Thanks for all the comments. To answer some of the questions: The car is a 2004 CGT. The mic captures the sound, but yes it distorts. it was an Audio Technica mic that could not handle the loud volume in close proximity - sorry, I'm no engineer and did my best as I had time for a quick hook up before taking off with some friends. The car has no auto blip. I do blip the throttle on the down shifts to match the new rpm in the next gear as the car revs from 1k to 9k very quickly. I only blip the throttle on the up shifts if I'm shifting casually but still in the high RPM's. The roads are PCH near Malibu and somewhere up in the canyons (I'm not too familiar with the area, so I don't know the street names). Finally, FYI: I race a cup car so I get all my thrills on the track. It's not just this car one must respect, but the cars and people around you. I don't take this car near the limits in a public situation, but do enjoy it within it's capabilities which are far beyond some of the other cars I drive. It's a fantastic car and truly my favorite street car.

This and the LFA are proof that nothing sounds better than a V10. The V8 burble is nice, a V12 symphony is all well and good, but nothing, nothing, beats the scream of a European style revvy V10

DerekT If you could read you would see that I said European STYLE V10 which is characterized by it's revs versus something like an American Viper V10. In that sense the LFA is a European STYLE V10

My childhood pinup car. As sad as it is to say, it's probably fair to point out that as a 90's child I have seen both the pinnacle and fall of the greatest "drivers" cars we will ever see. Manual, N/A, hydraulically assisted steering, and in the case of the CGT, perfection

This guy knows how to drive a GT! Listen to that little blip in between up shifts. Lovely video.

I'm not sure about this but I think the CGT has an throttle auto-blip function whenever you shift down. I may be wrong though.

virdurc, as far as sound, yah - the Carrera GT & LFA are very similar. from behind the wheel? not even close; Carrera GT is a FAR more of a driver's car than the LFA.

That CGT fucking screams!! Its absolutely glorious. If 1 day i ever have half a million bucks to spend on, this would be it.

This really is one of the best sounding cars out there.

It has been quite a few years since I first heard the sound of cgt. Nothing beat it since. V10 developed for le man's, produced by porshe...can't get any more legendary than this. If devil was manufacturing cars this would be it, Walker knows that..

The only car which sound comes close to that of an F1.

I think he used the audio from a mic near the exhausts and just played it with him driving. :D

+Amin El Either you have hearing damage or don't know what sound clipping is. The microphone was set far too high, just listen for the shrill peaks when he revs, it sounds atrocious.

Dylantuning1995 Rodas not only floored it through a corner with worn out tires, the tires where the original the car had wich ment the car was 2005 carrera gt with 8 year old tires, plus the tires were cold and since the car has a very non intrusive traction control. 100+mph through a corner+ non experienced driver+ cold tires+old worn tires+tree= Two deaths. Somebody once said (Jeremy clarkson) speed doesnt kill suddenly becoming stationary does.
