Instead Arjun got to play Bg5, getting the Bishop out, so when Black -then- played Nc6, the Queen’s step back didn’t block a bishop. Maybe he’s one of those ‘opening moves don’t matter’ types… 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️🙏

  • @turtle752436
    @turtle75243624 күн бұрын

    didn't find it. And really I should have, and to make me humiliation worse, the line I chose had more variation to worry about, than the solution. I guess it goes to show, that chess did really get a boost, when, long time ago queens where changed to go "walkabout", compared to the previews iteration, where queens movements where the same as a kings, basically rather more flexible pawns, and indeed with rooks the most powerful pieces, you had two chances, and then the endgame became a very interesting pawns and perhaps queens and kings game. Makes you think how ridiculous we have become, as that change (queens movement) is basically going from chess to speed-chess, wtf do you want with blitz and the Armageddon stuff. Greed... a sin most easily excused these days, disguised as ambition, or even things like never quitting and such. And really I would dare lichess, which is the premier open platform to bring back this iteration as a variation of chess. It pays not to forget whence we came from, least we make the same mistakes again, or even get too high on our achievements.

    @nicktomato7 the game essentially as Agad explained, ended very quickly after that early queen lateral move (one square move, funny enough) and black neglecting to move the bishop. It's too unforgiving and simplistic with a queen so powerful compared to old chess. Don't get me wrong, it is what it is. Just some perspective on the benefits not just the risks of moving the queen out early.
