I am experiencing terrible hairfall, almost at the verge of balding due to PCOS. There is a general apathy for PCOS. I have had so many people shrug it off as if it were just nothing, but only I realize how it's taking a toll on my health, . I hope all my cysters get better

When I was 15 and they were first investigating for this my gynecologist at the time told me, word for word, "You're just fat, if you get moving and lose most of your weight you'll be fine". It only took me developing severe liver disease at 18 for them to do a proper ultrasound and diagnose it. You're absolutely right when you say people shrug it off; it's incredibly frustrating. I hope you're getting proper treatment and your hair loss improves.

I found that getting rid of simple carbs and eating nothing outside veggies, meat and fruit on occasion for a treat have helped IMMENSELY. Diet is everything with hormones. Make sure you eat cruciferous veggies with EVERY meal. If you can get rid of excess fat through diet (which lots of veggies help with insulin resistance) you can lower your excess hormone production. I'm on month 4 and I have a regular period, am down 15lbs, less hirsutism, sleep well through the night. Good luck everyone. I feel that through diet this is definitely curable.

My understanding is the extra androgens will make muscle growth easier and the insulin resistance will make fat loss easier as well as the extra muscle burning fat. I am sorry you made such experience. First of all. PCO IS NOT YOUR FAULT. That's a fact important for you to know. You will find a lot of hi ts that PCOS comes from being overweight, but that's not true. There are actually enough people with normal or just low overweight which have PCOS. Most Doctors will tell you the only option is to loose weight, but that's not true. Of yourse you can, but you fight against a disease which is actually the cause of this weight gain and not a result of it^A" A healthy and balanced lifestyle is the best you can do. It includes healthy food, Sport, but also a stressed reduced life. You have to learn and people around you have to learn, that Stress is toxic for you. Stress trigger the PCOS with all of It's side effects and this not only influence your Chance to become pregnant, it reduced your health when you are old as well. Let's say, PCOS bodies are sensitive to everything which is toxic for you. Physically and mentally^

Thank you for writing this. I'm 22 and I just got diagnosed. I feel myself going into depression already feeling like I'm infertile. I was on birth control since I was 16 due to endometriosis. At 21 I decided to completely go off after trying multiple anti depressants. Going off bc completely changed my mindset and anxiety depression.. however It started my PCOS, and irregular periods. & major acne and hair loss. I'm feeling so lost. I'm not sure what to do with myself. I tried so many different birth controls and they all changed me completely. I don't feel ready to start that process all again and weaken my mental health once again. Your comment made me feel at peace. I want to be Mom more than anything in the world and learning I have PCOS made me feel like that got taken. Snuggle that baby for me. With love.

This was such a great video. I was just diagnosed with this and I've always had regular periods, and only the past month have I had a lot of pain an irregularity. I'm 40 this has never happened before. After an ultrasound (and full blood work which that came back normal by the way) but my ultrasound did show several cyst on both sides, they called with my results. The pains that I've been having have only been on my right side nothing on the left so I was kind of stunned to hear I had cyst on both sides cuz I figured it would be painful on both sides. But legitimately the nurse practitioner that called me back just casually said oh you have PCOS we have three options for you and one of them was birth control. But because I have a slightly elevated RBC, 476 which it has been for two years and monitored and I take a baby aspirin every other day, she is starkly said oh no we can't put you on any kind of birth control because of risks of blood clots. So I said okay well how do I manage this since she said it's very common? And now I don't get to speak with my doctor for a full month, because they don't have any appointments open. So I've been miserable for a month, now I've been told hey here's why you're miserable, but I don't have any treatment plan and I'm left feeling hopeless and terrible until I can get an appointment. I have tried to reach out to other OBGYNs and I'm working on getting an appointment sooner than the end of july, but meanwhile I'm left to fend for myself and watch videos and hear people's stories to just try to do anything to not have to take Advil all day so I can feel like a normal person. I wish that the doctor or the nurse had given me any of this information that's in this video when they told me I have pcos. They literally explained it to me like it wasn't that big of a deal and it was completely manageable but then they aren't able to give me anything to manage it. It's frustrating to say the least..

