    My driver seat won't slide forward and back because the buttons are missing. There's just a plug with wires in the hole where the buttons are supposed to be.

    Awesome, love that feedback. I have been watching the trends, and the 'Turbo' edition still has its viewers, but the 'Full Size' editions almost always has more views and likes. I will try it out on a few more videos and keep watching the trend. I think I will never get rid of the full length version of my video, just deciding if I should keep up with the quick versions too. As always, thanks for the valuable feedback, definitely helpful!

    Hi there! Great informative video. I have a -02 Grand Prix GTP that I want to install a power passenger seat into. I know that the -04 and up seats are a direct bolt-in to the '97-'03 models. If I convert a non-power seat by changing out the seat subframe, will I have the lumbar adjustment? Also, my questions concern the power hook ups. Since GM did not offer a power passenger seat option, what would be the best way to tap power for the passenger side (there is no harness plug on that side.) Thanks for your answers.

  • @NexusAuto

    @NexusAuto

    Thanks! Appreciate it! The seat you want to install...is it an aftermarket power passenger seat? Since the lumbar exists in the upper seat area, the mounting subframe shouldn't have any particular issue with the lumbar, unless there is something I'm overlooking (which is possible lol) Depending on the seat going in, if it has manual lumbar support, then the handle just has to be installed and accessible. If it has power lumbar, then you need to install a circuit to control that. As for the power seat, depends on the set up. Depends on how many adjustments there are coming from the seat going in...2 way, 4 way, 8 way, etc. You need power and ground for sure, and likely a relay of some sort, proper wiring, and a fuse. Or You may be able to splice into the existing power driver side seat (if you have it) and piggy back off of that, but then you couldn't use both power seats at the same time if 2 people were adjusting, as that can draw too much current pop a fuse. But that may or may not be an issue, if the driver seat is never really adjusted. Depends on how many people drive your GP. That's off the top of my head, but should give you some of the basics

    To each their own. I found that the T50 was too shallow and the splines were soft enough that it felt like it would have stripped for me. So the 15mm worked. And for newer viewers who only have a few tools, they don't need to worry about investing in a T50 since the 15mm does everything. But if it worked for you, nothing wrong with that. Nexus

    Hmmm. I honestly can't remember. Do you see any numbers or codes on it, by chance? The 4 plugs is probably for power passenger seat functions. I haven't seen that before (mine is a 05) and don't recall those connections either. So I'm just assuming.

  • @NexusAuto

    @NexusAuto

    11 ай бұрын

    That's tricky. It may need some special tools (a u-joint for the bolts in the back, for example). It's hard to say, but it wouldn't be easy. It'll be finding the right tool to fit at those back bolts. Once you get those 2 out, you can always work the seat around to get it out as best as possible.

    What if I forgot to take the fuse out

  • @NexusAuto

    @NexusAuto

    2 жыл бұрын

    The purpose of pulling the fuse is to prevent the airbags from possibly going off. If you didn't pull the fuse and nothing happened, then you were lucky and no air bags deployed. But sometimes, it can be triggered when removing the seats, which would be very bad and costly.

    You got it. I would say to double check your model...just check under the seat. mine is a 2005. When I removed the manual seat, I see that the plug for the power seats is already there...GM runs the wiring there, and just plugs it, so it does nothing.I just plugged it into the power seats and everything worked. The only thing that will not work is the heated seats.

    You wanna buy my 08 Grand Prix? Lol have so much issues with it. Keeps giving me an oil level low indicator but, all oil levels are good. Sometimes gives me reduced engine power but, I replaced the MAF sensor and it hasn't done it in a while. The issue I hate the most is the door locks don't work! They sound like they work and sometimes it does for like a second then it sounds like it looses power and does unlock or lock.

    I have a similar issue with the door locks. When I scan the car there is BCM code I clear and it works for a while, sometimes. The door lock rods might be sticking. I’ve broken and replace several of the plastic, screw on lock nubs. Also, check your trunk/door light circuit. I believe if your trunk is popped or interior lights are on, delayed locking is initiated.
