Just Picked up a pair on Amazon for $116 they are used but if I don't a likea them. I'll return them. Love your review on these The solution for limited bass is a powered external I have a Pioneer 8'' woofer that has the speaker facing downward love it adds all the base I need for full rich sound Which I picked up on Ebay for $125 including shipping, Had a rattle when I fist tried them and was just a loose vent port was easy to fix save about $60. I have the Polk Audio s10 and I love them. After I watching your video I checked the black plastic on Them and all was good, nice and tight no noise when tapped on with my fingers. Thanks Again

Thank you! Love your 'quick review', as you say. I hope Polk is paying attention here, because it is a shame that this speaker reeks of quality, with the exception of that loose front panel. While attractive overall, in my opinion, Polk should have used some kind of long term adhesive or something to fix the problem. It would be nice if a representative from Polk comments here, to assure the customer that this issue will be remedied. This is 'make or break' for some speaker buyers who demand overall quality.

Would you say these speakers sound better then average? Like better then anything Logitech makes? I can get a pair of Polk S15s for $165. At that price, do you think there's anything I can get that would sound better?

I think the Signature speakers are to replace Polk's own TSX line at the same price. The mid is still a little weak but treble blends better. The Powerport may also give more placement freedom. Your videos and reviews must be the most helpful on earth right at this moment. Keep on good works!

Does anyone know where the little rubber pads with adhesive backs go. I looked through all the paperwork, manuals and there's nothing said about where these go? Are they applied to the grills or the speakers ? where are they placed?

I know this may sound like a crude idea, but if nothing else works maybe find some sort of epoxy or glue to stop rattle from your face plates? Just a rough rough idea... But if it works it would still be out of sight and out of mind. I really love s20's and I have some KEF also.. also excellent. I hope you are still enjoying these. Cheers.

Hello, can you please tell me how the Polk Signature S15's compare to the JBL 530 just on sound quality? The 530's were my previous speakers but unfortunately I had to sell them last year. Now I can't afford speakers that expensive. Do you think I can still be happy with this sound coming from the 530? This time around though, I will have a dedicated Bic America F12 subwoofer unlike before I just had my 530's and that was it. So the bass should be better, right?

I can't find the JBL Studio 230 for anywhere close to $220 not even used off eBay. So the ELAC B4 is my best option? You wouldn't recommend the Polk S15? I've seen someone on Reddit who has the ELAC B6 and Polk S15 and they show pictures and comparisons and they believe the Polk S15 are way better and that the ELAC series is over praised and over hyped. What do you think?

Excellent review. Also, thx for the heads up on the loose baffle. I guess the owner will have to silicone that baffle secure. In the end, sound performance is what matters. A speaker can be built better than any other, but, if the sound doesn't match the build, then the design is for not. Once I hang my speakers, build & appearance is 2nd to sound. ELAC B5 will win the day, according to your review. If the sound is what matters. And, it does! ELAC B4, B5 & B6 are by far the winners in their class.

Adrian G: I know the KEF Q100's are also an original Andrew Jones design. But, can the Q100's be played loud & hard without distortion? The ELAC's are known for taking torturous volumes without breakup or speaker damage.

  • @asesinocereal

there is no information on the internet that Q100's was a design by andrew jones. I had the elac b5 and wharfedale 225's and I'm not a reviewer so I can honestly say IMO kef Q100 are better.

Tharbamar - any moving or loose piece, material, cover, screen etc on the front of a speaker will end up vibrating like the reed of a clarinet - with all the sympathetic and harmonic vibrations. That is horrendous quality control.
