I finally sold my 981 BS and bought a 991.2 GTS Cabriolet. I had a lot of memories with my 981. I will never forget it.

I am in love of this car, and this video did participate a lot about it. So this month, I've decided to pass the step, and buy one. Fun fact : after studyingthe different options & possible configuration, I've choosed the one I was liking the most. After comming back to this video to ear the future sound of my car, I've seen that the configuration was almost the same ! Chrono, extended leather, PSE, sport design... even the color inside and outside ! I'm really happy to know that I have a 5min POV of what it will look like if few weeks, thanks a lot !

In order to record the sound most similar to the actual one, I tested it by changing various microphone . I'm glad you enjoyed it. I recommend using earphones or headphones.

Unfortunately, some time after I made the video, several new speed bumps were built on that road, so I can't drive like that anymore. I miss those days already.

Great video. Was the camera installed on wind deflector behind the seats? Did you use an external microphone?

yes, I set up the camera in the space in front of the wind deflector and used an external microphone - Olympus ME51S . it does good job of recording loud exhaust sound without any distortion. And I think this is the cheapest microphone that does that.

@@Yobiwan94 Thanks, I thought you had some technology installed (PASM) judging by how you handle the fast corners. I think it is impossible for a Golf GTI or R to eclipse that car of yours

PTV on mid engine cars is a waste. Its more useable on 911, which is why it eats up the breaks so much on 911 as it actually gets used. You could get an after market diff as that is the only real benifit.

Why the mosaic?

Wich tyres do you use? Pirelli P Zero or Michelin Pilot Sport 4S?

I want one. I wanna be a more confident driver and become an amateur race car driver. Ughhh, this is so cool!!!! I’m only just started learning so please excuse my ignorance: I didn’t see your hand on the stick, so was it automatic? I thought most sport cars are stick shift, i.e. manual transmission?

It's PDK.( = DCT for porsche). I like manual transmission very much, but it is not essential for sports car driving.

It's in South Korea, a little bit north-east from the capital Seoul.

It's a bit complicated to answer your question. Porsche's manual transmissions are known for their perect shifting feel. However, the manual transmission in the 981 boxster has quite loose gear ratio , especially in third and fourth gear, compared to the PDK. Even in combination with the 3.8 engine, the long gear ratios are always criticized as a disadvantage, and I personally think it is even worse with the 3.4 engine.

This probably won't be a problem if you're a leisurely driver on the highway, but if you're like me and enjoy accelerating down short straights on mountain roads, these long 3rd and 4th gear ratios can be a little uncomfortable.
