The cost of attending Eton means that nearly every student who goes there is the child of a multi-millionaire. They are segregated from ordinary Britons and have a peer-group that is nearly entirely composed of heirs to large fortunes. People naturally look out for the interests of their families and friends ahead of the interests of often hostile strangers (who are so uncivilized that they don't even know which fork to use for the fish course at a dinner). Poorer students who attend on scholarships are deliberately trained to identify with the ruling class.

And only now he's been caught out. That is no basis for putting it all behind us. That is the basis for resigning. Politics, corruption and privilege have become such an exposed and tragic joke in this country people are becoming blind to its reach and consequences. Although he is still a street entertainer who maintains rain or shine support the further away you travel from London or the other major cities in the UK. Apart from the damage that he has caused whether from brexit or his tardiness in dealing with the pandemic we now must face up to energy shortages and price rises in food and other goods thus having a different PM is essential for the national interest. There are also international problems in the Ukraine,China, and still the Middle East so a new leader is required who commands respect in the international community. The advantage of being able to choose between Starmer and whoever succeeds Johnson is that it will be a conscious decision for the British electorate to accept grown up politics again rather than Trump style populism and focus upon hard decisions not retreat into an infantile way of seeing only personal indulgence as the response to life's problems. We need serious people to deal with serious challenges not the classroom anti hero who enthrall timid classmates with dare do rebellion.

Do you remember a retired nurse and members of her family being arrested for removing her elderly mother from a Care Home, to go and live with them? The family members, who were highly qualified to care for their own relative, were arrested, and the dying, elderly grandmother was forced to go back into solitary confinement in the care home. It was an evil travesty for thousands of elderly people, imprisoned by the state, and by care homes - whilst Boris and chums were holding illegal parties.

What's interesting when questioned in thr House. He always retorts how well they have done. They haven't done anythjng. Myself and my NHS colleagues et al did it. No one picked up on the comment he made 10 years of NHS neglect. How long have the tories been in office? ( I never use the word power).

I honestly find these PMQs truly unbearable. I used to watch and I’d perhaps learn something, or I’d at least understand the perspectives of the opposition and the PM through time. Now, it’s like a pantomime, but it’s not entertaining, there’s no decency, no honour, no dignity and worst of all there’s no respect. I speak specifically of Boris and the Government, because quite frankly, whilst I do not agree with Conservatives as a whole, I have never, ever been so repulsed by any government. I’ve asked my elders, I’ve asked peers, I’ve asked my juniors and if there’s one thing all have said consistently, it’s that British politics has never ever been this bad. There’s an old saying “never ascribe malice to that which could be explained by incompetence!” Well, it’s pretty clear, it was as clear as day from the very first notification we had about Covid the government have acted in malice showing little more than utter contempt for those who put them there. (I didn’t, I could never vote for a man who’d been fired twice for lying from jobs where lying is a CV requirement. But, this is what we got!)

Sophia Grace: I'm in my 50's and have followed politics most of my adult life. No, there has never been a government this dishonest, corrupt and shameless. There has certainly been instances and individuals in the past, but never has it been the norm before. BJ and his entire cabinet are repulsive, and this is not just a left v right issue, this is about personality.

You don't think even they believe what they're saying. 4. They lie constantly. 5. You can't seem to stay mad at them. 6.They don't have many (or any) close relationships. 7. You feel like you're the only person in the room.
