Ian Blackford v Boris Johnson: The full exchange
SNP leader Ian Blackford clashed with Boris Johnson once again during PMQs on Wednesday, demanding answers over the prime minister's whereabouts on the night of a lockdown-breaking party at No 10.
Their back and forth came less than 48 hours after Mr Blackford had been ejected from the House of Commons on Monday for refusing to withdraw a remark suggesting Mr Johnson had misled the house.
"We face the real prospect of a sitting prime minister being questioned under caution and being fined in office," the SNP leader said in one scathing attack, calling for Mr Johnson's resignation.

My God. Boris is running out of diversions. He's been talking about that vaccine rollout for a good year now. And it falls on deaf ears when we realise he wasn't even taking the loss of lives seriously in the first place
If MPs were, indeed, "honourable members" they would have ALL walked out in solidarity. Instead, they continue to allow Boris to flippantly insult any honour that the House thinks it retains.

@@muhammadsaad847 I said "ALL walked out in solidarity". Well done, Ian Blackford for his own action. However, it would have been an historical moment, and redemption of our democracy, if half the house had united to chant "LIAR, LIAR, LIAR ..." and follow him out live on television.

@@freepalestine.23 I would beg to differ. I have had extensive dealings with both MP’s at Westminster and MSP’s in Holyrood, due to me being a campaigner and core participant of the Infected Blood Inquiry and long term campaigner for the cause. Over 3 decades I have spoke to MP’s , campaigned, had interviews, supported and moved early day motions in the HoC , and i can unequivocally say that when i dealt with the MP’s in Scotland we were actually listened to with a bit of compassion, and they acted as if they wanted to help. And indeed they did help, with the help of Scottish MP’s we achieved support payments for all who were infected by contaminated blood. Something that took us 3 decades of campaigning at Westminster, took only 2 years to achieve in Scotland. As soon as Scotland implemented the scheme, England, Wales and NI followed suit, and not long after that Theresa May announced the Infected Blood Inquiry. Now do not get me wrong….MP’s across the UK, a large amount of them, are career politicians and will do and say whatever it takes to hold on to their jobs. But there are a minority who actually care about their jobs and work honestly and compassionately for the people, and we found a lot of those in Scotland. Westminster itself breeds competition and contempt between MP’s and unfortunately the whole place is mired in bureaucracy and game playing…. Most of which is by design, might i add. Just look at how the PM behaves, it’s no wonder the MP’s behave the way they do when their leader blatantly does not care about the rules and publically flaunts his imbecilic ways with very little consequence. Luckily the devolved parliaments haven’t fallen completely down that rabbit hole yet, and change is more easily effected there. MP’s there simply have less at stake and are willing to help a lot more because they don’t feel that every move they make is a gamble on their standing or reputation.

Haha, almost every single Bo Jo's answer goes like "What I think ppl really want to know is ...." and then he goes on with his typical BS, completely dodging questions, this man is a pathological liar🤦♂️
The Westminster parliamentary system relies on there being at least a degree of decency in the political leaders. When a rotten apple gets to the top, the system rapidly becomes dysfunctional. For instance, the prohibition on calling someone a liar -- a useful restraint under normal circumstances -- is now an obstacle to truth telling and straight talking.
@mimikurtz2162

An MP can call someone a liar without consequence except being removed from the House for the rest of the session which prevents the debate collapsing into name-calling and personal insults. There are no further repercussions. It doesn't happen often because, as an isolated action, it's rather pointless. There is a Parliamentary process for removing a rotten PM from office, but too many MPs think only of their own careers and don't want to rock the boat.
This PM is unbelievable he will not answer a straightforward question. where were you, just a deceitful power hungry man who will cling on to power until his party has the common decency throw him out of office.
The world is laughing at what the British consider a party.

"Will the Right Honourable gentleman retract his statement and say that the Prime Minister is an ok guy?" (aka "lying") Mr Speaker seems to be much nicer today - like Ian and him kissed and made up behind the scenes. And that's what Ian was doing - alone, he stood up for the rule of law and parliament in the face of a lying clown.

This is the hypocricy fallacy. A mistake in reasoning. 'Tu quoque' ("you also") is a discussion technique that intends to discredit the opponent's argument by attacking the opponent's own personal behavior and actions as being inconsistent with their argument, therefore accusing hypocrisy. This specious (superficially plausible, but actually wrong) reasoning is a special type of ad hominem attack. A person’s behavior does not invalidate that person’s argument and reasoning. The fact remains that Boris is PM, and betrayed the responsibility he carries as representative and leader of the people of the UK by failing to adhere to the rules he helped create...
