No other people or choices to make to try to get more in the pot Only acceptable delay is double checking the suits of your cards to make sure you have the flush. After that it is a MAJOR etiquette violation that some find only actual cheating to be worse behavior.

    @Regis Johnson no, the fact he eventually lost the hand is not evidence he did not slowroll his opponent. It is a slowroll because there was no decision but to call all in as soon as he checked to verify both his cards were diamonds and he had the current best hand possible. had the bet not been big enough to put him all in, or if there were others in the pot when the bet big enough to put him all in then it would not have been a slowroll.

    This hand never gets old to me. Karma at it's finest, especially when he actually had fewer outs than the display showed. A 6 was mucked by one of the other players. So he only had 3 outs and hit one of them.

    hollywooding is alright if maybe they bet like pot or something and you dont wanna show the strength of your hand just yet so you can get them to put more chips in later, but if someone goes all in and you have the nut flush you have to instantly call, it's not even a question.

    Yeah, that's completely different. You're acting like it's a tough decision to make your opponent question what you have, that's good poker psychology. There's absolutely no reason to do it here unless someone is just trying to be a jerk in life. There's just somethings in life you don't do.     What you're describing isn't slow-rolling - it's just a normal aspect of poker (to try and represent a hand you don't have, in order to maximise your winnings). What this guy did was disgusting. But I felt he played the hand really strangely from the outset. He seemed to be pretty short-stacked, and KQ-suited is a strong hand at that stage, but anything can happen once the flop comes out. The fact he just called (as opposed to shoving) was a bit of a surprise. And I genuinely cannot see why he slow-rolled for so long. Part of me wonders if he misread his cards - perhaps he didn't realise they were suited.

    Yep. I don't know how but I think he is clueless. Look at how he reacts to everything. I honestly think he was thinking over kq as if they weren't suited and being short he said what the hell. When he flipped everyone said what are you doing moron and he realized his mistake and was either ok with going out or was further confused by the boat hitting and all the noise. You watch the videos and see the highlights but you don't see the thousands of hands in between em. Clearly not a luck amateur, but I honestly think that guy thought his cards were something else, not suited perhaps, and played it out that way. Then when revealed he was in a blur with people hating him so he didn't even realize his opponent won. Surreal minute, but it happens. Saw chip leader at Tunica years back on a decent sized tourney flip out, lose three in a row, then seemed to have no idea he was beat when on bottom end of a straight. Happened in like 20 minutes real time

    This is why I'm so nervous playing live. I've played online for years but never played in a real live tournament, just with friends. I could easily see myself doing something like this (obviously it wouldn't be on purpose though). Online it's less embarrassing since you're just a nickname on the screen instead of an actual person

    His explanation for this afterwards was that he thought he had King of diamonds and Queen of HEARTS - so he was deciding whether or not to push in on a flush draw. Not sure if that's actually true, but it's a good reminder to check your cards properly.

    i would believe it except he keeps constantly checking his hand, even gives it a look after donnacha puts him all in, puts it down.. waits a bit longer... checks it again.. if he really misread his queen after checking that many times i dont know why he's even at a poker tournament.

    Even if true, he's getting 3:2 against top pair, 2:1 against two pair, and 3:1 against top set with just his NUT draw. And that doesn't include times he's got two live cards like against JJ, dominating another king, or worse. Short stacked and this much equity... this is an automatic shove for his tournament life. He's NEVER getting a better shot to double up. Should have shoved pre-flop.

    If you also followed the hands slowly, a 6 was in the muck pile, so the odds of him hitting the full house was worse. True justice for the gent. You can't slow roll someone with an ace high flush using and wasting so much time. Just go all in and take your chance. He would have been sympathized going through a bad beat instead.

    I've done something like this on accident before (guy in the video obviously wasn't accidental). I had a different suit than what I thought and ended up tanking for a long time, when I finally called the all in I saw my hand was nuts. It was cash so I just waited for the river and thankfully he sucked out so I didn't have to table my hand and look like a douche or explain my mistake.

    @@Simon1985_ You have only ever in your life played poker in the tournament format. Not once have you ever played cash poker. Fact. In cash games you are never required to table your hand. The only reason it's a rule for all ins in tournament poker is to prevent chip dumping. At no point in a cash game are you ever required to table your hand. Only if you want to win the pot. You're not even a poker player so stop commenting on videos like this until you learn how to play. Go play more tournament freerolls

    No. If the board had paired (in which case the nut flush isn't possible), I could see a bit of thinking first. But in this flop, you have around an 80% chance even against 2 pair or 3 of a kind....if you're not sticking your small stick in with those odds, just give up trying to play.

    I think he was being an ass because of just how long he took, but maybe he was on a pay bubble, but you can't get it in better short stacked with a king flush, even if he read him with pocket aces or what not, at most the decision should take less than 10 seconds regardless of pay bubble, you're not folding. I dont know why else hed act this way, maybe the tv played a part

    @@maribelperez520 Donnacha had put Andreas all in on the flop so there would be no more betting taking place on the turn and river. Also what makes this bad is the fact that Andreas was on a 5bb stack preflop, so he should have insta called Dannacha's flop bet with the effective nuts. He made Dannacha think he was going to win the hand by pretending to have a hand on the cusp of making the call when he actually had the nuts. Should have shoved preflop with KQs really.

    @@maribelperez520 When the flop came, the guy had the absolute best hand possible _at that moment._ The reason he "slowrolled" was because he was never going to fold the absolute best hand possible at that point, so he should have just immediately put his chips in the middle.

    Yeah I mean this is not a spot you have to discuss technically. He has the nuts and is pretty likely to have 97% equity here and in worst case he has 66% so even if there is any ICM this is a snap call.
