Henry Catchpole reviews the new Porsche 911 on both road and track in Spain. With more power but also more weight, is it still the sports car to beat? And which is better - rear-wheel-drive S or the quicker 4S?

So funny
Henry Catchpole is my most favourite car journalist. He's got a unique blend of enthusiasm, knowledge, skills and composure. He always reviews cars within their relevant context while most other journalists use some benchmarks to artificially compare and classify them. Well done Henry!

And what does Henry use to compare cars? His subjective impressions. How is that not artificial? "The dampers now have more breath to them" Oh shut up you pretentious twat.

There were about 7, Porsche 992 videos that went up on KZread. This was the last one I watched. It was by far the best. Henry can describe driving details like no one else. He communicates in such a great way and talks about exactly what I want to know. How does it drive. Nailed it. Thank you for your amazing work. Just brilliant
What a deep pleasure to watch your videos, Henry! love your passion, but also you are so analytical, knowledgeable, and always tries to answer all our questions.
Fantastic review Henry! Love the little details that get us all so excited haha! Can't wait for the manual version.
Great stuff as always Henry, keep-up these great reviews 👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Always love your vids bud, must say this example looks extremely good, there is lines and presence that makes this one a must. Well done.
Great review, as usual! :)
Great review Mr. Catchpole, and great footage - Thus this level of voice was perfect. And damn it also looks really great with this wider track.

Agreed! Though at what point do we start calling it a super car? A Carrera S can do 0-100 in 3.5 seconds nowadays. 15 years ago that was hypercar territory. Insane when you think about it

Henry - as always a well done video. Cheers. I am glad that the 992 is so good too
Great review. Many thanks for sharing.
Great car and an even better reviewer and review! Thank you Harry!!
Great short video Henry! Well done👍
Sir Henry Catchpole - the Master Reviewer of Motoring. A review from Henry is like watching your good book come alive in the movies, you are one with the car and it is you who is experiencing the drive. This one was perhaps the finest I have seen by Henry, the passion and the soul of perhaps the ultimate driver's automobile brought before us in all her glory. May we get more machines like these (and more reviews)
Some of my favorite things about a Henry Catchpole video are, of course, the legend himself reviewing the car, and then reading the comments about the greatness of Henry Catchpole.
You know it's gonna be a good review when Mr Henry Catchpole opens the door and sits in a new 992 Porsche!
Great review as always.
A proper review with such a limited time in the car! Great job Henry!
Super review! Thanks a lot!
When Henry stops talking and takes it through the rev range, the automatically generated subtitles say [MUSIC]. 😁
Top review Henry ! The ultimate everyday sports car
Brilliant review, Mate! Being someone as old as the 911 moniker itself, to my eyes, this is the most beautiful 911 yet mainly due to the visually wider stance it has both from the front & the rear. Porsche engineers have indeed delivered yet another masterpiece, in my opinion.
Another Henry Catchpole masterclass 👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks Henry. Fantastic review.
Great first impressions - thank you Henry
Legendary car, legendary reviewer! Keep up the great work.
Probably the best driver out of all the 992 reviews I've seen. He really knows how to hustle the car... Subscribed!

Great stuff Henry!
Henry, you sir are a wonderful reviewer. Keep up the fine work.
Henry, I have watched this video so many times while pondering over the various options so thank you! Some quick Q's: 1. Do you know if the car you drove was equipped with Power Steering Plus? Any thoughts on it? 2. What did you think of the rear axle steering? Yay or nay? 3. Thoughts on the Sports Exhaust vs regular exhaust? Thanks!
Great review. Great car. Great watch. Nice way to end the day.
Way much better video than the other channel´s "reviews" showing how does a button works on the dashboard. this is a real petrolhead video
Was waffling between the different versions, but based on your comment about the 4S, I ordered the 2S - really appreciate your thorough and thoughtful reviewing style since they aren't available for test drives.

Without a film crew..... All I can say is Wow! Henry...... Brilliantly exicuted film 👏👏👏👏👏👏 I'm so glad you and James got on

You are the best car reviewer I have ever had the pleasure to watch. I wish for you to review tons and tons more cars.
Love the “Quick review as I haven’t got a film team with me”... queue glorious Mediterranean panoramic with car flying through. 😆
What is the music at the end? I keep Shazaming without any luck. Dope video as always. Goes without saying when Henry is reviewing.
@3:48 looking quite James Bond there, Henry. Great review, even if it's only the one-man "quickie" version. Can't wait for more!
Love the creases on the hood and arches, 992 is stunning. Porsche still evolves it into a better car and that interior is a much needed refresh. Prefer the 5 analog housing on the dials though but we have an uber cool horizontal dash now. Dream daily sportscar, always been.
Henry !!!!!! THIS IS AMAZING
Thanks Henry - great review. Didn’t lose anything not having the film crew with you 😉.

