I just bought one identical to yours from a friend for $500 and the grease zerks were all neglected on it, all of the u-joints are worn out and the red plastics were faded to pink. I found some brown plastics off a 325 in decent condition, so it is now brown. I am waiting for parts to arrive now. The saving grace is that it runs good.

Thanks for the video. I wasn't aware of the grease jerk on the rear union. A comment about the oil. It is full synth 0-40 but it is supposed to be the powersport oil listed in the manual. Because the oils have friction modifiers it'll make the centrifugal clutch slip.

Thanks for the comment, James. Thats a good point that I had not thought of. I will say that my dad put whatever oil he had laying around in it the last 15 years and never had trouble with it. My dad never rode it hard tho. I’ve got the bike fully repaired and haven’t noticed any issues. Would it be more prone to slip during shifts or when its in gear with a lot of throttle applied or both? Also, what do you ride?

@@howtohero4723 The oil thing is based on the spec of the oils. It has to do with polaris' recommended oils. The oil doesn't have a friction modifier. It's basically straight oil with a foaming detergent. Can't say if it would under a higher load. I haven't ran anything other then factory spec. FYI online forums do have guys that ride hard and say they had issues. Personally I ride a 2000 xpedition also. Been replacing parts pretty steadily. It was left in a field for 4 years. Ride it pretty hard. I'm Canadian so it sees all kinds of environments. I bet that rear grease jerk in mine was never done either

They sell aftermarket oils that say safe for wet clutches. Gotta read bottle and also see the iso rating

I still haven’t had any trouble with the clutch slipping with the mobile 1 full synthetic 0W40.
