victor couldn't beat a 'b' level guy at 140, why would chicken shit Floyd fight him next at a higher weight? Floyd could have fought at least one or more of the new guys that came along or the toughest guys available, but he didn't. Instead of fighting Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, Kell Brook, Errol Spence, Bud Crawford, Joshua Clottey, Tim Bradley, Paul Williams, Winky Wright, Erislandy Lara or some other top quality opponents, he chose Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero, Andre Berto and some guy that wasn't even a pro fighter. Which group looks like tougher opponents, the chumps that Floyd fought or the long list of guys I mentioned, all of which wanted to fight Floyd?

If he was the GOAT he wouldn't be fighting smaller guys and cherry picking his entire career. Snorting dope before every fight in his dressing room doesn't win him any votes either. Sugar Ray Robinson would beat Floyds ass all night long. He began his pro career at 131-1, was 85-0 as an amateur. Combined he was 216-1 in his first 217 fights. He had 109 KO's in the pro's and 69 KO's in 85 amateur fights. SRR ducked nobody, he fought 7 or 8 times a year and everyone knows that Floyd couldn't carry his jock strap. Floyd lost 6 amateur fights, none in the pro's because he paid the judges. Floyd knocked out Ortiz on a cheap shot and Hatton, a smaller guy. Those are his only KO'S in 10 years. SRR knocked out more then that on his way to the gym every day.

I always come back to this fight time and time again. The way Mayweather chose to fight Hatton’s fight from the beginning and got inside, rough housing with him only to switch to his slick boxing style suddenly in the late rounds; to finish the job. The rare feeling of conflicting emotions I always have watching this fight because the constant aggression between the two kept the Ref stepping in; but was still exciting. The check left hook he KO’d Hatton with in the right corner that will forever be burned in my memory. The way he began to set it up and catch Hatton constantly with it from round 8, through to the end. This is just another of many MASTERCLASSES by Floyd. Another World Champion of many he conquered for his own legacy. He truly is the greatest pure boxer ever in the sport; TBE. We won’t see a boxer this special for generations. Living and witnessing his reign was a gift to us Boxing fans around the world. Lovers of the sport will always appreciate his greatness; sooner or later. I love to see the comments from fans who come around years after they study the game. That’s real greatness. Misunderstood.

Wow! I just watched how Floyd set up the knockout. In the last 15 second's of 7 round, he back's into the corner, several times, allowing Hatton to follow him, but he does NOT throw his check hook, he only dips. This was done to train Hatton to NOT expect the check hook, or any counter when he follows him aggressively into the corner, Wow. Now the trap has been set for the Knockout because Hatton thinks when he follows Floyd into a corner, Floyd will just duck, or grab him. Then in the 10 round, POW!! In Chess, it's equivalent to the Queen's Gambit. Floyd was a master.

Round 4, wow what a performance by Floyd. The mauling on the inside in the corner at 24:43. The pot shots to the body straight after it. Making Ricky miss all his punches. The body shots on the inside at 25:43. The short uppercut at 26:06 and stiff jab straight after it. The pot shots up close at 26:28 and that FUCKING BEAUTIFUL step back, right hand to the face straight after it OMG. Then that one two and push away right after it. At 26:33 catches Ricky coming in with a right hand and lands uppercuts on the inside as Ricky is leaning in. Making Ricky miss every single punch while landing short sharp body shots. Floyd really started to time Ricky perfectly in this round, worked out his movements and punch patterns and woud counter in between so beautifully. Absolutely phenomenal. No words for a guy like Floyd. A true master of fighting

Enjoy this. We will NEVER see another boxer of this caliber again in our lifetime. Floyd was special. There's literally nothing he CAN'T do. He beat Hatton in Hatton's specialty...fighting on the inside. The way he completely neutralizes opponents and makes it look easy is almost criminal. It's a shame he will never get the respect he deserves from the haters because they don't like his personality. But his CHARACTER doesn't diminish what he did in that ring. Truly the greatest boxer to ever live.

@@DiaAkin his record of 50 wins is iffy as his record should be either 49-1 or 48-2 because of Maidana and Castillo, he’s a great boxer but he avoided fighters like Margarito and Manny. Sure Floyd used the excuse that Manny wouldn’t get tested but Manny later Sued Floyd for that and Floyd shut up after he lost his case. As for fighting the most champions, ig he did but the level competition was different, he was arguably the best of our generation, well him or Manny. It’s debatable how well he would of faired against Prime Manny, Leonard, Robinson, Durán, Hearns, Hagler, Whittaker, Nicolino Locche, or Chavez Sr. I’m not saying they all beat him but he definitely would’ve struggled, Robinson, Hearns, Whittaker, and Hagler best Floyd 99% tho.

jantje de bie I’m sure the reason Europe has more Olympic medals is because it’s much older than the U.S. We’re only 243 years old man. On top of that the entire continent of Europe is split into many countries so that means whether France wins a medal or Spain or Italy or Greece or the UK, it all falls under Europe. As big as the U.S. is we’re only one country so our wins come as a whole. Another thing I forgot to mention is the systemic racism our country is built upon, which makes it even harder if you’re a minority here, which also equals crazy good minority athletes (you should be no stranger to them, Prince Naseem was an absolute beast). But either way it’s not a landslide, you guys are better at certain things and we’re better at others. Since we’re on a boxing video what’s your opinion on who dominates the sport?

In all professional sports, we've all scene athletes lose their temper, & as such, they all lose their composure inhibiting their performance. They're called Frustration Fouls. It happens in Basketball/Football/Baseball...etc. Mayweather NOT once did he lose his composure much less his laser like concentration & focus. They say the Boxing is the calculus of fighting, therefore, Mayweather is the "Albert Einstein" of Boxing. It's my objective opinion that Floyd Mayweather is the greatest Boxer who ever lived. Yes, better than Mohamed Ali. I can't believe what I just witnessed, absolute greatness, with classy sportsmanship to boot.
