The 2020 Carrera 4S is the AWD variant of the all-new 992-generation of Porsche 911. With a twin-turbo 3.0L flat-six engine making 443 hp, it's got the power to hit sixty in under three seconds and crack 190 at the top end. There's a new 8-speed PDK gearbox, a new interior, and a new sound.
To get this video, Porsche flew me to Stuttgart, gave me a Carrera 4S, which I drove to Leipzig. We then put the cars on the plane, which we also got on, and flew to Cincinatti, to then drive the cars to Tail of the Dragon, and eventually, to Atlanta. Porsche Cars NA covered the expenses of all that so I could make this video.

I'm really enjoying the way these One Takes are now. I like Zach still doing the OG style of people's cool cars, then having you every once in a while with a car that you have had time with. Really diggin how things are going here.

Having just started to do some car review videos of my own, I cannot exaggerate how hard it is to do what Matt is doing in this video, i.e. speaking to camera in a cogent way while also driving at a decent pace on a road that he doesn't know like the back of his hand. @@StellarGale Let's say u can consider both. The turbo wouldn't be better as it would be less comfortable than the carrera and you don't need more peformance than this for a grand tourer. This is already supercar levels of speed or near supercar. Does 11 seconds 1/4mile. Anything faster than that probably means that you are looking for a supercar instead of a gt. I've driven the 992 4S at a launch event on Porsche's Leipzig cicuit and the handling is just otherworldly. I especially liked the sheer amount of thight corner grip and that the awd system is essetially rear-wheel drive except when you need it to pull you back on track. It just works perfectly. Absolutely in love with the 992.
Matt great review ! I bought a 4S a couple of months ago and can’t stop driving it. Have put 3k miles and your comments and observations are spot on. Best 911 of several I have been fortunate to own, great combination of sport and comfortable usability. And the grip and stability on the wet on the 992’s Wet Mode is incredible. Keep driving

Matt, excellent production! Great car, great storyline. Very well done, feels like old school Top Gear episodes.
Matt, Awesome to see you on the east coast ! Tail of the Dragon is a solid choice of road here in TN. There is another up near the Bristol Racetrack called the snake, aka Highway 421. We regularly have the local Exotics and Corvettes running around on it as well as some tuners and bikes.
Was there in my '19 C4S this summer and ran the Dragon up and down for a few hours. Was able to keep up with the motorcycles in front of me and wasn't even stressing the car. I enjoyed rowing my 7M. You can keep your PDK (even though I'm probably in the minority). The torque is plentiful down low. Mine has the OEM Michelins and they drove great even in the rain (it rained 30 inches over normal in some places near the Dragon). Perfect car for a the place. I don't mind the overdrive 7th, it real good for the interstate, 29+mpg, 24 mpg combined.
Love the 8 inch chef knife comparison.
