Funny enough the Mewtwo Battle seems more unsettling without that voice knowing what Mewtwo is capable of. The implications he might have killed or knocked out the announcer.

I think people that aren't from the 1st generation have no clue how the experience really was. It had a certain charm to it, because it was that new amazing thing every child had to talk about. And when the 2nd generation came, that blew us away even further. But once the 3th came, although that was very amazing as well, there was already a cetain routine to it and it lost a little bit of it's magic. And because most of us were starting to hit puberty then, they stoped playing. A big mistake as I think and luckily today those games still exist and we have the opportunity to play them with technology we wouldn't even dreamed about when the first games came out.

I was wondering how Magneton isn't resistant against Body-Check, then I remembered how Steel didn't exist until Generation II

This game was hard with just rentals. You could do it but a good amount depended on luck lol.

97% of nostalgia, 98% of nostalgia, 99% of nostalgia....

Now this is what a true Pokemon game looks like. None of the usual gimmicks that come with the later games. Plus the music for this part of the game is absolutely epic.

+KasaiWolf07 this is Pokémon Stadium not the RPG or Colloseum or Batlle revolution, this is a battle sim that is still f***ing hard (barely beaten round 1 yet. and I have te misfortune of having 2 Pokémon Stadium games.)

Haruhi Suzumiya The true pain starts at round 2....everyone playing with their pkmns ev maxed and with badass attacks. they have the tendency to switch if you have typing advantage.

The animations are so much better than sward and shield.

It took me forever to get this with rentals. Here was my team Dewgong: a solid water type. Jolteon: lots of speed to help Jynx: huge help again the elite four. Psychic, Ice Punch, and Lovely Kiss all did wonders. Dugtrio: best ground type rental Electrode: electric types were especially useful against Lance. Arcanine: not really useful until the rival battle.

I loved that in my childhood: " ohhh it's down" :')

I kind of copied your every move and I won. It's been 12 yrs. thx

At the beginning of the rival battle, I thought the AI would pull a dick move at any time by switching out to Sandslash and making your Zapdos' first Thunderbolt useless. Bait-and-switch sure can make a great strategy sometimes.

***** That strategy of Bait-and-switch is seen A LOT in Round 2. They start with a weak pkmn on purpose, and then they switch for something better with certain type inmunity according to the type of attack the player used....as if they can somehow predict you.

ChrisPTY507 Yep, I've seen that almost too much during my runs of beating the Elite Four and Blue/Gary with my yellow team. I either had to pray my attacks would do enough damage to finish off my opponent in the second turn or be forced to switch out myself. That's really the RNG landing better predictions right there.

1st Battle. Zapdos Sweep. 2nd Battle. Starmie Sweep. 3rd Battle: Alakazam. 4th Battle: Great Battle. 5th Battle: Great rival battle. You are a great battler. I use to have the biggest problem beating them. Not to mention, they pick the perfect announcer for this game he used to have me so amped.

Eesh, the people who think this person cheated with all the critical hits. Gen 1 was a weird time. Critical hit ratios for a Pokemon were based off base speed and not a flat value. So something with a high base speed like Zapdos could be landing crits often. Persian basically could always crit using slash and its high base speed.

Thanks for actually knowing facts on how Gen 1 worked back then. I actually love going through the comments of people stating that I alleged “cheated” while in fact they’re showing that they don’t know the mechanics of this game. I find this really disappointing because the Pokémon Stadium series are among the games that many of us played during childhood, so at least a basic familiarity with this game is to be expected.🤷🏽‍♂️

It depends if you a ground type that move is stabb so it will do more than a normal type pokemon or a water pokemon like feraligator use earthquake so it just depends on if it's at full stats

Despite being 1 ghost type Gengar was one of my most favorites!

Damn this was really difficult to beat back then when I was little had trouble against Lorelei.

The funny thing about the Rival fight is depending if you use rentals or a particular starting setup with the Game Boy games, his team is different (for the Game Boy situation I mentioned that way because Red/Blue/Green and Yellow have 3 different setups based on your starter, and for Yellow based on your performance in the 1st fight and the optional 2nd fight (assuming you won the 1st one).

Yup. Psychic type Pokémon were broken in gen 1. This is why dark and steel types were introduced in gen 2

project 64 1.6 has an option where you can load a gb game and save to appear on pokemon stadium

The elite 4 in stadium 1 can't handle a single Mewtwo. And the elite in ps2 couldn't handle my team with Lugia.

Well you gotta download the regular bandicam and then google the crack and woala! Got a premium software without spending a damn penny, lol. There's a lot of that kind of tutorials here in youtube.

Actually Pokemon stadium 2 is potentially easier due to the slightly wider array of pokemon types.

Corva no, she uses ghost types but in gen 1 gengar was the only fully evolved ghost type. for example, in fire red she uses a misdreavus in the rematch

@@sukhmeet8665 Yeah. And also when you beat the whole game, you get an amnesia psyduck, which was pretty broken back then. Special attack and defense was condensed in a single stat called Special, so amnesia raised it by 2 levels allowing you to easily sweep teams. People tend to underestimate the rewards given by this game.
