I have a Tesla Model S P100D and consider it a contender, mainly due to it now being under half the price of a 2020 Taycan Turbo S. Yes, it's poorer build quality, but it has benefits of way more space, good charging network and much much better UI, FSD, & App/Tech. I was going to upgrade my S to a Taycan Turbo S, but I have now gone for an Aston DBX (at wife's request). While I still have the Model S, you are welcome to come do videos on the Model S and DBX (you recently did a vid with a friend's Ferrari)

Yeah. I might be biased growing up in the 90s but the full rear lightbars are some of my favorite design elements that are making a comeback in car design. 😅 Always thought it looks cool.

Love the channel (I now need a Maserati), I came from JayEmm as I guess a lot of people did. I've got a 996 Carrera 4S that was my only car with 2 then 3 kids when we moved to the UK. It mostly worked lol. You're welcome to give it a drive come the new year if youre still interested (work and travel until end of Jan / February). Two child seats in the back right now ( for the 4/6 yr old). As we enter this recession and prices eventually drop I think it's going to be a steal, can honestly say nothing looks better then the back of a 996 4S. Subscribed and can't wait to blame you for my next car purchase

Great stuff! Ultimate Dadcar I think would still be the AMG E63S Wagon, definitely test one for the channel. Taycan Turbo S Gran Tourismo if you want to stay electric and have tons of money haha. The issue with the Taycan (or things like the Panamera Turbo S ehybrid) is the weight. Yeah, they are SUPER fast but they are not confidence-inspiring on twisty roads. You can feel the weight of the car and it scared the bejeesus out of me worrying about "will it stop" xD So having said all that, and only if you also have a wagon or SUV in the garage, I'd say the 992 Turbo S (cab for me, since I live in Southern California) is the ultimate. Those are incredibly fun to drive and just so versatile!

I feel the taycan handles windy roads great. Almost as good as my M3 competition with another ton added on. The air suspension, dynamic chassis, dynamic sway bar, and vectoring control make a huge difference. It’s flat and agile in corners. Maybe your ride didn’t have those?

I drive to Portsmouth for work every day, looking forward to seeing you fly past me on the M27! 😄 Video idea, find us a dad car most of us can actually afford 😂

One thing to say about high performance high torque cars like this ev is that you can’t use the potential with children in the car. Imagine the neck breaking jerks while accelerating and decelerating

@@RichTamblyn great question, should have mentioned this really 🤦‍♂️ about 220 miles with a mix of spirited driving and about 9 hours to charge.

I hope you can get your hands in a R35 Nissan GT-R, those are properly fast and I am curious to see if you can actually fit people in the back considering every source on the internet says they're pretty much useless. Cheers

Ha can’t argue with that and it’s my car 😂 I was supposed to trade in my DB9 a year ago (kids got too big for back seats) but missed the V12 too much so is still sitting on the drive a year later! Oops 😀 tough or impossible? to find a V12 sports car with three back seats though (three teens now)

Just my opinion that a DadCar is a car not an SUV, I hope to get some super SUVs on the channel this year so I may be wrong 😉 but obviously if SUVs do it for you then there are plenty of awesome ones out there now. I like the most impractical cars that just about work and this being able to fit 4 across the back while still being a coupe is pretty special.

I think you make a great point and I tend to agree with you. I own both a 2 doors coupe and an SUV and the coupe is the car I use to carry my son around.