Steven James I love everything about this car. The new LED Matrix is a masterpiece in and of itself. I’m not so much worried about how it looks to look into the lights as I am about how it functions properly. The numerous lights picks and chooses what to illuminate. Leave it on “high”, as I understand it, and it’ll self-dim individual little lights so as to not be in oncoming cars’ faces, or on reflective signs (stop, yield, etc.). I do have the new 992 C4S, Guards Red, very nicely optioned, ordered. It’s currently sitting in customs in Houston, TX. Release date from there is Aug 26. Then on to Kansas City Porsche for dealer prep and more ordered Porsche holding until end of Sept.

I agree. Can't like those lights for some reason.
Great quality content again,,,, well done for getting this out there so soon before the KZreadrs come along with their "lifestyle content...." and shall I buy one routine... :-) if you keep this up, the KZreadrs have nothing to offer... it won't be long before you hit the million mark... pretty good considering you entered the game very late.
Henry you're one of the best! dare I say best car channel on youtube.....
I've been holding off watching this just so I can find the perfect quiet time to do so, alone and without disturbance. Weird, and only usually happens with Henry's videos.
When they created Porsche Carerra, the mold was broken. Porsche or non. I can't say enough about the beauty and the engineering of this car. Engineers are geniuses, and the car is a total beauty.
Excellent as always. No film crew? How did you manage to drive and get aerial shots :)
Wonderful....thanks henry...
Excellent review, I do hope there is some solution for the lack of sound with an aftermarket exhaust system or whatever.
What a wonderful piece of engineering. Congratulations to everyone at Porsche!
When I see Henry 's review of 911s, it's my favourite .what ever he said for thr C2s you will live to spec it up ,the car is amazing .the C2S Is that is the best option to buy with good power upgrade , wider body and pdk its awesome .

You sir are absolute top notch! And Carfection should have been first to have a go in the 992, not JWW. I know alot of blokes like him and all but he isn't even in the same league as Mr. Catchpole. Thank you sir.

I would imagine everyone (proper journalists and youtubers) get access at the same time but as you can probably imagine, carfection take time to produce their content as it has to be written and edited professionally. The youtubers have to cater for 10 year olds with 5 minute attention spans so if they don't churn out their content every day or so, their audience go off and play Fornite. I can just about put up with JWW in short doses but none of the vloggers can match a proper car journalist like Mr. Catchpole. Sorry if that offends any fans of the vloggers but a GoPro and a youtube channel is no subsitute for a proper journalistic background (or talent).
My usual comment: another Catchpole Classic!
Excellent review! It's great that Porsche has come through on the 992. (And, as a Florida native, Henry, it's "orange groves", not "orange orchards". Otherwise, it was perfecto!)
The glasses, the hair, this man is becoming an icon
Not the biggest fan of how it looks, but I’d love to drive one. Lovely video as always, Henry.
Unique content. Subbed.
This is the kind of sports car I want to do road trips in.
Good fun review! I think I may consider this model. My last 997 and 997.2.(gt3RS). Skipped the 991. I may need to try this new model. 🦅🦅🇺🇸
A new Carfection upload, a new Porsche and Henry is doing the review... it doesn't matter how shit a workday has been, it just turns the day around and it's all good again! :D
Great review. I picked up valuable information, especially from the comments on the 4S model. I have a 996 Carrera, but while the engine has a glorious engine note at high RPM, I would like the car a lot more if it had more low end torque, which looks not to be a problem with the 992 engines. I'm debating between the 992 Carrera and 718 Boxster or Cayman. Can someone tell me what the Carrera does that's better than the 718's? Just trying get as much feedback as possible.
I got a chance to see the car at Porsche HQ in Atlanta. 1.) The shifter doest look nearly as bad in person as it does on video and pictures. 2.) The interior in person is amazing. The cockpit wraps around the driver in a way that cant be seen on pictures and video. 3.) The new door levers are really cool. I was worried initially but when you open the car it has a reaally "good" feel to it. AMAZING car; just when you think it cant be better, IT IS
Hello, Henry... I loved the review, as usual. Cheers! Would be able to help me with some details... @1:51 What camera is that? I thought you guys have a GoPro or similar kind. What is that holder? @1:51 The camera behind your seat? @2:00 The one behind your seat? I think it is stuck on the outside? Thank you, Henry

Christopher O'Grady honestly, I think the exterior will age just fine: There is no clutter, all the lines are elegant, and as long as you don’t drive about with the spoiler in its most extended stage, it’ll be a looker, that will possibly be as timeless as the 993

@hans christian Sivertsen, the concerns are not about the mechanical stuff, but about all the electronics and software built into the car. Today’s microchips will be hopelessly outdated in 20 years time. Porsche basically needs to put enough spare parts in stock today to be able to provide them in the future. In aerospace this is called obsolescence management. Is Porsche doing that?
Very sophisticated, informative and well carried out review, as always. Could have done better without the muzzak in the background in some parts though (especially from @6:13 onwards).
