@@ARMASOG the FIXT mod allows him to level up some and wear better armours .. even Power Armour if you can find an extra suit of it

Congratulations rescuing the girl, this is the true FO1 tutorial.

You can obviously just google where the water chip is, but if you want to investigate like everyone would've done in the before-google times, you really have to go to the biggest towns and ask around for leads. Hint: If you need more time, one of the towns has a way to extend the time limit if you can pay the money (which you can afford by selling all the armors you got from the raiders)

Loved the first episode as my introduction to your channel, so I can't wait to watch this one!

If you want more old games, give "Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura" a try, made by the same people that made Fallout.

You can click "End Combat" when the lights are green. You have that option when there aren't any more hostile enemies nearby. Also, there's no reason to select a called shot when you're just aiming for the torso. The chances of hitting the torso are no different from a standard hit. It's just a waste of an action point. The hints on the computer consoles that you should use a "scientific approach" are hints that you should utilize the Science Skill actively from the Skilldex. Also, you can use "steal" on Ian's inventory in order to trade with him. He doesn't care if you steal. And you can tell Ian to automatically draw his best weapon into battle, if you want to make sure he makes use of the Desert Eagle or whatever you gave him. It's also worthwhile to give him a combat knife and/or spiked knuckles for moments where he runs out of ammo.

I have few tips, 7 of them for good luck! 1 - you will run ot of carry capacity after each bigger fight, that is 100% guaranteed. Trade away extra stuff to your companions (that way they can bypass their own carry cap), and steal when you need something (they don't mind). Having one dedicated pack mule on team helps with item management (I think best may be desert ranger you'll meet, he shouldn't get in trouble because he fires rifle, unlike Ian or other melee/SMG-oriented character you'll meet) 2 - if you pick extra weapons, try to unload ammo from them to use with your main guns. You'd be surprised how much extra ammo some guns can hold! 3 - only you can wear armor (so, pick best, in this case it's metal armor from Raider boss), but even then it's worth to give extra suits to your companions, because they make great pack mules. 4 - using Stimpacks (or any chem) from weapon bar cost 2 AP but unequips stimpack. Accessing inventory cost 4 AP (or less, with perks) but you can use ANY number of chems on yourself for 0 AP. This is not an exploit, totally. Using stimpack from hand let you cure companions tho. 5 - save often, because your companions can and WILL block you in tight corridors. This was remedied in FO2 with push option, and resulted in hilarious easter egg with cows. 6 - If you have trouble with your companions getting killed in certain fights (this is problem with most companions, they like to get close), you can talk to them and temporarily leave them behind (just don't do that on random encounter and certain "special quest" maps, they'll be gone forever). And in case of certain BEST BOY (you can't unfriend him), you can lock him behind door (that's how I saved him from traps in one of endgame locations and his "canon" demise). 7 - you can buy books that can help level up some (very important) of your skills in upward of 80%. So you could trade away your extra weapons, ammo and armors for skill points early, and then pump them higher (above 80%) with skill points from leveling up.

A few hints I can give :3 ; Give Ian some 10MM ammo for the submachinegun, he will absolutely decimate everything (including you, if you happen to be in the way!), Fallout´s companions have a tendency to hit a lot of things. You use the skills from the "Skilldex" menu, some of them do not auto-activate. Like to use Science on objects, you select the skill from there and then the object you want to use it for. Also Sneaking has to be activated from Skilldex. I prefer to have first playtroughs of games I haven´t played without mods, so I can experience the game like the developers intended, and not having to think was this in the game or the mod :3

Press shift when you search for stuff, it highlights weapons,containers and all lootable objects in the map.

Trade extra inventory items to your companion. He doesn’t have overburdening problems like you do. It’s why the bags were so big on the squires in the show.

There is more to that. If you need to give them something, use barter (it skips checking item size/weight). If you need to take away something, pickpocket them (they don't mind, but barter requite actual money/goodies). A bit clunky, but works.