How do you know you don’t have insulin resistance? Have you had a fasting insulin test done? It’s called HOMA-IR test. It is not commonly done by GPs. You have to ask for it. Btw, an increased waist to hip ratio is an indication that you may have insulin resistance. You can still be normal weight and have normal fasting blood sugar and have insulin resistance. Your body is working extra hard to keep your blood sugar under control, which leads to excess insulin which leads to insulin resistance.

Im relieved to have gotten a diagnosis but dang... what a bummer of a disease. I also have Crohn's disease which I take Humira for, anyone else on the same train (inflammatory disease of the digestive tract). Or know how inflammation could affect PCOS, or PCOS affects inflammation. Thanks

I did clomid a couple of cycles and did not respond, I ovulate on my own but they wanted to make sure to know when I got pregnant to put me on progesterone right away! I did Femera 5 mg cd 5-7, ovidrel trigger, then iui and got pregnant with my daughter (current pregnancy) and I’m 32.5 weeks today. don’t give up hope!

YES! This!! Is it early menarche or late menarche? Both? I had late menarche, and very irregular periods. Now I've been diagnosed with PCOS. Also, not every woman with PCOS is obese/overweight. Clearly this Syndrome defies a clear set of signs, symptoms, and risk factors.

I was complaining of extreme cramps in my uterus/ovaries for around 6-7 years. Doctors told me this pain for females is very normal and I don’t need to be checked because they thought I had fibromyalgia and BPD (then, before doing the correct tests). Now many years later it accidentally came up my hypothyroid turned hyperthyroid, and I waited 11 months for an ultrasound the doctor reluctantly referred me to - to find cysts the size of avocados in my ovaries! They then confirmed the CA125 ovarian cancer test - which came back raised! Meanwhile they had refused to teat me for years!! Only to ask: are you speaking to a therapist? Yes, I was. But the therapist could not refer me to ultrasounds. Medical gaslighting to the extreme. Since then it has also come up that my joint and muscle pains are more likely sourcing from a hyper-mobile condition as opposed to fibromyalgia. And my heart rate is high because of a leaky heart valve and Postural Tachycardia. They decided not to listen to my concerns, but my worried voice. And based on this assumed I am simply a worried person with fibromyalgia. Without understanding I was a worried person bc I was unable to earn a living and provide for myself! And I was in urgent need of medical help.

The good news is that you can prevent and reverse PCOS by going on a ketogenic diet (less than 20 grams of carbs per day). It's literally that simple. Do that for about six months and you'll look and feel like you have a new body. I've been on that diet for almost two years now. I'm happy to explain more or answer any questions or concerns you might have. Peace and love. ❤

Hi girls, I was diagnosed with PCOS unexpectedly in 2020. At the time I was eating all the wrong things so I’ve spent the last 2 years developing recipes that are PCOS friendly and very straight forward to make, as I work full time in London so I don’t get much time to cook! I’m thinking of sharing this knowledge I’ve built and writing a recipe book. I just wondered if there would be interest for this and how much you would be willing to pay for a PCOS cook book? Had regular 28 day periods from 11 years onwards all the way until I was 26 when my cycles started going funny and I started getting suspicious. Did multiple tests and doctors couldn’t find anything and told me it was stress but I knew deep down there was something more. Fast forward to 30 and everytime I pressed under my stomach I could feel bumps like small lumps that only be felt at certain stages of my cycle. I proposed PCOS and again doctors told me there was nothing there and the scan and blood tests were normal. I wasn’t happy but I left it and over the next 2 years gained so much weight and was fatigued all the time, my periods were also more spaced out going two months before having one, pregnancy tests were negative and then they found I was Type 2 Diabetic. Further tests finally proved PCOS and I was told that apparently I was diagnosed two years prior when I was 30 which I said I wasn’t and was told everything was normal! Of course I was angry but couldn’t do anything except accept that it is what it is.

