Hex-Logic Polishing / Buffing Pads:
bit.ly/3N26Nqo
Engineered, developed and tested to specific requirements of our OEM clients. These pads utilize the best foams from around the world and the latest of testing and research and development including Chemical Guys own Self Centered backing system!
The Hexagon is not new to science, it's just new to detailing. Rather then try to reinvent some catchy gimmick, Chemical Guys invests in technology that through the years has simply been unbeatable and improves on it. Hex-Logic pads are designed to hold product and distribute it evenly over the surface of the pad, delivering a superior even finish that is hard to achieve with any other pad.
Nature selected the Hexagon for storage and designed it to be one of the most efficient holding cells. For example a mass of hexagonal wax cells built by honey bees in their nests to store honey and pollen. The bees build the comb with 6 sides for even distribution of product fast and effectively.

If polishing is used to bring out shine and remove scratches, and there are harder pads that u can use, why do u use “compound”? Also... is green and orange pads for compounding and the ones on the bottom for polishing?

Than You. Enjoyed this because I learned something important about the quality, selection to use the right pads for the right resulting in an excellent car polish job. Using the right pad is important as you do not want the incorrectly use a pad not suitable for a particular and demanding job and ruin a car's paint worth several thousands of dollars. Its illuminating and enjoyed it very much.

Every Paintwork is Unique. Even in a specific manufacturer, the paint can differ from model to model. Every paintwork requires a "Test Spot" to ensure you have a proper combination. I would recommend to start with V36 and an orange pad as a baseline then adjust the pad or polish accordingly to achieve the desired results. -Greg@CG

If time is not a problem and I have all the products, should I do a 2-3 step polish and finish with V38? I am asking because sometimes I see that you stop at V36 and was wondering if you stop there because the V38 would be overkill? Also I have a white 2013 volkswagen jetta and was wondering if that paint is considered ''hard'' or ''soft''? I tried V36 with an orange hex pad and it removed about 20% of the swirls. Should I try V34 or even V32 with an orange pad? I am affraid to go to aggresive. I have the torq 10FX and use it on speed 5

try sticking with the V36/VSS but switch over to the mircofiber pad. If that doesnt work u can switch over to a 34 with a yellow pad, and if that doesnt work then switch back over to a microfiber pad again and so forth. Just work your way down from least aggressive in pads and compounds. You'll see that there are many different combinations that could get the job done! hope this helps.

My order of blacklight car wash and glaze arrived yesterday. I'm going to get the harbor freight polisher today. I plan on washing the truck claying it putting the blacklight glaze on then using the wet butter wax. Can I use just the orange white and black pads for that whole process? Or would it be better for me to purchase the blue pad for the glaze? I'm new to this so any information will help.

Hey Jason, sounds like you have a great plan of action! Yes, you can use the orange and white pads for the polishing process, then use the black pad for the glaze and wax. Check out the link below for more information and tips to use while polishing! I'm in the process of polishing a 1946 Teardrop trailer that's made out of aircraft aluminum that has oxidized, and I've done one side of the trailer by using Blue Magic metal cleaner which came out okay but was a lot of work I'm not going to try with pads on side but was wondering which pad I should use to apply the Blue Magic metal cleaner with? The wool pad or one of the foam pads? Thanks for any help you can give .

Hi there! Using a microfiber pad will easily cut through oxidation and stains using metal polish.

Is there such thing as a list as far as names of cars that have harder paint and softer paint like you mention F-150 Corvette has a hard paint how about a Honda or GM product. How would you go about finding out if it's hard or soft paint on the vehicle you're working on?

How about Scholl S20 ? I have managed to remove pretty heavy swirl marks from careless washings in 3 passes. Used wool pad but with wool been as human straight thin hairs. Pad went dry in seconds. Every half of the pass had to reapply S20 and moisture pad with spray water. Loved the results but process and amount of product made me cry. Tried medium firm thick none flexi pad but for noob me it was jumping in my hands and i could not get to hard to reach , places and bends .... Could you please recommend some flexi pad for Scholl S20 1 step compound. I need flexy so can press on the edge and get it flexing over bends. Please Kind Sir
