Haha, that was brilliant! Love your patter, & you are a machine in the gym, Aimee!! No need to be embarrassed - anyone watching you who was even a halfway decent person would see a lovely young woman having a red hot go at getting fitter & heathier - someone to be applauded, admired & respected - disregard the negative nellies, not worth bothering with! :)

A helpful tip for your squats and lunges, try to keep your knees from going over your toes. If you watch the squat footage your knees are going too far forward. It may help with any knee pain. Just trying to help!

Hey, so as someone plus sized who went to gym regularly before covid, switched to hiking after covid, got an ankle injury and became more plus sized afterwards before doing physical therapy for said ankle: stability and mobility are super important to these exercises. Theres a lot of physical therapy videos on youtube, squat university being one of them. If you're having pain/afraid of injury and cant go to physical therapy, i highly highly recommend adding stability/mobility workouts and warm up to your routine. Its going to help you in the long run lift better and prevent injury. Good luck.

Girl! Take it from someone who’s been bodybuilding for 10 years, your lunges are fire! Your form is amazing. Don’t be worried literally about anyone else in that gym. There’s no reason for you to be self-conscious. Most people focus on only themselves but even if they don’t, you have nothing to worry about. You’re doing great.

I usually keep my eyes to myself and avoid eye contact with anyone. BUT if I ever look at anyone else in the gym, it’s to see how someone is using a piece of kit: there’s always new ways that can be learnt from others to get the best / most out of kit for your body. I’ve even tried copying someone, not got it right, gone up to the person and said ‘sorry, I saw you doing something brilliant in that kit but I’m not sure how you did it, would you mind showing me how you did it?’ Then I’ve been shown / corrected and gone away with another brilliant tool in my kit bag 😁

@@indigopeas4047 wow, you’re definitely braver than me, I have yet to have the confidence to go up to anyone in the gym 😭 Probably will get there though! It is useful seeing how other people are doing things to try and learn.

Good for you Aimee! I think you are very brave to share. I wish I could share my workouts that my daughter has designed for me. Every 4 weeks she changes it all up. Really helpful and no guessing games. Just listen to your body and don’t stress your joints! Free lunges are the worst on knees. Do stabilized lunges, they are just as good. 👍

@@burnzz100 I think the main thing driving my gym obsession at the moment is that I’ve found it’s really been helping my mental health and has really set me up for the day, I feel so much better on days I go to the gym. I do agree I need more rest though think I’m going to take a week off the gym now and then when I go back have a structured exercise plan and not go as hard all the time think I need to be smart about it x 🏋🏻‍♀️
