I've done these drills for 20+ years but this is the best coaching and instruction I have ever seen. Well done coach. I love that you're identifying exactly which muscle needs to contract and relax. Sprinters in-tune with their bodies need this type of instruction.

I used to stub at the ground thinking that somehow propel me forward because that is what most sprinting coaches show here in KZread. I am a soccer player and wondered why I can't speed up. I studied Hussein Bolt for months one day It revealed to me what he was doing. The guy was not stubbing the ground at all nor did he used his quads as most non trained people do to plant and push, he was actually scratching the ground with his boots barely enough to wedge the bottom of his shoes into the ground and drive them back as forcefully as he can using his gluts and the momentum he gathered from a higher foot position. This allows for a seamless work rate exchange between the quads and the gluts at high speed. Quads bring the foot down, the quads drive it backwards.