Really looking forward to your next playthrough! The whole raider's base fight was hilarious 😂 If you want to loot after killing a guy or two, see if you can end the combat, so that way you can loot much better rather than looting in turn-based. Also, if you want to improve the numbers of your accuracy, I suggest putting a lot of points in your small guns skill. That way, events like "Oops! Woman was hit instead Raider" again, I cracked at that part, like you're questioning the numbers of it hitting "what?! what?!"

I like how much you're enjoying the older game. I have a very similar series on my channel where I take my friend through all the Fallout games, and he's equally chaotic as you, so this is great fun to watch.

Good start lady! just a tip, use the red boton that says skilldex, use steal and that way you can give or take form IAN items of all kind, you can steal from merchants but it depends on your karma or way to play.

Even more thinking about the raider situation in 2024, you can even go inside and close the doors, lock them with your lockpick skill, and decimate the outside. You can get as creative with situations as you can imagine. Now THATS player freedom.

I have not played Fallout in a very long time. Ian is the most useful NPC, from what I recall, but eventually he'll be outclassed by other enemies out there.

I'm enjoying your videos recently and love that you are playing the original fallout, but I have to issue a big warning: Do not save in combat mode in the middle of a battle. That would probably be one of the best ways to increase your chances of corrupting a save file and losing it.

Ah, this resolution is how I remember playing the game. I prefer it covering the whole screen like this, that's the OG way. Oh and congrats on discovering the proto-V.A.T.S. It wasn't actually called that in Fallout 1 and 2 though it works much the same as you can see. It's a fun historical fact that later games would evolve the combat system so that they didn't go completely from turn based to real time but rather went with a mix of the two. You could say that in the old games, both non-targeted and targeted combat are turn based, while in the later games it's only targeted combat that's turn based.

I feel so bad for Past Meru, because Future Meru just keeps roasting her throughout this entire series 😭

awesome video! i love the fallout series and seeing someone expirience the game brings me joy.

If you want to maximize your attacks in this game 10 Agility, the Fast Shot Trait and the Bonus Melee/Ranged attacks perk will do it. I mean with the first two which you can start out with gives you 2 attacks with your starting 10mm pistol and 2 more ap to reload/move/dodge. In the end game with the best non-random encounter weapon the Turbo Plasma Rifle you will get 5 attacks in a round with 10 AP. With the best melee weapon in the game the Super Sledge attacks will only cost 1AP so yeah making a melee only build in fallout 1 is very viable.

Just a tip, where it says to use more scientific approach on the computers, what they mean is they want you to open your Skills and select Science. If you pass the science check you may learn some info and potentially get exp points.

Glad to hear it! Once you get to it, try using some modifications like OpenMW engine , it's gonna run on modern system so much better and will not change vanilla experience too much.

Yes, it's only mentioned that your family comes from vault 13. Relatives are not a plot point in f1,2 or new vegas, it's just mentioned once in the intros.

Open your character screen and try to really understand it. What are your characters strengths and weaknesses? What should you work on improving?

The console in vault 13 was telling you to use the science skill in the skilldex (bottom right red button) and click on the console with it

The raiders camp is a perfect example of how well written the world of classic fallout is, how amazingly developed the branching paths are and how well designed the roleplaying and player freedom/choice is. Based on the stats, skills and perks you chose there are so many different ways to tackle the camp. The amount of options you have is absolutely unparalleled in any game. Based on your stats you can free a certain character who gets kidnapped by them by either convincing the leader you are a great threat they don’t understand and intimidate them into freeing her, or convince them you’re their past leader come back from the dead and bluff your way into her release, or challenge the leader in one on one unarmed combat in their boxing ring, or stealthily kill the guards at the rear of the building and lockpick her cell, or plant dynamite at the cell door, or buy her freedom from them, or free her and all the slaves by killing all of the raiders, or you can even just ignore her and join the raiders by killing their slaves when the leader tells you to because he’s bored with them
