    You seem to favor large amounts of side spin and killing your speed with the rail. I understand that is a method that works great for you, but for me I would have to re-learn my aim, which I am reluctant to do because I am hitting shots consistently. Do you think that this is worth learning now as a less experienced player, or should I continue to develop my own style where I use speed and rails to control the cue ball without much spin?

  • @b3p

    You should start experimenting with small amounts of side spin (english) because it will allow you to reach positions with the cue ball that top/bottom/speed alone can't achieve. I personally recommend looking up Dr. Dave's System for Aiming with Sidespin (SAWS). In that system, you do some tests to figure out your cue's natural pivot point. From there, he shows some ways that you can systematically adjust for deflection and swerve on the fly.

  • @TheNuggzt3r
    @TheNuggzt3r Жыл бұрын

    I've seen your video about aiming with side spin. That's why I'm surprised that you talk about deflection here. At that slow speed even with my 30 € beginner cue there was no deflection. At that speed throw is what you need to account for, right? And swerve as it says in the top right of the video.

  • @tonicogsf

    @tonicogsf

    I think he just means it’s something you always need to account for. But yes, in this case there’s little deflection, little swerve, and a lot of throw. That’s why he aimed it fuller.

    Yes indeed, it's a remastered version of an older video. Unnecessary things where cutted out, some new graphics and slow motion was added, and the last part with the alternative options was added.
