Nice video. However, it could also be the chain attached between the lever and flapper. Mine would leak periodically and toggling the lever would undo a knot or twist in the chain. That knot or twist was just enough to keep the flapper from fully seating. I just had to adjust the chain length to fix it.

What causes the water in the bowl to go down slowly from where it use to be, I changed out the valve with new kit that included the flapper I adjusted everything the bowl fills up at right level but water in the bowl slowly receads down bout an inch half after the valve shuts off can't figure out what's causing the bowl to lose water that much?

During a flush, does all the water from the tank empty through the channels below the seat rim? Or does some of the the flush water flow directly into the bottom of the bowl, bypassing the seat rim channels?

I was asked to estimate replacing the drywall in a Condo that flooded due to a backed up toilet. The insurance company has already paid to have the damage repaired. I was suspicious how a backed up toilet could cause so much water damage or any water damage, so I asked the tenant and she said she usually had to jiggle the handle to get the toilet to stop running. They do not agree with my claim the damage was 100% preventable if the problem of jiggling the handle would have been repaired. Is this correct? Thanks
