11.4s 100-200 seems very legit in a 2 ton barge with just 430hp and 530nm E55 has 500hp and 700nm so it just isn't comparable in any way.

Exactly, Panamera has less power, way less torque and is 100 kg heavier than E55T, this 11,4s 100-200 figure is actually surprisingly healthy for such an old example.

Looks like a very safe car to drive at 250km/h. Some of the others are a lot more sketchy at those kind of speeds. It's always looked a bit odd at the back and slightly too long - but it's nice from the front. Gotta lolz at "it's not that fast". You've been spoiled!

One thing to note about the top speed not hitting the claimed: while in sport plus mode, the car will not go into 7th gear. I imagine if you turned off sport plus and hit 7th, you could hit that claimed top speed.

As much as Panamera gets hate, many forget that this was one of first 4 door sport coupe success in mass markets. Plus that V8 is one of the best Porsche sounding engines there is, not the most reliable tho, but it is pure fun while it lasts and it is more than clear there will not be many or any more like that. Plus the facilifted version of first gen has aged and will continue to age quite well design wise.

My all time favorite Porsche, the Panamera in general. But the true goal is the Panamera Turbo S, absolutely love the newest version with the taillights and headlights, but this generation is what got me to fall in love with the Panamera, which before I never liked Porsche. Now it's one of my favorite manufacturers

@@mylifeinarosegarden8 I'm envious of that! My "I've made truly made it" car is the Panamera Turbo S, and I'm a sucker for sport sedans. You're able to be a parent (thankfully not yet, not ready for that right now) without having to give up the joy of driving a sports car

I’m not a parent but I have a high maintenance expensive mom! I have the Panamera base model. It’s black with yellow ceramic brakes. I don’t need a Turbo S. Base is good enough for me.

Love the Panamera...great power and also lots of space. You can even fold the spacious rear seats down for cargo. The newer models look great also!

Hi, i do own porsche panamera GTS (2014) with the facelift. Because its a 4.8 V8 engine its consume alot of fuel. So, capacity is 100Liter and you can ride around 650-700km. The oil change etc from Porsche dealer is very expensive around 2500-2900 euro (in the netherlands) buying is cheap but the cost owning it is quiet expensive. Hopes this helps!

I own the Panamera 4 which is a 6V and already the costs are very high. Service is expensive, it consumes a lot of gas and if you break something on the car the cost is again high. To change the hood in Germany costs 2500€. The service at 90.000 Km was 1700€. New summer tires costs 1400€. Car insurance Vollkasko is 126€/month. Also it's a really big car 5x2 meters, that's 10sqm. It's hard to manoeuvre and park in urban environment. But it's a great cruiser. Personally I'll sell it now and buy a new C class. Completely different car, but much better all arounder.

Big Porsche fan, they build excellent machines. My current ride is the Cayenne 4.2 S diesel…more torque than a McLaren P1 and 0-60 in 5.5 seconds but I still get 34 mpg and all the luggage and passenger space I need…top beast!

I've just remapped mine to 450HP/950Nm, put a pair of K&N filters and now its even more amazing!

I was really surprised about the low top speed. I have been able to reach 300+ on a regular basis with the max being 311 indicated. Great video though

Engine is fine. It was a very windy day which will definitely affect top speed. Moreover 11.4s is what the car should do 100-200 for its power and weight

The rason might be carbon deposition in the head, if its a direct injected engine. Imo it should be faster than advertised 288kmh.

3700 kilometres a year would NOT cause an engine to lose power. Wear and tear of the engine internals & drive train will cause that. It's also the loss of compression through cylinder and ring wear and also an increase in rotating resistance by bearing wear in engines and transmission, and the rest of the drive train that causes loss of power.

Yes! Also the cooling systems pay big role in hp and acceleration speeds. Especially when we're talking about 100-200.
