Hilarious to hear the commentator consistently doubting Terrence’s south paw stance. For him to brutally drop Gamboa in round 5 seconds after the commentator was doubting him again.

Terence Crawford is the best fighter I have ever seen at controlling an entire fight with one hand or the other. He uses that brutal right jab like a right cross, or he can switch around and use the left in the same fashion and come over the top with the right. He is such a beautiful practitioner of the sweet science.

I think people forget how good Gambao was. He was a highly decorated amateur, Olympic gold medalist, won a title at featherweight, won an interim title at super featherweight, won an interim title at lightweight, and he was undefeated before this fight. In 2012, Ring Magazine had Gambao top 10 in the pound for pound rankings. He was on the verge of becoming a star but of course Bud knocks him out and now everybody acts like he was a bum. It's crazy how the narrative changes after all of Bud's fights. Before the fight "This is Crawford's biggest test, I don't think he can get past this one", After the fight "He was washed up, he wasn't ever really that good anyway, etc." Let's see how the story changes after he stops Spence.

Gamboa is about the quickest fighter I've seen. He has unbelievable reflexes, he must have smashing the guys at 126. He came up 2 weights for this fight, Bud was too long and too big for him overall, but Gamboa didn't embarrass himself. Before he hurt Crawford in the 9th, he must have landed 80 or 90 good punches. When Crawford got loosened up, they had some wild exchanges. Gamboa kept getting caught because of arm length and Crawfords skills. I think Gamboa gave Crawford about as good a fight as anyone.

Exactly, he's a better counter puncher as a southpaw. Gamboa likes to lead with the left hook and follow up with his right so Crawford switched to Southpaw and began to counter with his straight left and even more effectively with his right hook as seen at 15:28, by removing Gamboas left hook he was able to prevent Gamboa for getting off any combinations. Crawfords is such and intelligent fighter, like a chess player.