Good news: your wife can reverse her PCOS in about six months without surgery, pills, or ancient mystical teas and drinks. PCOS is the result of chronic hormone imbalance. Chronic hormone imbalance is most commonly caused by (1) chronic inflammation and (2) chronic elevated insulin levels. ‼️ The most common *_root cause_* of chronic inflammation and elevated insulin levels is *chronic overconsumption of carbohydrates.*‼️ 👀*Keep daily carb consumption below 20 total grams per day for six months to completely reverse PCOS* Supplementary information follows: ⚠️ *Moderate and high carb foods* ⚠️ • Bread, rice, grains, noodles 🍞🥖🍚🍜 • Candies, sweets, sugary drinks, alcohol 🍭🍰🧃🍺 • Vegetables 🥕🥔🌽🫑 • Fruits, fruit juice, honey 🍇🍌🍓🍯 • Milk, cream, yogurt 🥛 ✅ *Low carb foods* ✅ • Meat (unprocessed) 🍖🍗🥩🥓 • Sea food (unprocessed) 🐟🦀🦞🦐 • Eggs 🥚🍳 • Butter/Ghee 🧈 • Salt 🧂 • Water 💧 You do not have to restrict calories to reverse PCOS, just limit carbs. 🚨 *NOTICE* 🚨 Suddenly restricting carbohydrates will likely result in temporary, unpleasant carbohydrate withdrawals. It is similar to suddenly restricting caffeine or nicotine - expect headache, mood swings, cravings, low energy, disrupted sleep, etc. These symptoms are temporary and not dangerous. As with caffeine withdrawals, carbohydrate withdrawal symptoms will pass in three to nine days. 🚨 *NOTICE* 🚨 Suddenly increasing daily fat consumption may cause temporary diarrhea. This happens as a result of your gall bladder not producing enough bile to process the incoming fat. In this condition, the body simply evacuates the fat it cannot process which results in diarrhea. You gall bladder will begin to produce more bile over time and the diarrhea will pass. You can take Ox bile as a supplement if you want to reduce the severity of the transition phase. 🔑 *Key point:* Keep your total daily carbs under 20g for six months and your PCOS will be resolved. I can explain in more detail and answer any questions or concerns you might have. She doesn't have to surfer. ❤

@9ineo Unfortunately I’m not a doctor and I can’t give you any medical advice but I will tell you it’s nothing to be afraid of. Pcos most of the time doesn’t affect you if you’re doing the right things. As long as your keeping your weight at a right amount health problems won’t be much of an issue. Also having pcos doesn’t make you infertile it just makes it harder to get kids. I’m currently taking birth control to control my hormones and getting everything at a normal level. I recommend going to the doctor and asking more about it and getting tested if possible. Don’t self diagnose yourself and try pills it could end up making things worse. Again Remember It’s Nothing To Be Afraid Of.

Some doctors are big fans of whole food diets for PCOS patients because taking processed foods out of your diet can help a lot with the inflammation. Some people even go as far as cutting out meat and dairy as well because they believe the hormones in these products are bad. I don't necessarily agree with going vegan for PCOS, but it works for some people. I think its important to figure out if your PCOS is genetic or if it's due to environmental factors like your diet before picking a diet to help. Personally, a basic low glycemic diet has helped with my PCOS. Across the board, people seem to agree sugars (excluding fructose) are harmful to women with PCOS. Exercising for at least 20-30 minutes a day is also beneficial, even if it's just walking.

I have never had a normal period in my life. Only every 2-3 months. It took the doctors until I was 34 to diagnose me with PCOS. I’m now old af to have kids and have been trying for years without success. If only I knew when I was younger I could have started trying in my 20s. Has anyone had a late diagnosis and still had children?

@@ellennaj3382 I got a quote for $50K for IVF. That is not fiscally possible for us and really does push my religious beliefs. We ended up deciding to become foster parents. The day we were approved was the day I found out I was pregnant. I have a beautiful baby girl who is almost 4 months old now.

they don't need a low carb diet! A plant-based diet can work, as well.

I think a low-glycemic diet, with an emphasis on including protein, fibre, and healthy fat should work as well.
