@@InfamousCrimeLocations it was a really sad time, everyone was affected by it. First off on that time there weren't many female polytechs so to have some die was hard for the school as well as other classmates. I remembered his mother worked at a hospital about five blocks from the school and the hospital is one of the biggest n most popular in the area. I think everyone flooded to the area just to give their sympathy to anyone who was on school grounds after incident. The memorial service was attended by everyone, it really showed us that we are really vulnerable even though we live in a country that has strict gun laws, it showed us also how easy it was for someone crazy to get guns.

Thanks for doing this one, Harmin. Until December 1989, Canada's worst random mass shooting was "The Shell Lake Massacre" which occurred in August 1967. Random murders affect Canadians very deeply, the whole country mourns. I'm hoping you will do you own "take" on "The Shell Lake Massacre" soon, (I know, I keep bugging you on it, the case was just recently uploaded by another KZreadr but it's dreadful, full of inaccuracies) RIP to all 14 victims. I’m from Canada and this event has never ever been forgtten . I was 24 years old when this happened. This was Canada’s worst mass in our country’s history. It is always marked and remembered on the day it happened. Marc Lepinewas a guy who was not doing well in life and did have a dislike toward woman who were smarter than him and getting ahead in life as the ladies were at Ecole Polytechnic. He resented them so that he went there and did what he did to these women. He was a sick disturbed individual. In Canada we don’t have the mass gun violence that the United States has an epidemic problem with. We have crime here yes but mass shooting like Ecole Polytechnic are not a regular occurrence in Canada. This really was a huge tragedy. Thank you for remembering the ladies of Ecole. All they were doing was getting a better education in Engineering and were murdered for being women get a skilled higher education. ✝️😔😥💐🌹✝️
I had never heard of this. *Great coverage of terrible murders.* *Safe travels, Friend.* 🙂👍🌹

How very terrible😑😔💔 Not blaming the gal but always best to not verbally challenge or confront a man who has a gun & hates women unless you are going to follow through taking the weapon. Awesome 🍁 has Dec 6th as a day for violence against women. Thanks for covering this guys😊

This was the catalyst for major changes in the licensing and possession of firearms in Canada.
@InfamousCrimeLocations

Did all guns get banned after this event or was there already a ban of sorts?
@kpatrick7901
Жыл бұрын
@@InfamousCrimeLocations Parliament introduced safety courses and stringent background checks to obtain a firearms licence after this. We can still posses handguns and long rifles although any semi auto centre fire rifle or shotgun must be limited to a 5 round capacity. Last year the government banned the further sale or transfer of any handguns . Basically if you own one you can keep it but when you pass on the government will confiscate and destroy it. Every licence holder gets a criminal check run on them every day by the government.
God bless you for doing a video for these people and their memory.

He ruined his own life. Coming from a predominately Muslim country, he was probably taught that women are inferior to men. Women studying a field dominated by males, when he couldn't even get into the college, must've really ticked him off. Very tragic! May everyone R.I.P.
The shooter targeted females mostly. What a coward. Mark is a weak person and it's insulting that he can be even called a man.
This was a somewhat unique story, as the shooter targeted women whom he believed represented feminists. Smh
Harmon. I haven't watched this video yet, but I'm very well acquainted with what happened. I'm in New Brunswick, the next province to the east of Quebec. A bitterly cold day in December 1989, and the day after the shootings the media, aside from reporting what had happened, was full of anti male rhetoric, spewing hatred for anyone with a penis. Candlelight vigils held on campus barred any males from attending, even though many of them lost friends. An entire gender suffered the slings and arrows for the actions of one man. I'm still pissed with the broad brushing over 33 years later. With no other demographic would that kind of horrid stereotyping be tolerated.
So sad when people can’t just accept their sexuality
Did he hate all women or just feminism? Just trying to figure out if it was political or stemmed from failures with women in his personal life? Tragic
