It's like it's just instant acceleration for the first few metres which is absolutely nuts. Porsche just did some insane wizardry with that V8 in that car.

@@peterhammer4644 it didn’t “lose” in a sense. It came third in the drag race against an electric car, and a super car. In my books, that’s hardly a loss. My original comment was in regard to the acceleration which is exceptionally impressive for a large gas powered sedan, even more so when you consider that it accelerated faster off the line than an already intestine-rearrangingly quick accelerating EV.

Dude the Panamera launched were crazy, literally a rocket off the line and kept up with the top 2 for a good while
Love how the slow one is a SUV with a v6 that runs 12.7 in the 1/4. All are very impressive vehicles

i cannot express my love for porsche enough, and this video solidifies it even more. All of these cars are amazing marvels of engineering in their respective classes and I would be in heaven to have any of these in my garage

Yes really... So proud to be German🇩🇪. In my opinion Porsche makes the best coupé (all 911's) the best electric car (the taycan is amazing nothing like the shitty American Tesla's), and although I'm not fan of SUV's the cayenne truly is in my opinion the only acceptable one. The Cayman and Boxsters really are the best looking sport cars in their price range.. all cars really are amazing

*Panamera is something serious off the line, I wasn't expecting it to be so bad azz, especially as the biggest car out there!*

They were all a bit slower than normal though. The 911 usually does 10.1 to 10.2, the Taycan does 10.2 to 10.3, and the Cayenne has done as low as 11.2 seconds. Interesting.

Tbh the Macan GTS did well for what it was~ still love that car :) That 2.9L V6 that's pretty much in an Audi RS 4 and RS 5 is no joke still.

Knew that 911 TTS would be bonkers, but man, Cayenne and Panamera were reaaaaally impressive, phenomenal content boys, keep up the great work!
I'm impressed by 2 things: 1. How consistent the cars are according to their own capabilities 2. How they get that level of torque from the 911 compared to an ELECTRIC car it's just insane! Thank you guys for this, it was amazing.

I was actually surprised at how well the Panamera did. Though the top end it starts to fade away the torque off the line was great. Even the stopping power it has. I genuinely thought the Cayenne had a more powerful engine and would be ahead of it.

Yeah Porsche must have done some insane wizardry with that 4.0L V8, even though the Cayenne Turbo GT has the same engine, and that car is still insane.

The 911 Turbo (S) has pretty much always been the most capable performance car over the road that one could live with everyday on the market. All of the performance of a Ferrari in a usable package with the comfort of a grand tourer, the reliability of a Toyota, and the build quality of, well, a Porsche. You know it won't rust out, or develope squeaks and rattles, or manifest electrical gremlins, just tens of thousands of miles of trouble free launches to 60 in 2.5 consistently.
I hope we see more of Daniel in the future. Him and Mat together, with two complete perspectives is great!

@@mikeincognito nah, as an owner of the base Macan who's driven loaner base Cayennes, I can say that the lighter Macan would likely beat the much heavier base Cayenne. If Panamera is still made in 2-wheel-drive mode, it would lose to the RWD Taycan, I'm pretty sure, as well. (I've owned two Panameras and have test-driven every level of Taycan including RWD.)

The other cars are great but I think I’d still go with the 718 GTS. Naturally aspirated, rear wheel drive, manual, light, 6 cylinder and the best price of any of the cars shown here. Others are better in a straight line but the 718 is just perfect for backroads and joyrides

Well said. I enjoy DRIVING. With most modern 'performance' cars the guy holding the wheel is just another component, ranked somewhere behind the multi-auto-gearboxes, the traction-control gubbins, the drive mode selectors, and all the other computerised nonsense that makes rich people think they can drive. Yawn. In terms of skill and car control you might as well be playing a video game. Just stamping on an accelerator doesn't impress me. Driving's NOT all about who can go fastest. It's about getting the best out of yourself and your car, whether it's a Mini or a McLaren. (I hate drag-racing: it's childish willy-waving for little boys.) I watch this channel in the hope that, one day, I'll be surprised. So far the most surprising thing has been reading your comment: a man not afraid to use his brain, instead of his wallet? A man prepared to change gears for himself and dance on all three pedals on a twisty B-road? What a refreshing change! 🙂

Th 992 Turbo S is amazing in a straight line yes but gives less emotions than any 911 Turbo before. I dont know what it is but for that price you should get some emotions, too.

I love that the 911, the Taycan and the Panamera all slightly jumped the start in the 3rd race. Also the 918 noticably jumped the 2nd race.

This leads me to believe that the 911 Turbo S is one of the most marvelous feats of modern engineering. The Taycan is likely the best prouction EV on the planet (yes, the Plaid is quicker, but still), and the 911 just reels it in every single time like it's easy.

Plaid can do 216mph and can keep up with chiron. But everuthing else Taycan is better

@@MrCosmin94 I think the main difference is the confidence of the two, yes the Plaid is faster in every metric, but the Taycan at 160mph feels so much more dialed in and not likely to kill you than the Plaid does, much less at the 200+mph

This fucking "Plaid" thing actually isn't "quicker" at all, dude! The fastest production EV around the Nordschleife still is a Porsche Taycan Turbo S, period! "Drag racing" bullshit doesn't matter at all for most of "sportscar drivers". The Tesla "Plaid" still is a fucking annoying one trick pony with the worst build quality on this planet and everybody knows it! The Taycan Turbo S is just a really good and ultra fast Porsche, whereas this shitty Tesla is just a.... well, a fucking shitty built Tesla! From a company, which doesn't have any traditon, legacy or "character" at all! Tesla just SUCKS!

its not even close to anything like most marvellous. The driving dynamics are worst in the whole 911-lineup and the sound is shit. For that price you would expect a full "racing" experience but what you get is a super fast car in a straight line.
Should probably do 3 rolling races. One in comfort settings, one is full sport settings and one locked in 3rd. It makes sense to test how the gearbox responds in both comfort and sport settings cause it will be much quicker in sport

I bought my Macan S new in 2017 and have never regretted a moment of owning it. Top of it’s class in SUV’s. It’s going to be joined next week by a new 2023 911 Carrera. That’s what I think of Porsches !

Exactly why the 911 TS is the industry benchmark to find out if your car is actually fast or not. If you can beat an essentially 10 second QM car you are doing something. I’ve always loved the 911 and especially the TS. Wish I could own one that’s for sure. 🤙🏻
